I went to a dealership the other day to look at one of these. I liked what I saw but I could have liked it more if there was no chrome plastic incorporated into it, as I saw with the cup holder. I also didn't care for the hard material used with the dashboard. At 6'2" I didn't care much for the way the seat held my bod and the look out the front window seemed kind of weird, too. On top of those things, the dealership had a very fat price tag on it. Nice vehicle but chrome plastic is a deal break
1. Any off road capability? Haven't seen any demonstrated.
2. Long-term review sources suggest the fuel economy is hugely overrated.
3. The fuel economy relies heavily on aerodynamics - which could be drastically changed with towing, roof rack storage, additional accessories, or more utilitarian tires.
4. Which means this is a relatively efficient, small minivan.
I very nice design except look at those wheel blisters, they are just asking for door dingers to dent them. Come on guys wake up, door dingers are the scourge of new car buyers, help us out add some protection!
Very nice, it's amazing how many of them I have seen already. GM is great. Cadillac especially, although they need to be independent from them and do what they need to, to truly compete, but anyway GM did a great job with this and the Equinox. They're not hybrids and they get 32 mpg, yet Ford claims they're hybrid SUV that gets 34 is the best MPG suv. Really? If you need a hybrid system to get two more than a non hybrid suv, you failed. And asian cars...ha that's a joke itself.
This is NOT a luxury car - it is GM's low end SUV - they start at $24,000 - but you'll not find one under $35,000!!! Their luxury SUV is the Denali!!
And good luck in finding one - of 4 GM or Chevrolet dealers in the Atlanta area - there is a grand total of ZERO - NONE Atlanta!!! But if you pay for it NOW - in CASH - you can get one in 2 to 4 months!!!!!
GM went bankrupt because they couldn't keep cars on the lot? no...
GM can't keep these cars in stock because they're selling too fast- same with the SRX, Equinox and Lacrosse. They're installing more shifts at factories and are considering reopening more factories to keep up with the demand... High demand isn't why GM went bankrupt.
Yeah really... If anything, low demand for a car (which means no one wants it, therefore its piling up on the lots and not selling) would send a company into BK faster than high demand would...
These cars are in high demand, which means they're getting sold quickly- therefore means more money for the company, more cars built (maybe even more shifts added) and more happy customers once they match the demand.
GM had a crap load of cars on the lot before they went bankrupt....they did cash for clunkers to help sell them....GM went bankrupt from the competition....your info is wrong...they are not high demand
GM why are you pushing these cars so hard when you know they are heating the planet and coastal cities will be flooded by the melting of the world's ice storages?
it's been known for 30 years. you got caught killing the electric car. must you be destroyed before you learn to do the right thing?
So GM is destroying the world, but Honda, Toyota, BMW, etc isn't? Antropogenic Global Warming is a fraud. Haven't you been paying attention to the latest stories. AGW is Junk Science. Were you born that stupid or did you have to study to get that way. If GM killed the Electric Car why didn't Toyota pick it up? The EV1 was DOA. The government wouldn't allow it to go into production because it couldn't pass the crash test require by DOT. You are an idiot.
I've studied all my 34 year old life to reach this level of stupidity. and all big automakers are douches. Nissan may have had a minor change of heart.
global warming is still mounting and it's still manmade. question is, as it becomes clear to even you over the years, will you remember what you said? will you realize that you were the idiot. or will you stay this crazed and not even be able to realize your mistakes and just go on making new ones
If all the big automakers are "douches" as you state, why didn't you say that. Why just pick on GM? The EV1 was an "experimental" car that was exempt from DOT crash test for a period of time. So GM HAD to recall the leased cars. Battery technology wasn't advanced enough at the time for the car. They would have needed to charge over $85,000 per car to make a profit on the EV1 back in the 1980's. AGW is a fraud in case you haven't been paying attention to the news. It's been cooling since 2001.
no, the fox news you are watching is the fraud. and the planet hasn't been cooling since 2001. it's record high year after year.
if the news in in agreement that global warming is a fraud, don't you think they would be a tad critical of the meeting in copenhagen etc.
try watching something other than fox news.
and the EV1 is not from the 80s, it was made in 96-99. and wouldn't cost 85k$ and battery tech was fine. they loved them so much they made a movie about it. and changed the world
IMO the terrain is definitely equipped to do major damage to it's segment competitors and cash in big chips for GM, i'm really surprised about how quickly GM seems to be getting in the right gear finally again. i've always liked GM cars and i wish them much success. greets from germany.
The irony about the whole thing with GM is that the Obama Administration fired the guy who was most responsible for putting GM in the right direction. The problem is we had an economic meltdown before they could get to their goal. Rick Waggoner was a great CEO and Obama essentially fired him. He was responsible for Cadillac CTS, GMC Terrain, new Camaro, the Volt and many other great new cars. He fought the battle to put them into production. What a disgrace Obama is.
well, that information is new to me and i've never heard that before, i see that you obviously didn't vote for obama :D well that is okay, but i'm not so sure whether you can link all of these new models directly to waggoner, time will tell if it was a mistake to make him go, and thus far it doesn't look like it was one. greetings
I've been following the auto industry VERY closely for the past 15 years and yes most if not all the new cars in the pipeline are as a result of Waggoner and Bob Lutz. They were the driving force. All these vehicles were conceived before Obama was elected. If GM does make a comeback, the MSM will try to make it seem like Obama had something to do with it. Just wait and see. The Obama Administration has a "car czar" who had absolutely NO experience in the car business at any level. Check it out.
okay i'm not too familiar with all the "behind the scenes" things in this particular case, i totally respect your opinion and i appreciate the information, anyways, i just want to see GM getting back on top and once more being the successful proud company that it deserves to be, i don't want to blame nor praise particular persons it is just important to me that in a joint effort GM can be brought up again.
I'am checking to see if there 20 gallon fuel tank comes with the 4 cyl.fwd ,if so I'am going to buy a black slt-1 trim with the cargo package, browntone black leather seats.GOOD JOB GMC!
I want to like domestic cars, I really do. They just aren't selling what I think makes sense. This has alot of potential. I don't know if I'm going to bet on the final MPG being 32, but I'm sure it will be close to it. The interior is a leeeeaap for GM. Reminds me of a knight rider style. At least its modern and looks usefull. Time will.
GMC is GM's commercial/working truck division, its making much more profit than does Pontiac, mainly from selling commercial viehcles (ie. for construction companies)
im sorry but this has all design cues of the toyota sienna with the rear lights that are integrated with the back window, the unified rear glass look of the toyota sequoia, and also the sequoia's steeply forward-raked side pillars, and the ''snout'' shape of all the new hondas... :( cmon designers...
