i am from hull and i didnt like it much then so i lived abroad in many countrys and i came for a visit and everytime i come back it gets better and better and i enjoy coming home now the shopping is 24 hrs and good shops and great night life plus the marina its now turning into a great modern city to be proud of

i moved to london after nearly 25 years of living in Hull, I was born in Hull... nobody knows where Hull is in London, some slag it off without even knowing where it is. Some think I have a Geordie accent others scouse, and you know what? I am glad, I am glad Hull is underated so much, its ours, we hate it we love it but if an outsider attacks it we will always defend it!

Live in hull and hate all the bad press even from the two bit snobs from the so called villages (cott,Hessle,Anlaby etc) but find it amusing how so many come to shop and socialise in hull. Hull is far better than the midlands lets keep it that way.

Hull City and Stoke City are my favourite footballteams and i would like to see both teams play one day.

As a team i think that Stoke is a bit better than Hull nowadays, but as a city Hull looks a bit better, at least when i look at videos from both cities.

I was born and grew up in Devon and have lived and worked in some of the nicest places and cities on earth. Yet i live in Hull. Call me mad (i sure some of you will) but i like the place alot. Alot of my southern friends come to visit and are very pleasantly surprised. They always have a great time and wonder why Hull suffers from the bad PR it does. Let's all hope the regeneration continues and the people of Hull let the rest of the country know how much it has going for it.

Totally agree that the PEOPLE make Hull. We can all watch this video and smile. But as well as piling money into the centre we also know that other parts of the city like Preston Road, Bransholme, Longhill and Hessle Road could do with some of it as well. After the fishing stopped Hull was expected to go into decline but the people of Hull did not let that happen. Rough diamonds and salt of the earth is all I can say.

I miss Hull now too! I lived in Beverley & Hedon for many years (& Hull briefly). Worked in Hull most of that time. It really is a brilliant place. It's regenerating all the time. It's such a shame so many amazing buildings were destroyed in the war, replaced by really awful ones! Now many of these have been torn down and innovative new ones built. It really is a great place to be. it improves all the time.

Hull is a great city to live in. The uni sceen is fantastic. Dont take any notice of the fat bird on C4. Make sure you visit the water front and the parks, oldie pubs, museum quarter, art galleries, rugby and football matches, local gigs, Springbank and Princes Ave. You will love this City.

I love this vid of Hull. Lived here all my life and only 23. I wanted to leave Hull later on in life but not sure now. All the television shows show the worst parts of Hull not many bad parts left. So glad we're on the Boom even in the current climate. GO HULL!!!!!!

This kind of video is the type of thing people outside of the area will never be exposed to because in the national media the only representations of Hull in the national media are the run down areas of the city.

I don't think Hull is that bad of a place to live,we have a lot of good things in this city as this video demonstrates.Plus with the large scale regeneration going on across the city Hull is going to become a lot better.People are to quick to say Hull is a bad place...it's really not

I lived in Hull during the early to mid 90s. It looks like there's been quite a lot of redevelopment to the east of the River Hull since my last visit. I loved every minute I was there. Most of those who joke about the place have probably never been there. A good city is much more than a beautiful setting and impressive architecture, but the quality of the people too. Hull excells on all these counts of what makes a great city. I still miss the place.

hull has had a lot of bad press in the past,and we know it`s not perfect. I`ve lived most of my life in this city and all I can say to anyone considering visiting this place is.... Hull, like any city, has it`s good and bad points as well as it`s good and bad people. Either rely on other peoples judgments, or rely on your own.
