I dont know where you are coming from but lets look at it like this. Why would Ethiopia spend so much on modern air craft and put it along the border with Eritrea? Eritrea has importanted *fact* 8 Su 27 flanker, 10 Mig 29 and 4 Su 25 frogfoot. Those are aproximations but accurate. Mi 24/35 attack cops come in as around 10 and the rest is a bit fragmented. I thought they would have simply upgraded their Mig21 for that purpose and allow elite units to yes go along with bombing but also protect the other aircraft as a primary purpose. Also I ont think Ethiopia can be said to have an unquestionable military dominance but its certainly a one that could hold its own if you look at it on paper..
