Did you happen to take into account all the folks that have lost their jobs, through no fault of their own, and cannot make those house payments. Blaming them for not paying their mortgages is utter nonsense! The obama regime and the banksters are working overtime to destroy the middle class!
Your point is right, but if Paul is not on the balit for Republic to survive, we are in deep deep dark doo doo. Both major parties are hell bent on bringing the NWO and the loss of our republic to slavery in the NWO......LOL
Bill, Bill, Bill…did you never get that Stetson that guy offered you? Lose that butt-ugly black hat; didn't your mama tell you that "good guys" don't wear black hats…except for Hopalong Cassidy, Paladin, Lash LaRue and a few others.
The banks not only gave high risk loans, but cycled and sold those loans to other investment companies. So when the clients failed to pay their debt, the investment companies fell and couldnt repay the banks, so they all fell together and brought down others with them.
There should be strict regulations on banks, so that they wont take high risks with other peoples money.
It seems that a lot of people missed the boat growing up. If you can't afford it, don't try to buy it. I have nothing against low income people, I was one myself starting out. I also knew better than to sign up for something I knew that I couldn't afford on my limited income. It doesn't take a lot of brains to figure out if you " make minimum wages " for a living, you can't afford a $250,000.00 house payment. It's just common sense.
And when the economy does collapse, guess who will be out rioting in the streets? All these people getting gov. checks and mortgages. When their meal tickets run out it'll be time to head for the hills.
Well I am sure Bill Clinton is happy about all this, so many years from his administration that no one questions him. Hopefully we can get a conservative in office, but I will never vote for Romney, would rather have 4 more years of knowing what to expect then a possible 8 of not knowing what to expect.
Wow ... many of the comments to the contrary of this video are still trying to blame all the conservatives for this mess ... I think I remember that not "all" conservatives voted for the bailouts. Apparently, you people didn't get that memo, because you still keep using them as your scapegoat.
Conservatives are every bit as guilty as Liberals in what you are accusing. But it usually comes in the form of corporate welfare. The mortgage crisis was caused by banks making reckless loans to rip people off and then trading those bad loans which was allowed to affect the whole industry because of deregulation. The loans Liberals pushed for low income buyers were insignificant compared to ones banks willingly sought.. But serve as a convenient scapegoat. You are uneducated.
@xbertocoaylax Banks were forced to give loans to people who could never afford the loans to start with. This was forced on the banks by Barny Frank and Chris Dodd. This was not a mistake,it was a plan. The Cloward & Piven plan. Seems only when your freedoms are gone will you liberals know how wrong you are. Then it's too late.
Here's a way Liberal Dems make it hard for hardworking, tax paying Americans to get good educations. We are forced to carry a ton of stupid, dead wood on our backs. All while my parents struggled & SACRIFICED to educate us (with our help) & while I did the same for my kids, we paid huge taxes to educate idiots who if not for the freebies, free tutors & a 'special grading' system could not manage a D minus! Let them get the hell out of the way, cut the shit, and let us pay for our own kids..ONLY!
@soco13466 No but I never write off a thinkers entire system. It usually has some truth to it. Marx has some truth to it and at least his methodology is interesting.
Banks were forced to give loans to people who could never afford the loans to start with. This was forced on the banks by Barny Frank and Chris Dodd. This was not a mistake,it was a plan. The Cloward & Piven plan. Seems only when your freedoms are gone will you liberals know how wrong you are. Then it's too late.
All the socialist liberals seem to think they will be part of the ruling party in a two level society. The rich and the poor. Have they got a surprise in store for them. The George Sorrroses of this world will hand them a shovel to dig ditches with, just like the rest of us.
@billty1 These liberals think they will be part of the ruling party if socialism takes hold. They don't realize that they will be part of the poor working class. The George Sorros types will hand them a shovel to dig ditches just like the rest of us.
@billty1 Eloquently expressed! For decades banks not only wanted to know you had the income & down payment to be able to hold on to your home, they wanted Proof that YOU saved that money to put down, it was not a gift. The idea was that when YOU have sacrificed, worked, & learned how to handle your money, you will not allow yourself to lose your home. YOU have an investment. They went from that to just handing people morgages they had no investment in because they were minorities. Made NO sense!
@tjbollman1 And then came predatory loans where banks wanting to make a quick profit started signing people up for houses that they might not be able to make payments on. They knew they could take the house back. It was done by banks to scam people. Then because of deregulation they were able to trade bad loans with large institutions. The ones to poor and minorities were a small part. The large ones that caused the collapse were ones the banks did willingly.
Americans do not receive an adequate education in money management in school. The mortgage crisis was not caused by bad borrowers, it was caused by predatory lending by financial institutions. Rather than bailing out the bad guys on Wall street, we should be helping the victims of predatory lending, the elderly, the poor and the financially illiterate.
@walthe310 When the banks were forced to write bad mortgages, Fannie and Freddie gave them an out. Loan officers got their commissions, so they didn't have anything to lose.It was the damn donkeys who caused all this.
Question to liberals,What form of government do you want to replace the Republic? What form of economy do you want to replace capitol-ism? What laws do you want to replace the Constitution? Our schools used to teach "Thinks before acting" but liberals stopped that. I think it needs to be taught again.
ROFL..Bill I love the look on your face when you say "what could POSSIBLY go wrong with that?" I expect it's the same look and tone of voice I use when I say those words about things like the mortgage crisis.
Kris: the source of the problem is irresponsible people. Responsible people dominate a job-creation economy. In other words, lots of perfectly innocent, bill-paying folks are victimized by those who aren't. Casualities are inevitable in a bail-out-the-irresponsible economy. Communism isn't going to help.
What about the people that lost their jobs and couldn't pay? I see that a lot more than people looking for hand outs from the fed. I honestly DO hate to deliver dissent on your videos, since I generally agree with you, but "loafers" aren't the key problem. Sure, they suck, but they wouldn't be OUR problem, if the left wasn't so intent on building a platform of dependance upon themselves.
@Kris246zl You have a point. There were people who were able to pay their mortgage until they lost their jobs. They weren't the problem it was those money-hungry dishonest banks who gave mortgages to people without checking their credit, financial info. and allowed them to get it with no money down.
@YhwhKhaiMostHigh When you blame only the banks you take away the power from the people and put them in the victim category. When you leave people powerless like that, you all-but call them slaves.
This crisis did not blindside us. There were signs along the way A lot of our clients bought houses that were ridiculously over priced with payments that they could barely afford. Some others inherited their homes and mortgaged them for play money. They are not victims but of their bad decisions.
@tomperanteau Look, I'm not only blaming the banks, what about those who took out mortgages for "ridiculously over priced" homes knowing full well they couldn't afford to pay it back? What say you?
The individuals that took the loans out are to blame for their own actions. They should have managed themselves better. They should have researched the market and looked, historically, at what was going on. Many others did and did not end up a victim.
People are to blame for their actions. There will always be criminals around trying to get your money. It is up to you to protect yourself, as the government will not.
@YhwhKhaiMostHigh Bullshit. The banks put as much faith in the buyers as the buyers had in themselves. The only fools offering "no money down" offers were the banks using the democrats as a safety net. "Bank of America" was notorious for that.
@YhwhKhaiMostHigh Failed what? your self-righteous assumptions? How unlike a Wild Bill supporter. Give me something to work with or submit to the fact that you're pathetic.
Libs love to imbue each other with propped-up self-esteem in education. The most worthwhile self-esteem boost comes from working hard, paying your bills, getting out of deb and helping those who you choose to help.
Good video, thanks. When we saw this crisis coming back on '07, we sold everything that was not needed and paid off all our debt. We have been debt-free since. We cringed as we saw the people that we knew and our clients stay heavily invested in the market lose almost everything they had saved.
We only invest in tangibles these days, and we refuse to finance anything. The only way to go.
