Just watching this video shows that Oklahoma kind of sucked. Having that many 30 and 40 yard passes open just means the coverage sucks. But still....it's good to see the boys in blue get one over the dreamy creamy boys.

We BYU fans have to take this one with a grain of salt. OU had to start a running back at QB for this game, and the lack of offense kept their defense on the field way too much. They never made excuses, they played like men and accounted for themselves well, so we gotta give them credit. PLUS their coach was on the way out and with Howard Schnellenberger in attendance there was speculation he'd be next, so there was that distraction too. Too much for OU to overcome.

You may be right, he may have been a safety or a DB. Either way, OU was out of QB's and had to go with someone who'd thrown at least 1 pass in a game, college or high school. Lavell even commented that BYU'd been in the same boat in '92, giving Tom Young (5th QB) his first and only start against Kansas in the bowl game in Hawaii. BTW, I'm not only a BYU fan, but an '81 alum and played 4 years on the lacrosse team. How's your foot taste?
