  • ¡Qué intensidad en apenas un minuto y medio!.

  • great

  • woo who¨s the pianist??? he¨s fantastiche

  • Juan Antonio Alvarez Parejo :)

  • I wonder who sings this piece with the correct rhythm. I love her interpretation but I would like to sing what the composer intended.

  • I know what you mean as I'm also giving a try to learn this song and it is hard!

But have you ever listened to some flamenco music with all the improvised deep hearted aaay ay aaay melisms? You can never ever write down how that is to be sung exactely, and in my opinion, that is what De Falla has tried to do here. So, it's no wonder that it is close to impossible to stick to the score.

Teresa Berganza is my most important example especially in Spanish song. She's the greatest!

  • If you can't trust Berganza on the interpretation of this song then who can you? I don't think it's important to sing this in strict rhythm, it's written as it is because Western notation doesn't support the kind of rhythm found in cante jondo.

  • That's what I meant to say.

  • Teresa is very well in form at this concert! It is a great recording, it should be on dvd!

  • Ah! In my opinion, the BEST of Falla's 'Siete canciones populares espanolas'.Well sung. She sang a memorable Carmen,on the opera stage, at the Edinburgh International Festival,I think in the late 1970's. A few days later the cast went into the recording studio and it was hailed as one of the best.

  • I believe it was Edinburgh 1976, and it IS a great recording!

  • Thanks for that information Roe27Ger.
