i used to like to go grocery shopping until i got type 1 diabetes, now it's not as fun =(

i do like to try to look around for new foods that i'm not allergic to (i'm allergic to milk, peanuts, soy, eggs, nuts, crab, shrimp, beef, and pork), especially at whole foods! i just go wherever i can find what i want (usually safeway), but i love whole foods for allergy free stuff! and i have a lassens (which is kinda like a smaller version of whole foods) near me, so that place is good too!

Grocery shopping is one of my favorite things too. :) We have Giant Eagle around where I live, and I love looking through all the different things I've never heard of before and attempting not to buy everything, haha.

I also went to Scotland this past summer, and honestly one of my favorite things there was a grocery store called Marks & Spencer, because they had so many awesome-looking foods. I got a really cool pistachio, pomegranate and rice salad from there.

I'm pretty sure also that most sugar alcohols are fine. The sugar alcohol xylitol is usually used for diabetics because it is absorbs slowly as well. The only thing I've read about when it comes to Maltitol is that if you eat an excess amount you MAY get a laxative effect, lol! So dont eat more than 1 bar (i'm sure you wouldnt) or you may get a surprise.

You can eat a little bit of whole wheat pasta! The extra fiber makes your body absorb the carbs REALLY slow, so you dont get sugar spikes and you dont gain weight. I usually eat a small portion of it mixed with some form of protein. Its delicious and I've lost a lot of weight from doing that (15 pounds so far!).

I wish food wasn't so expensive these days. I have to pay for my own food and pay my parents rent each month (I pay em £400 out of the £500 I earn a month) so I currently live on tea and thats it apart from a yoghurt in the morning and a piece of fruit at night. Seriously, those people in the comments talking about how they get their parents to buy all their stuff for them, you don't know how lucky you are to be able to just buy whatever you like. XD

I live in Canada and my family shops organic A LOT and I find the best place to buy organic food is at Fortinos they have great selections :)
