@dshafe9791 no, it is easier to do a chin up....chin ups use your bicep a lot and your lats less....a pull up works predominantly lats....try it...if you can do 5 or 6 chin ups, try a pull up and you won't get nearly as many.
just to answer some questions chins are defo easier than pull ups, with the palms facing you the biceps are brought into the excercise unlike pamls away then its just the lats thats getting hit i can do 5 chins strict for with 30 kg tied to my belt but cant manage one pullup with that weigh
Chin ups are not always "way easier" than pullups. It depends on the individual. My own personal record is 36 doing it either way...for me it makes little difference and I've known other guys where it makes virtually no difference either.
Like I said, it depends on the individual. Some like yourself, find a big difference. Others, like myself, find pullups just as easy as chinups. Regardless, let's no lose sight; Shinobi did 30 really good chins. Most guys out there can't come anywhere close to that...especially in the slow, good form that Shinobi demonstrates.
53? Ok thanks, that's what I wanted to know, the difference between a normal grip and an I-Beam, so I don't need to see a video of that anymore. Btw that's really a lot, you seem to have an amazing strength for your weight
The grip on an I-Beam is not an easy one, so 30 chin ups it's really amazing. Congratulations. I now feel my record on a normal bar (19 reps) is ridiculous:) Are you an athlete? What's your weight? Why don't you try on a regular bar and post the video?
those are chin-ups (palms facing), not pull-ups (palms away). however, good form. how many pull-ups can you do though? as far as one-armed (i think thats what ppl meant to say, not one-handed) go, i think its a strength thing, so while doing a whole lot of two-armed pull-ups will help, it won't help as much as doing weighted pull-ups.
Haha, yeah I tried the one handed, and I didnt even come close, like halfway and gave out so I deleted the vid, Im not gonna embarrass myslef... lol but, I'll work on it, and once it looks alright, Ill prolly post it
amazing there. Alot of talk on one hand pulls, and the way to do is place the free hand on the working bicep, then on to shoulder as you build strength. Remember its your lats and not the biceps that work the most in pulls.
OK, one more thought. The fact you can do so many pullups on an I-beam suggests you must also have a lot of grip strength. On a real bar, you might be able to do pullups with just two fingers per hand, or maybe with some practice, even one finger per hand. That would also be cool to see.
I know from experience, a person can almost always do more on a genuine, decent pullup bar versus an I-beam. It would be great to see you try to max out on a real bar. What do you think...35 maybe? And don't forget about attempting a one arm pullup...that would be cool.
Absolutely awesome!!! You did every one in really good form (up & down all the way) and not rushed. One of the best clips of its kind on Youtube! Can you manage a true, unassisted single arm pullup? If not, you can't be far from it. It's said only about 1 in 100,000 can manage a one arm pullup. Being able to do 30+ good form regular pullups is already truly exceptional. Only the best Olympic caliber athletes might do better. Let's see some more-keep posting!

pull ups are easy when you only weigh 130 pounds.... try adding some weight to them, then you'll get a real workout.

not trying to be a cock, but these are not pull ups. These are chin ups, when your palms are facing you.
