  • Why do people say cars will be faster in a stick? My step dads 01 ss has around 630 horses and his is an automatic. He beats sticks/autos all the time. Lol

  • I work at Kellog Cadillac.

    No offense, but for $100,000 car, Cadillac spent under $50 grand in parts to build it.

    Dealerships do not own up to biting those high electrical repairs and computerized components.

    The chrome rims are just chrome plated metal POWDER rims, corrodes fast and easy.

    Ford,Mercedes,Mazda etc is the way to go, dont let GM rip you off like they do thier customers and mechanics in an attempt to pay off thier debt, they owe to the Government from the bailout

  • Im a Gm fan and dont get me wrong the CTS-V is powerful but its just so ugly and horrible quality, its just an excuse for people with less money to say they can keep up with the big boys.. I test drove E60 M5 and the interior looks really clean and quality, and the exterior is flawless!

    maybe for a V1 but certainly not the Italian leather clad V2...test drove them all 3 weeks ago and would have bought the 2011 CTS-V for the same money, much less the $40k premium for the M6 we went to BUY but decided to give the V a whirl. Traded a 7series BMW for the 2011 V by the way...  Face it, this is a lot of car for the money and the days of assuming American cars are all POSs is just prehistoric. Its funny that many critics call the "new" CTS-V as one of the sexiest cars

  • @bigalforsyth Yeah but honestly your not just paying that extra 20k for nothing!! Sure maybe 10k of it is towards the BMW name but the rest is all put into quality.. Just wait I'm sure in 10 years once these cars start to get dated, the BMW will be better built to last those years. Well critics have there own opinion just like everyone else so therefor I don't listen to the critics! IMO the cadi has too much chrome and the bimmer just looks professional inside and out!

    in your defense, honestly, we had the 2011 CTS-V a week and sent it to the body shot to have the stupid chrome trim color matched! We just had a bad taste in our mouth from buying a $92k 7 series and only getting a third of that in resell value 3 years later. The new Vs are holding their value really well. I hope you are wrong about the 10 year thing, but i guess we'll all have to wait and see.

  • @nyege2 man youre dumb.. the CTS-V blower displaces 1.62L or so of air per screw rev, while the ZR-1 SC does 2.3L per revolution... much bigger and efficient sir.... do research before trying to call a shop out... do you think they pulled 130rwhp out their ass? idiot...

    not exactly...there's forged internals, different block/head designs, entirely different blower LSA is not the same as LS9, hence why they are called by different numerical part numbers and nicknames.

  • @nyege2 BULLSHIT! Sorry but your wrong, the LS9 uses the same eaton blower but it is a TVS2300 and the LSA is a TVS1900. The LS9 uses 2.3L charger and LSA is a 1.9L charger... I suggest doing more research before posting

  • Why didn't cadillac do this in the first place?...would have been easier for everyone if the ctsv and zr1 shared the exact same engine...and also up the ante with bmw and mercedes.

    I had a chance to take a ctsv out for a HARD test drive thanks to my folks buying an srx from a young salesman. It's a 4dr BEAST, but it didn't scare me enough to ever want to buy one....but that dont matter since im broke!

  • I would like to see how it compares to the Hennessey kit? The problem i Have with mine is the Paddle transmission not shifting quickly at redline. I had a Jag XK and the transmission would shift before allowing the the rev limiter to kick in.

  • the blower upgrade was a substantial increase in power but the first thing im worried about is dropping in a full manual transmission, paddle shift gets boring real fast.

    What kinda service can you guys offer for putting in a manual tranny fully built with strait cut gears and helical final gear for highway driving? I want something that performs well on WOT but doesnt make my ears bleed on the highway.

  • @nyege2 Sorry dude. LS9 block is different from the LSA block. The LS9 is strengthened quite a bit. The blowers themselves are different sizes. So, shove off.

  • The lsa and ls9 blocks are also different. The LS9 has thicker bulkheads, and has been machined for oil squirters for the bottom of the pistons. The LS9 also has unique heads cast from stronger aluminum. Not to mention a forged rotating assembly as opposed to cast for the caddy's LSA.

  • @nyege2 - no, it's got a custom intercooler on it and a ZR-1 OEM blower. We had to modify it to fit LSA motor but it's nothing our in house machine shop couldn't handle. Thanks for trying to call us out, but you're wrong.
