I was the same age as Mitch at the time. It was the end of junior high, beginning the summer before I entered my fresnman year of high school. The Bicentenial Year 1976! Looking back on it, the fashions and hairstyles were bad,(The 70's were notorious for the confused styles! A transition phase between the "groovy 60's" and the "hip 80's," if you will. LOL!) but it was a laid back, simpler time.

It was a fun time!

Check out "Spirit of '76" if you want accuracy. That film is dead on!

Nowadays everyone looks like they just got out of bed or are at the beach. But, yes, I has a blast as a teenager back then! Great fun man! Hard to top the 70's for teenager freedom!

That is SUCH a great movie. I have watched the entire thing dozens of times, and I never get tired of it. It is one of those rare movies you can just put in the player any time and be very entertained.

Lies like that wouldn't float today!
