My great grandparents came from Ireland (county Meath, to be exact) and ever since I could remember, I felt as though I was an exile who would someday make the journey to return home again.
Thank you for posting this. Such beautiful songs like this help me to ardently hold onto my dream of going home.

This song ALWAYS gets me sooo emotional! It's made me cry a few times, because it reminds me of home. I was listening to this song with my grandmother (I live with my grandparents) on the way home from college for Christmas break, so every time I hear this song now, I get all emotional. It's so beautiful. Mairead does a awesome job at it!
