I would give anything to go back to the days of Prince and his his purple era with Sheila E in the 80's. Coz I missed most of it then due to my career. Both are awesome.
Such a shame Sheila disappeared off the scene for a while. I absolutely love this song.
Prince is still the best in the business, always will be, all other artists pale into insignificance compared to him.
Just acquired his latest 2010 album - OUTSTANDING ! - The prince we all know and love.
Awesome, AWESOME song ! Slick, sexy, catchy... I just LOVE the bridge to this song. Too bad this version cut off the verse that came after the bridge, it was great too. Was this considered the official promo video ? I always wondered why the single didn't get more airplay in North America. Anyway, thanks for posting this !
curiouschile, don't cuss here. It doesn't belong on YouTube. Not now, not ever! How 'bout somethin' clean to say about Sister Sheila? Peaked at #34 in Billboard.
Those were the day of real entertainment. My first introduction to Sheila E. was when she sang duet with Prince on Erotic City. From there I was hooked. She also had a B-side single called 2 Sexy for the Glamorous Life album. It's a hot instrumental with Sheila doing a little talk/sing/breathing here and there.
Again thse were the days Purple Music was hottest in the 80's Prince & the Revolution, Sheila E Vanity 6 the Time, the Family, Mazarati, Jill Jones, Madhouse...
Sheila never reached full potential she deserved in the UK. Probably coz she was hit in her prime with a collapsed lung, which damaged her career at it's height. So her amazing talent has not been fully recognised by all in the UK.
You are very lucky in the States to have had more of her time....unless you specifically followed her or were a Prince fan., the British public never had the chance to witness her talent.
It's so funny how all the great Prince songs are the ones he gave to his "proteges". I'll take Vanity 6, the Time, or Sheila E anyday over a Prince record.
LOVE this album, LOVE this song, LOVE LOVE LOVE Sheila!! I wish it were the early 80s again. But damn Sheila - that's some permed hair! ouch lollollol
i havent heard this in years! quite a sizeable hit here in oz,went as high as #13 i think in 1985.certainly got a lot of airplay.great song.

OMG do you have the rest of this performance? she did the best version of Glamorous Life straight after this, I've been looking everywhere for it.

Sheila E is amazing. Have actually only discovered her since reading Prince's biography by Per Nielson.
I've only just bought 2 of her CD's Glamorous Life and Romance 1600. - Can't stop playing them, they're superb.
Can't believe I missed out on her prime years as an artist. - I was dedicated to my career throughout the 80's, music wasn't a priority.
Glad I've discovered her now though, and she is right up there with Prince and MJ.
What a stunning lady !

I like her hair and clothing-style more in the times of A love Bizarre and Holly Rock.
Her music was better as well.

Sheila had that hair frosted like my last b'day cake. We really worked our hair back in the 80's; surprised we ain't bald today.

He did this with 17 days. It was supposed to be a Vanity 6 track, but he turned it into a b side track of his.
