Beautiful Depression era music, very fitting for all those who've been foreclosed, downsized, indebted with student loans from university & now living back at "home" with family cause they can't find a job, etc. These everday people are all of us! Many "normal" people are homeless and are working poor. Hey, O.O was that a $1M bill in the parade!?
@RainbowConure I think the Occupy movement could have come up with the money for a regular float and permit if it was necessary... although it's true that it would not have been "easy" nor would it have necessarily been wise since so many of us are hurting so badly financially as it is. Maybe 2013 they'll get a spot near the front of the parade and see if any main stream media still blocks them.
@CitizensPatriot1 Unless you are either super-rich or super-lazy and not not interested in doing anything for society, the filthy-rich and super-greedy morons represented by the OCCUPUS already have their tentacles in your wallet, thanks to MANY laws made in their favor over the years by bought politicians that people try and fail to vote against. Such laws let them outsmart many by renting other people's brains. Are you smart enough to catch them at it, or have they got you permanently fooled?
What is the Octopus suppose to represent? Eight different ways these MORONS are attempting to get their tentacles in my wallet? (Take a bath and get a damn job!)
@CitizensPatriot1 "What is the Octopus suppose to represent? Eight different ways these MORONS are attempting to get their tentacles in my wallet? (Take a bath and get a damn job!)"
I guess Herman Cain is still sore that he can BLAME HIMSELF for running a failrace, so he had one of his stooges sign on to Youtube to post this. LOL.
@CitizensPatriot1 Hello, as one of the float organizers, I hate to disappoint you, but I have an excellent job and no intention of getting my tentacles anywhere near your wallet. Unless you are part of the 1% of course, in which case I suggest you start paying your fair share of taxes.
The Occupy Octopus was the best float in the whole Rose Parade! I hope people will be moved to get out in person to support their local Occupy. Here in Tennessee, we have some 24/7 Occupy encampments, in Chattanooga, Nashville, Murfreesboro, and we have many other active Occupy groups. We will be going to Nashville on January 10 for the opening of the state legislature. Our state has a terrible taxation system which makes the poor and middle-class shoulder most of the burden.
Double Speak + usury + predatory + corruption + FRAUD + dominating + propaganda + creating forced presumptions upon the masses = the 1% an those that support the 1%
@RainbowConure Hi, I'm one of the Octy float organizers. The puppet tentacles, which symbolize corprate greed and manipulation, are made of bags printed with corporations' names. They are physical oil-based products of an economic system that now has 50% of Americans categorized as "poor" or "low income". We used them for their symbolic significance and to recycle items that might otherwise end up in the "Trash Gyre".
@christyc463 --mine was a cartoon, Bernanke walking the California bear into the new world order (bear had G20 branded on the butt). Bernanke had a federal reserve balloon that had three arrows in it that said Ab Lincoln, A,Jackson, JFK.
A float covered with trash bags for the white trash behind ows. Well at least the design was appropriate. You can count what, 20-30 people who turned out for this pathetic float.
Beautiful. Protesting the many areas in which banks and corporations care to stretch their tentacles . I get it. And person below here more than jobs that's a really simplified view you got.
there is no glory in being an "intellectual" Many more problems are caused by intellectuals then solutions. solutions require common sense, something that many intellectuals seem to be lacking.
@dallasbearhunter What Planet did you come from? Do you have any idea what the unemployment rate is? Or maybe you came from the planet Stupid, in that case you are excused, Bye, Bye.
Hello, I helped to organize and operate this puppet. Along with many of the others involved I do indeed have a job. Our unemployed friends were usually too busy looking for work to spend much time making the float.

I support OWS, but I think it's funny how they're too poor to build a real float and they made an octopus out of recycled materials.

@DaMav Someone needs to go back to school to learn to count. That's LOT more than 20-30 people there.

I'm in the 1% so my accountant tells me here in Malibu.
I have always supported U guys "Occupy"....But this is so for the Kids and Visitors from other states....What a waste of time on your part.
But I will still support all of U guys.
But your in the the wrong place today to protest.
Anywayzzz not that it matters, but they just delivered my new Mercedes yesterday for New Years....$900.00 a month lease for 48 months...
So pick your battles so we can all support U guys.

@JeffinBoxers Nothing wrong with being in the 1% as long as you aren't hurting people to get and to stay there! Thanks for supporting #Occupy.
