I had that happen with a Legionnaire on a horse...I was fighting a dragon and ended up following him (just a coincidence, as I was running after the dragon.) When I finished off the dragon I turned around to walk away and I swear by everything I hold dear, the dude on the horse (which was glitching out in exactly the same way as your deer) dropped out of the sky at like 250 mph and went SPLAT!!! RIGHT in front of me while I was walking away. I was like "....you ok?" lol
