That's pretty funny given the fact that the policies of the last 8 years of Bush and McCain have already brought us two huge wars, the largest of which we did not need, and as close to a depression as any of us will ever want to get. Time for some balance and new thinking.
You are old anuf to remember Carter, he created the problems identical to today(home values, inflation,Iran, energy problems,ect.).Obama wants to do the same things but this time it will spin us in to a depretion and possably WW-3.
Wow that was well said to bad your wrong. At no time has anyone connected to the Obama campaign stated his tax will be on gross or net. In Ga. 99.7% of all businesses are small businesses. His tax would raise business taxes to 52-54% AS STATED BY OBAMA, I heard him state this in a intervue.
No true. According to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, McCain negligently uses the statutory tax rate when he cites we have teh 2nd highest corporate tax rate. The correct tax rate to pay attention to is the "effective marginal tax rates," the percentage of the income from an investment that must be paid as corporate income tax. That's the tax paid after all the loopholes and tax rules on depreciation, etc. are taken into account. See next comment of mine as being limited to # of words here
The highest federal statutory tax rate now is now 35%. It's much lower for the effective tax rate. Obama's tax policy makes it 39%, like in the Clinton yrs, when we were doing quite well and also had a budget surplus. That tax rate is only applicable to the part of "net income" (not gross income) over $250,000 (that's the way our progressive tax system works. Obama also wants to give lower taxes to companies that don't go offshore, further lowering the effective tax rate. Vote w/ the facts!
Did you also know that 95% or greater of your small businesses you site in Georgia make less than $250,000 net income before taxes and they get tax reductions. So, what's the beef? It's silly to say Obama's people never stated whether their tax policies applied to either gross or net income - tax rates always apply to net income before taxes - that's just a basic fact and part of economics. Vote on the facts.
If you pocket over 250k a year and are not willing to pay an extra 4% tax on anything over that 250k to help the country you live in then to hell with you. I agree with wparker 100%.
Joe only earns 40,000 he was in no position to buy the business and his cousin is part of the Keating 5... and Joes name isn't even Joe.. its Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher and he isnt a licensed plumber.
Joe is a joke amongst democrats and a moral compass for republicans..
McCain for example wants to pay for some of his new goodies by cutting back on medicare coverage etc. Gotta take it from somewhere - I just think Obama has teh best and most fair way to do it.
yeah he is going to cut Medicare by a TRILLION dollars, republicans scream "people should work for it.. its not just a right" but when they get sick they are the first ones complaining about the cost. Its stupid i genuinely having problems grasping that we are surrounded by this many morons.. DONT FORGET 250,000 in profit the average business would turn over 2million to get that kind of profit, mccain has poor people screaming for something they will never earn.. and they are BELIEVING IT??!!??
I believe your point is accurate, however, the reason this is being drilled into the public forum is that Barack Obama is wanting to "spread or share" the wealth. America is on it's way to being a nation with a large population of people just having their hands out and receiving benefits from high net income individuals and business. btw, if this happens, watch how much biz goes elsewhere...
it's not so much about income redistribution at all. It's about having revenue to pay off all teh debt the opposite policies and heaped upon us all these last 8 years quadrupling the national debt - it cannot go on like this fo rour kids sake or they will have nothing but debt to pay off in thier national budgets in teh future. How do you think things like these bailouts and all the goodies both candidates are promising?
Joe's NOT a plumber, he's a BUSINESS OWNER. He may NOT HAVE to ever turn a wrench. He can put his emancipated son or nephew on the payroll. He WRITES OFF part of this house, vehicles, can put the money into his 401K equivalent sky's the limit compared to average Joe's 401K.
Folks ought to read RICH DAD POOR DAD. Much the Joe's income's tax free--a good bookkeeper can keep Joe under 250K.
SS tax? Go limitless, billionaires pick up 1the total burden, the rest of us 5.5%, not 7%.
