rednose/bluenose is not a "breed" of pitbull. It's a Pitbull Terrier or Staffordshire Terrier, both look similar and are often confused for eachother. A pit weighing over 60lbs. is not necessarily overweight; the rednoses tend to be leaner, slighter framed. Bluenoses have generally wider heads from what I have seen and raised.
@averrose23 And please remember, when it comes to dogs fighting, size doesn't always matter. Anyway, why would anybody want to destroy a perfectly good companion animal for fighting? I love these dogs and will never have another breed.And yes the strongest breed of all! they can kill anything!NOT breeding again anytime soon! just thought I should add that!
@campcoskuro yes thy are they even have Canadian registration and they do very well in cold rather then here in Texas,we had a hard winter and the pups dealt with 19 degrees at 3 days old no problem! These dogs thrive in cold and likely get bigger because of it!

quite difficult, as they are under protection by the Turkish government and not allowed to be exported. but, if you go to Turkey you can get fake papers from any vet. just take your pup to a vet and say it is not pure. that's it.

the videos that show up when you seach anatolian shepherd are mostly not include anatolian dogs. if you want to see some real anatolian shepherd please search as "sivas kangal". sivas is the city located in turkey where anatolian shepherds is originally from. ps : sivas kangal or kangal (they are same) is the real name of anatolian shephard and they are NOT kurdish dogs if you really want to see some proof please look up from the encyclopedias not from google for some true history.
@ekimevilone last i checked, the irish wolfhound was the largest, as far as height and length go. i'm sure the saint bernard would outweigh the wolfhound, but not by much. :)
@willowrand the average hight on an Irish wolfhound is 32-37 inches. the average weight on the English mastif is 150-230 lbs for a male. and average Kengal is about 28-35 inches and 120-170 lbs. They aren't the tallest or heaviest but a great combo of both. Imagine a much larger german shepherd that is much more protective but very people friendly at the same time.
@macchef01 i agree. we have an anatolian shepherd, 19 weeks old and already 52#. she's a sweetie w/people, but other dogs beware. she tolerates our older dog (13 yr. old akita/chow mix), tries to play w/our cat but scares the hell out of her, and is amazingly beautiful. highly intelligent to a fault as well. thinks she knows what's best but reluctantly obeys, eventually. brat! hehehe i love these dogs. they are very close to being the largest, i agree. thanks for the reply!

There quiet large for the sizes. The ones that are sent overseas i would say are not pure bread. Regardless there amazing dogs and are very very loyal to there owners.. You could leave them in a paddock and come back 1 month later and find him in the same spot and there very smart! I love my Kangal and my German Sheppard :D I'm 172cm and his head rests about where the top of my abs are. Also when he jumps on my bed, he can send me flying off the other end :(
@DrDiddle there is no such thing as an "Anatolian shepherd".There are 5 breeds in Turkey.Akbash,Kangal,Kars(similar to Caucasian Ovcharka),A sight hound.And also a Huge Mastiff type dog that often has a similar coat colour to the Kangal.The Mastiffs can weigh up to 200 lb.Anatolian shepherd is a western invention.Some dogs in this clip look to me to be Mastiffs.Not shepherd dogs
@DrDiddle Actually, there are numerous areas in Turkey that breed these guys. Many of the larger, and aggressive Kangals come from Sivas - this area is well known for breeding seriously large, aggressive, and protective Kangals for military, police work, and protection in harsh terrain. The other areas will certainly breed Kangals that are capable to do all the above, but some blood lines are more notorious than others. I got mine from Bursa, and they are small, but I still love them to death

Yes, I believe. Turks won't call it "Anadolu Çoban köpeği - Anatolian Shepherd dog" though. It is known as Kangal or Sivas Kangal in Turkey. Sivas is a city in mid-Anatolia and Kangal is one of its districts. If I were you, I would look for it using "Sivas Kangal", not "Anatolian Shepherd".

ok get this straight i know a lot about dogs especially the hardcore types I,ve been around a lot of dogs and mastiffs,anatolians,wolfhounds and other stuff own. My anatolian and another one of my dogs get in fights sometimes and its bad. smokey my other dog weighs 58 and is more viscious than a pit bull (shes a mix) and she acts like a wolverine. She usually starts it by just attacking him but then he just pins her with one of his massive legs and stares at her until she stops growling.

@fancyredrose dogs didnt evolve from wolves. This breed descends from the Mastiff/Molossar dog. They are not 3000 yrs. old. 1000 yrs @ the most. People make up stories to embelish greatness. Historical writings prove what I say. Btw, wolves do not make good pets nor herd guardians n r never domesticated. If it is u hav a hybrid dog/wolf.

the videos that show up when you seach anatolian shepherd are mostly not include anatolian dogs. if you want to see some real anatolian shepherd please search as "sivas kangal". sivas is the city located in turkey where anatolian shepherds is originally from. ps : sivas kangal or kangal (they are same) is the real name of anatolian shephard and they are NOT kurdish dogs if you really want to see some proof please look up from the encyclopedias not from google for some true history.

@ekimevilone last i checked, the irish wolfhound was the largest, as far as height and length go. i'm sure the saint bernard would outweigh the wolfhound, but not by much. :)

@willowrand the average hight on an Irish wolfhound is 32-37 inches. the average weight on the English mastif is 150-230 lbs for a male. and average Kengal is about 28-35 inches and 120-170 lbs. They aren't the tallest or heaviest but a great combo of both. Imagine a much larger german shepherd that is much more protective but very people friendly at the same time.

@macchef01 i agree. we have an anatolian shepherd, 19 weeks old and already 52#. she's a sweetie w/people, but other dogs beware. she tolerates our older dog (13 yr. old akita/chow mix), tries to play w/our cat but scares the hell out of her, and is amazingly beautiful. highly intelligent to a fault as well. thinks she knows what's best but reluctantly obeys, eventually. brat! hehehe i love these dogs. they are very close to being the largest, i agree. thanks for the reply!

@willowrand ... saint bernards can hit about 220 lbs. while english mastiffs can reach larger sizes and are more common to. Irish wolfhounds are the tallest, not the largest... and the weight between mastiffs and wolfhounds are by A LOT.

There quiet large for the sizes. The ones that are sent overseas i would say are not pure bread. Regardless there amazing dogs and are very very loyal to there owners.. You could leave them in a paddock and come back 1 month later and find him in the same spot and there very smart! I love my Kangal and my German Sheppard :D I'm 172cm and his head rests about where the top of my abs are. Also when he jumps on my bed, he can send me flying off the other end :(

@DrDiddle there is no such thing as an "Anatolian shepherd".There are 5 breeds in Turkey.Akbash,Kangal,Kars(similar to Caucasian Ovcharka),A sight hound.And also a Huge Mastiff type dog that often has a similar coat colour to the Kangal.The Mastiffs can weigh up to 200 lb.Anatolian shepherd is a western invention.Some dogs in this clip look to me to be Mastiffs.Not shepherd dogs

@DrDiddle Actually, there are numerous areas in Turkey that breed these guys. Many of the larger, and aggressive Kangals come from Sivas - this area is well known for breeding seriously large, aggressive, and protective Kangals for military, police work, and protection in harsh terrain. The other areas will certainly breed Kangals that are capable to do all the above, but some blood lines are more notorious than others. I got mine from Bursa, and they are small, but I still love them to death

they do not use their jaw power, but fight with their very strong muscles the way dolphins kill the sharks..They hit them very skillfully with their mass body muscles to kill the wolves when they are surrounded with too many..love to see MASTIFF dogs doing that:) or Rotweiler ...

Yes, I believe. Turks won't call it "Anadolu Çoban köpeği - Anatolian Shepherd dog" though. It is known as Kangal or Sivas Kangal in Turkey. Sivas is a city in mid-Anatolia and Kangal is one of its districts. If I were you, I would look for it using "Sivas Kangal", not "Anatolian Shepherd".

ok get this straight i know a lot about dogs especially the hardcore types I,ve been around a lot of dogs and mastiffs,anatolians,wolfhounds and other stuff own. My anatolian and another one of my dogs get in fights sometimes and its bad. smokey my other dog weighs 58 and is more viscious than a pit bull (shes a mix) and she acts like a wolverine. She usually starts it by just attacking him but then he just pins her with one of his massive legs and stares at her until she stops growling.
