yeah, this is a pretty crappy quality recording..but it's cool that gary did it. i met him a few months ago and he's a really down to earth, solid guy.

What an awfull noise and they don't do the song justice,allthough I loved Set the Fire to the Third Bar with Martha Wainwright, but I don't know them well,the liveclip was just poorly made for YouTube,maybe it sounded great at the concert,but I love the classicle piece more. Love to hear an album from Snow Patrol,'cause he does have a great voice,  anyone any suggestions, or is this there debutalbum (with thge song I mentioned). I love Damien Rice and think of course his is the best, but, I love Snow Patrol too, and Gary is a great singer, the quality of this recording if off, but, in spite of this, Gary sounds great, and contrary to some of the comments here, he does have a very emotive voice....

I love both versions of this song...Damien Rice is good, but Gary Lightbody is an amazing performer. I've seen Snow Patrol live twice, and he is incredible to watch. I agree that it would be a better cover if it wasn't live...and I'm pretty sure that Gary could hit the higher notes if he wanted to...he goes pretty high in some of the other SP songs...
