I was in the Holt End against the fence (Palace side :)) and that will be my defining moment in our history, a great occasion (for us) and thank the Liverpool supporters for their good grace in defeat, and have enjoyed the banter with them ever since, it gave us as a club credibiity we craved, that game will live with me forever....thx for posting
I WAS 11 AND REALLY WANTED TO GO TO THAT GAME BUT DAD SAID NO COS OF WHAT HAPPENED EARLIER 9-0 EVEN HAD TICKETS (MY UNCLE IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH AND THE PERSON WHO'S NOT GOAL SIDE IN THE FINAL) WE REALLY DIDNT THINK THAT WE HAD A CHANCE BUT THAT AFTERNOON AS ME AND MY DAD SAT DOWN AND WATCH THE MATCH I SAID TO MY DAD "I THINK PALACE ARE GONNA WIN" AND MY DAD GAVE HIS USUAL DISMISSIVE LAUGH SO I THOUGHT NOTHING MORE OF IT LOOOOOOL
It's that screeching emotional shout for the 4th goal from the commentator of all people....................Pardeeeeeeeeeeeeeew !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was like the commentator was happy it went in. Always remember that was music to my ears because I knew it was only a minute left after that goal !
oh my those were the days. things have changed very mutch because palace cant pack out there stadium now days, and liverpool now would of beat them with out a doubt. and there in finantial trouble wich isnt looking very good, but other than that everything is fine.
cameraman on the pitch is a palace fan

One of the best days of my life. I was out of my head on a 'natural-high' days after, and totally legally too!
I remember Gary O'Reilly post-match comment: "I thought there'd be seven goals scored, but I didn't think four of them would come from Palace" !

As a Liverpool hater in the 1980's, I remember this game as arguably the greatest I have ever seen. Absolutely brilliant.
