Sadly Romania was a coward too in 1885 when Serbia asked us to join the war against Bulgaria. After the anexation of Rumelia the bulgarian disease in the Balkans was too great, not even the 1913 Bucharest Treaty nor the 1919 Neuilly Treaty could stop it. The bigest mistake was in 1885.

Good Job we did a great job kicking the ottomans out and splitting the empire into small countries. There was a revolution in Constantinople at the time, the armanians, kurds were a part of it . we could have made reforms for a more democratic ottoman empire, we could have changed the empire to give more rights to all the ethnic groups in the empire. First balkan war was supported by russia and other western powers, nonetheless 500 years of Ottoman rule on the Balkans ended and soon after WW1 broke loose.
My great grandfathe rfought in that war and the second one. The first one happen because bulgaria refused to leave its army from Thesslonki. What happen was a war. We win and my great granfather has medals from that war. On one side it shows i think the King or Venezelos but on the other Basil The Bulgar Slayer.

You tell me. At the 2nd Balkan War we fought 4 battles,3 of them we won, 1 ended without a victor because of the ceasefire. You had the superior manpower, superior weapons, more skilled generals but we won because of the high morale and fighting capabilities of our troops. That's the only reason why Greece has prevailed over her foes in her recent histories. And at Doyran it was a tactical mistake that led to our defeat, our only defeat against you. That is not true at Kresna it was the Greek king who decided to accept the proposal for peace and that is not because the Greek Army was wining but exactly the oposite.

Please we Bulgaria was accepting and sending peace offers long before Kresna but the Greek king wanted to enter Sofia but when he saw that his army will like perish in the gorge of Kresna and after suffering huge losse he was desperate for the peace conference to start.
We were winning at the battle of Kresna, after our inital attack failed when we beat down your counter attack. And in the other battles YOU were superior in every manner except morale.

Secondly, the battle of Doyran was lost because your positions were bombed and shot by artilery but because you had dug outs we didn't know about you suffered only 40 casualties instead of being routed, as we and the British thought. Then when our troops advanced, expecting no resistance they were ambushed by you. Still, because of our discipline and morale we didn't break but retreated in good order, unlike you, as you broke realy hard during the 2nd Balkan War.
And just so that we are clear, it doesn't mean that I don't respect you. The fact that we beat you in war doesn't mean that you aren't great warriors and that you lack fighting spirit. Second when the Bulgarian offensive at Kresna(that is right the greeks were on the defensive) was just beginig the romanian army was 7km from Sofia and their government was warning that it will take the city if a solution wasn't foun.Also the Greek army as i said was largely superior in numbers in all battles except at Kresna.

First: Ivanov, after his defeat, severly reduced the number of his troops in his AFTER ACTION REPORT, when before the attack everyone knew that we had a very slight numberical advantage. We had 108.000 troops against almost 100.000 of your own. Read the 'a treatise on the Balkan Wars' at the part that describes the second war, which was written by a Bulgarian (let me tell you the name tommorow, I don't remembr it now)
Secondly, only one sub-division was armed with krupp rifles.
First my source is not General Ivanov but the official Army statistic from the general staff which says that the units in the second army had at most around 75.000 men. Second you had your whole army of 120 000 there.
120000 men was almost the entire strength of the greek army, but some units were stationed at Epirus and never saw combat. The numbers we used during he war were 108000 men. And hell, the 2nd army was around 90-95000 men, even maybe as far as 100000, before some were relocated at the serbian front where they helped in tying down the Serbs (for a time)
And it was a Bulgarian soldier that made the story of hill 363 known, where major Beellisarius and his troops destroyed two of your regiments.
Sorry but the Second Army had 2 and a half divisions which same how fall short og the imagined number which the greek command gives. By the way it is natural they exaggerate the Bulgarian Army numbers since the Greek Army suffered more cassualties in this battle then the entire First Balkan War they needed an explenation.
Third Russia was very opposed to a war between bulgaria and Serbia since it would lead to the destruction of the Balkan allience and it didn't support bulgaria in anyway in the war againts greece. The only thing russia did was try to scare the turks with some verbal notes.
The Russians supplied you with weapons, was all I said, they did not intervene. We had to rely on the British that weren't sympathetic at the time and gave us shit.
Like I said, only one sub-division was armed with Krupp rifles due to economic shortages. The others had to make due with older rifles. (almost every unit in the cretan gendarmerie was armed with their grandfather's weapons, ffs)
Plus, at the battle of Kresna we were severly outnumbered by the new armies that had arrived from the Serbian front (where you managed to hold the Serbs) and encircled but beat down your attacks and launched counter-attacks of our own.
Do not mistake small greek LOCAL counter attacks for a grand counter offensive. The bulgarian Army remained on the offensive even at the day the armistice was signed.
I didn't mistake anything and I'm trying to speak the truth. When an army is encircled and outnumbered in such a way everything counts. That they managed to beat you back with heavy losses (our losses were heavy as well, but we were the ones that were encircled) is miracle enough.
And yeah, you were at the offensive but if you continued in such a manner you'd cripple your armies. You would suffer the fate of your 2nd army, who although fought bravely, was defeated
And who told you the Bulgarians were beaten back because that is not true the Bulgarian Units were attacking and advancing until the news of the armistice arrieved.
They were attacking, but their attacks were beaten back. FOR FUCKS SAKE, why are you trying to argue when everything points to the way I'm trying to say? We were encirlced and managed to drive you back. If this doesn't amount to a huge victory, I don't know what does. And we had advanced deep into your territory and would've beaten you once again in Kresna. I mean, you even had to relocate divisions from the Serbian front to face us, despite yourr tactical superiority.
On the contrary nothing points that you are right and the behaviour of the Greek king prooves my opinion is closer to the truth. Why would he be arrogant and stubbern right before the battle and then a few days after it begun he started asking for the armistice to be signed as soon as possible. Because the Greeks were winnig the battle? Obviously not.
Because, a few days before the Battle, the Romanians weren't going to enter Sofia and he had set his sights on as much as he could get. During the battle (even after we destroyed the encirlcement) he l;earned that the Romanians were soon going to take the capital. So, he couldn't claim more than he had already conquered, so there was no point in continuing.
And the third reason is because Austria Hungary and Germany didn't want superpowers in the balkans and pressed Konstantine for ceasfire.
Also if the battle had continued for a day or two the Greek army would have been complitely destroyed that is why the greek king was so eager to conclude an armistice as soon as possible.
He asked for the armstice for three reasons: One, the Romanians would soon enter Sofia and there was nothing more we could gain, since we couldn't reach the capital ourselves intime. The battle of Kresna would've been another victory, for the reasons I mentioned.
Second, Venizelos was the one that pressed for the armstice, because the Brits were critical of our successes. They wanted Greece weak so that they could control us and Venizelos was pro-British, where Konstantine was pro-German

Fourth after Doiran the english and the greek divisions were in such a bad shape that the Bulgarian command proposed a concentrated advance on Salonica with the 9th and 11th divisions which were part of the battle and the Second Army which was not involved in any fighting. Don't be sorry, at least we learn from our mistakes. We cannot erase history, but we can improve it. It is poor that we had to be enemies in the past, but today Bulgaria and Greece are working for the stabilization of the Balkans and try to sort out all previous problems. Your support and that of the Serbians during the first Balkan War was vital for the success over our greatest enemy, the Ottoman Empire. The second Balkan War was the greatest mistake our government has ever done.

First Balkan war happened in 1912, after YoungTurkish (dont know official name of it in english) which was caused when Turkish officiers saw that Turkey was falling appart. Balkan lands saw their opportunity there and stood up together to fight against mutual enemy - Turkey Empire. It was organised and performed by Serbia, and by the plan made by Ilija Garasanin.

Sadly Romania was a coward too in 1885 when Serbia asked us to join the war against Bulgaria. After the anexation of Rumelia the bulgarian disease in the Balkans was too great, not even the 1913 Bucharest Treaty nor the 1919 Neuilly Treaty could stop it. The bigest mistake was in 1885.

However, in the balkan wars, the great powers didn't step in - it's probably the only case in matter in this region. The deciders were Maiorescu, Venizelos, Pasic and Danev

Good Job we did a great job kicking the ottomans out and splitting the empire into small countries. There was a revolution in Constantinople at the time, the armanians, kurds were a part of it . we could have made reforms for a more democratic ottoman empire, we could have changed the empire to give more rights to all the ethnic groups in the empire. Like how the Hungarians in the Austrian empire changed the empire to give them a separate parliament. Look at how poor Balkan countries are now.

My great grandfathe rfought in that war and the second one. The first one happen because bulgaria refused to leave its army from Thesslonki. What happen was a war. We win and my great granfather has medals from that war. On one side it shows i think the King or Venezelos but on the other Basil The Bulgar Slayer.

You tell me. At the 2nd Balkan War we fought 4 battles,3 of them we won, 1 ended without a victor because of the ceasefire. You had the superior manpower, superior weapons, more skilled generals but we won because of the high morale and fighting capabilities of our troops. That's the only reason why Greece has prevailed over her foes in her recent histories. And at Doyran it was a tactical mistake that led to our defeat, our only defeat against you. We won at the Macedonian front though.

At the beginning, when we defeated your surprise attack, then close to the border where we defeated you again, then a few skimirshes and finally the final battle which neveer finished because you capitulated. Secondly, the battle of Doyran was lost because your positions were bombed and shot by artilery but because you had dug outs we didn't know about you suffered only 40 casualties instead of being routed, as we and the British thought. Then when our troops advanced, expecting no resistance they were ambushed by you. Still, because of our discipline and morale we didn't break but retreated in good order, unlike you, as you broke realy hard during the 2nd Balkan War.

Second you seem to forget that Greece wasn't alone in this war but had Serbia,Romania and eventually Turkey on its side. Third againts the Greek army of more then 120,000 the Bulgarians had only their Second Army of less then 80,000 men many of them not well rested since they were fighting with the turks only a month before this war while the greek army had many months to rest.

Second when the Bulgarian offensive at Kresna(that is right the greeks were on the defensive) was just beginig the romanian army was 7km from Sofia and their government was warning that it will take the city if a solution wasn't foun.Also the Greek army as i said was largely superior in numbers in all battles except at Kresna.

Only at the first battle (the battle before the destruction of the 2nd army and your most serious defeat in the balkan wars) we had only a slight numerical advantage, but your surprise attack on ur completely unaware troops (which shoudl've thrown us out of the conflict) was defeated through feats of impossible bravery and skill of arms. First: Ivanov, after his defeat, severly reduced the number of his troops in his AFTER ACTION REPORT, when before the attack everyone knew that we had a very slight numberical advantage. We had 108.000 troops against almost 100.000 of your own. Read the 'a treatise on the Balkan Wars' at the part that describes the second war, which was written by a Bulgarian (let me tell you the name tommorow, I don't remembr it now)
Secondly, only one sub-division was armed with krupp rifles.

First my source is not General Ivanov but the official Army statistic from the general staff which says that the units in the second army had at most around 75.000 men. Second you had your whole army of 120 000 there.

120000 men was almost the entire strength of the greek army, but some units were stationed at Epirus and never saw combat. The numbers we used during he war were 108000 men. And hell, the 2nd army was around 90-95000 men, even maybe as far as 100000, before some were relocated at the serbian front where they helped in tying down the Serbs (for a time)
And it was a Bulgarian soldier that made the story of hill 363 known, where major Beellisarius and his troops destroyed two of your regiments.

Sorry but the Second Army had 2 and a half divisions which same how fall short og the imagined number which the greek command gives. By the way it is natural they exaggerate the Bulgarian Army numbers since the Greek Army suffered more cassualties in this battle then the entire First Balkan War they needed an explenation.

Third Russia was very opposed to a war between bulgaria and Serbia since it would lead to the destruction of the Balkan allience and it didn't support bulgaria in anyway in the war againts greece. The only thing russia did was try to scare the turks with some verbal notes.

The Russians supplied you with weapons, was all I said, they did not intervene. We had to rely on the British that weren't sympathetic at the time and gave us shit.
Like I said, only one sub-division was armed with Krupp rifles due to economic shortages. The others had to make due with older rifles. (almost every unit in the cretan gendarmerie was armed with their grandfather's weapons, ffs)

I didn't mistake anything and I'm trying to speak the truth. When an army is encircled and outnumbered in such a way everything counts. That they managed to beat you back with heavy losses (our losses were heavy as well, but we were the ones that were encircled) is miracle enough.
And yeah, you were at the offensive but if you continued in such a manner you'd cripple your armies. You would suffer the fate of your 2nd army, who although fought bravely, was defeated

Because, a few days before the Battle, the Romanians weren't going to enter Sofia and he had set his sights on as much as he could get. During the battle (even after we destroyed the encirlcement) he l;earned that the Romanians were soon going to take the capital. So, he couldn't claim more than he had already conquered, so there was no point in continuing.
And the third reason is because Austria Hungary and Germany didn't want superpowers in the balkans and pressed Konstantine for ceasfire.

He asked for the armstice for three reasons: One, the Romanians would soon enter Sofia and there was nothing more we could gain, since we couldn't reach the capital ourselves intime. The battle of Kresna would've been another victory, for the reasons I mentioned.
Second, Venizelos was the one that pressed for the armstice, because the Brits were critical of our successes. They wanted Greece weak so that they could control us and Venizelos was pro-British, where Konstantine was pro-German

Fourth after Doiran the english and the greek divisions were in such a bad shape that the Bulgarian command proposed a concentrated advance on Salonica with the 9th and 11th divisions which were part of the battle and the Second Army which was not involved in any fighting. The German command however disagreed and no attempt was ever made which was a great blunder.

Now here with the starting and losing wars I am not sure. The only war we started was the second Balkan war in 1913. Serbia attacks Bulgaria in 1885 and looses and its army is crushed on the battlefield near Slivnitza. 9 years before that Bulgarian partisans and troops helped the Serbians in the battle of Nis against the Ottomans. The history of Balkans in this period:
First Balkan war happened in 1912, after YoungTurkish (dont know official name of it in english) which was caused when Turkish officiers saw that Turkey was falling appart. Balkan lands saw their opportunity there and stood up together to fight against mutual enemy - Turkey Empire. It was organised and performed by Serbia, and by the plan made by Ilija Garasanin.
That is the First Balkan War.

1. If it wasn't for the greek navy the turkish fleet would've ressuplied the frontline and sent more reinforcement, condemning our common cause to failure.
2. The Greek army managed to impossibly defeat the extremely well made turkish defensive positions at northern Thessaly, Macedonia and Epirus (they were german made and were said to become 'the grave of the greek army) and tied up many ottoman divisions from attacking you.

You are writing as if you fought alone! In 1912 it was Bulgaria + Greece + Serbia + Montenegro vs tyhe Ottoman Empire! In 1913 it was Serbia+Greece+Romania+the Ottoman Empire+ Montenegro vs Bulgaria! In 1941 Greece was occupied and if it was not for the final victory of the USSR,Britain,the USA etc, now things would have been very different. Learn some real history.

is that what they teach you in your so called schools?As Ottoman Empire was falling apart Bulgarians,Greeks and Albanians started to fight against each other in order to conquere the parts of Macedonia which was being liberated by brave greek army...you bulgarians always sided with the greek enemies so you could get a way out to the aegean but we blocked you for good!!

in 1912 Greece was fighting against Bulgaria,Turkey and Albania at the same time and yet we won!!in 1940 Greece was fighting against Italy,Albania,Bulgaria and others and yet we won again at the end!!!
