  • Great documentry and information I have never heard from ordinary Polish people who seem to not care so much as the Germans began transporting all the jews out of their cities. They just got what was left of empty homes and not much else. Of course, different times and lives back then.

  • Incredible, from beginning to end. Thank you. Cried, through a lot of it. Man is evil by nature,so, let this never happen again......with the realization it's happening now and it must stop!

  • Thank you! Danke! Dziekuje! A sheynem dank! ... for uploading this movie, sternwolf, and a big Merci for Mr. Lanzmann!

I watched the 59 episodes in the last two nights, and lost many tears.. I watched many documentarys and read a lot of books about the Holocaust, but this movie is special..

Few days ago, i read that in january 2012 was a poll in Germany and Poland and that 1/5 of the young people between 19-29 don´t know what the word "Auschwitz" mean.. What a shame! The world must never forget

  • I am just sick to my stomach, I have no comments yet. What will all the comments in the world do now? Anger, hate to all those who participated to the death of the Jews no matter how small a part. Shame on you! Revenge is my only hope for you. Not forgetfulness, not forgiveness. No, you should have gotten exactly what you did to the Jews. If not I hope you will get it after death.

  • thank you, claude lanzmann. thank you for this important document, this great light.

  • Here are the greatest Holocaust movie I've seen

    SHOAH

    COME AND SEE

    THE GREY ZONE

So long is the time I used to hail Schindler's list as a great movie

To all fairness Schindler's list did introduce me to Holocaust- themed movie

It's a good movie but not great

  • Break my heart!

  • Thanks Ignaty!

  • Bewegend, herzzerreißend.

  • Thank you!

  • He was obligated to mention about Irena Sendler. He didn't. Why?

Irena Sendler saved 2,500 Jewish children by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto, providing them with false documents, and sheltering them in individual and group children's homes outside the Ghetto.

In occupied Poland rescuing Jews was dangerous. All household members were punished by death if a Jew was found concealed in their home, property.

    Check wikipedia Irena Sendler

    She wasn't only one...

  • "Righteous among the Nations"

Polish citizens have the world's highest count of individuals awarded medals of Righteous among the Nations, given by the State of Israel to non-Jews who saved Jews from extermination during the Holocaust. There are 6,266 Polish men and women recognized as "Righteous" to this day, amounting to over 25 per cent of the total number of 22,765 honorary titles awarded

Check wikipedia: Righteous among the Nations

    Now you can judge Poles...

  • @spoilvictor

yes, but those righteous were the exception, and many of them did it for money. moreover, the poles may have had the world's highest count of individuals awarded medals for rescuing jews, compared to other nations, but this is due to the great population of jews in poland compared to the other countries in europe, which also means, unfortunately, that the poles also had the highest count of the betrayal of jews during the holocaust.

  • Brilliant ending; unsettling, remote and evocative all at once. "I am the last Jew. And I will wait until morning and for the Germans"; so ironic for he isn't the last. He survived and the oral tradition of witnessing continues. Meanwhile, the trains roll on. . .

  • And thank you once more to you, sternwolf, for uploading all the segments. I haven't seen the film since I watched it in 1986 or 87, and when I looked for a DVD copy I found it is out of print. Thank goodness for YouTube.

  • Great ending. 350 hours of tape down to 9 hours of a wonderful documentary. Bravo, Mr. Lanzmann. Bravo.

  • It took me a few weeks, but I watched the entire film. Truly incredible movie. Thanks for uploading, sternwolf.

  • Being French, being called "Jan", I am extremely proud that a fellow citizen of mine made this monumental film, decisive for the human race as a whole. I would have hoped a Pole or a German would have made this film, but I guess they're more keen on conveniently dismissing the holocaust as being part of the past, and on proclaiming their newly discovered wishes for a stronger brotherhood amongst human beings.

  • So, it's 08:58 A.M. finally watched the whole epic documentary, with just few short breaks less than 5 minutes off of it and what an experience this was. Thank you so much for posting!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS DOCUMENTAL

  • Now I understand why Lanzmann chose this interview for the end. What he could not show in the other 30 hours because it was just impossible, at least and at last it could happen in the last minutes: dignity, being prepared to die with dignity. " At one point I recall feeling a kind of peace, of serenity. I said to my self: I am the last Jew, I´ll wait for the morning and for the Germans" GREAT END

  • 66,000ish people started to watch this documentary only 5000ish finished it. Most gave up after 3parts. Poor effort.

  • @zmackoviak lol @fox news...i got ur point though...like i said b4,back then was good n bad everywhere.....all over europe.

  • Thanks for downloading this. The world must never forget. Sad to see the first part of the series get 57 thousand views and now here at the end 4 thousand. Makes me wonder how many have seen the entire documentary like I did. Perhaps people want to see the horror and not hear it?

I hope I will be a better person having seen/heard this.

  • @zmackoviak

What a thing to say. The US was complicit in this Shoa also. Don't you dare brandish nationalism. Yes-Poles were guilty. As guilty as the rest of us.

  • Now delete my comment, eliminate ! - it will read, in German: "Kommentar entfernt" ("Comment eliminated")

thanks for this film , Lanzmann, perhaps the best film ever , ever !

HOW can ever be peace among this planets inhabitants ?

Die Herrenmenschen sind überall, the Overlords are allover ..

  • @wyssling

  • The greatest gift that the survivors could do is to testify to the truth of what happened to the Jewish people during the holocaust. It was a miracle that any survived at all. May this tragedy never happen again. For those who do not learn from the past are deemed to repeat it. NEVER AGAIN

  • @angelamwatts it has happened again...rwanda,bosnia,iraq,guatemala.sure,the numbers were not so big as here, but genocide is genocide...

  • @desireejoyorozco Yes, I am aware that it has happened again but I pray that it stops. Thanks for correcting me.

  • The nazis denied the jews of their existence. The holocaust deniers deny the world of the truth of their plight which ultimately lead to their demise. After seeing this film, to deny the holocaust is not only untrue but a mockery to those who perished in it. These deniers subsequently contribute to the final solution. Hitler wanted to exterminate the existence of the Jewish people and the holocaust deniers want us to believe that the Jewish victims never existed at all!

  • Thank you.

  • Thank you very for this informative and moving documentary. Never again!

  • So is this the very end, or is there another part after this?

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for posting this.
