Wow ok lol well at sths we do kinda use more of the field. But that only because of our size we are a 2a but maily in our comp we have to march 3a and surprise we beat some of them... But what can I say were HUGE lol but yeah I hope that this year they will do good and I mad to hear that finals isn't gonna be there..and that they are now a 1a school well..Gook luck every1 hope yhu make it to finals

i would like 2 say it was really childish for me to post things like i did on here but as we all know everyband will have a rival and batesburg-leesville just so happens to be ours! we would all like to say sorry about the rude things we have said and we have been informed to stop and to just take it out on the field this year so once again i am truly sorry and good luck this year!

@daddysgirl29615 Incase you can't tell by the field, there was pretty much a monsoon during warmup. We really only got to warmup for about 10 minutes. The field was extremely soaked, and muddy making it very hard to march. So under those conditions it was a pretty good run.

CHERAW was like so better then this.. this junk is LAME!! our show was like the best of '09 and everybody in the crowd knew it! yall only came in 2nd place because thats yall home town and plus yall won last year and that would of looked really bad 4 yall 2 come in a lower place.. right?? RIGHT!!

@chsbrave2716 ....well okay I tried really hard not to respond to this because it seems like you are just trying to make up excuses as to why your band didn't win. Obviously if the judges thought yall were the best band you wouldn't have come in 5th place. This comment also shows that you have some really bad sportsmanship problems. The judges did not know that Batesburg Leesville won last year so what difference does it make that they won and it is their home field.

Ok, I have to respond to this. i am pretty irritated by people that demean the work of my students. Batesburg-Leesville has never once said a negative comment about Cheraw, and had I heard one, I would have taken care of it. I HAD the upmost respect for Cheraw, and the STAFF at Cheraw, as one of them actually taught me in high school.

In my eyes, this comment gives your band a negative image, which is sad. Out of respect for the arts, I would have done anything for your program

Now, I will have to say my opinions have changed. At Lowerstate, I made a point to come in the stands and watch your performance. I was impressed, and I passed along the compliments towards your program. I have tried to ignore the repeated negativity I have experienced from people associated with your program and attribute it to disappointment, however it has become downright rude.

Hahaha, thanks. Yeah, I think we're going to be the biggest school in the 3A grouping next year, we missed 4A by 5 people for our school attendance zone.

You guys were awesome at lower state, we all loved you and you definitely deserved 1st. We couldn't believe it when you guys only came in 5th at state.

i marched with this band a few years. I transferred schools and left them in 08 so i didnt get to march that year, and this past year i had already graduated. Allison Turner is an excellent flute player and drum major. She did a fantastic job and i wish i could have been there when she was conducting. Also, Paxton dd a great job teaching all these kids. Keep it up BLHS, especially all mah homies in the low brass!

Actually I'm not in this band, I just liked their show.

I'm actually in a band that's moving up to either 3A or 4A next year. Ashley Ridge, It will be our bands 2nd year of existence

this show made me livid when i saw those huge matts at lower state competition. i think that gave an unfair advantage to B-L letting them march around only a small area of the field Strom thurmond moves around the whole dang field while yall just stay in a little space of the field.

I don't realy think it made a differance....they marched in pretty much the average marching area pretty much the same as STHS, I don't think having it outlined made a differance.

Besides, it all depends on how complicated the Drill/ Music is

@meis2steph11 The mats were not that large, and did not take up much of the field. When you have a band with numbers like they have, you don't have the advantage of using the entire field. Plus, I would have to say the difficulty of the drill they did in the space they used made up for it.

yeah i remember when we played it was kinda strange when we got on the field and there was like 10 inches of water that we had to march through but i thought we did really well all things considered i mean i was jacked after we played and was a little dissipointed in 2nd my last year

I wouldn't be dissapointed about your placement at all. Pendleton, the State Champions, won with a show that they had previously done back in 2004. Recycled shows are not hardly original, but BL's was original and very well performed....

I play Alto sax for the Ashley Ridge band, we went right after you at lower state. It was kind of intimidating having to go on right after you guys, especially since it was our band's first time at state comp.

You guys were awsome, this was one of my favorite shows this year..

Our school wouldn't be good for marching competition, there's not enough trees and stuff to block sound, It's just open air all over the grounds.

The layout of our school would be great for concert festival though. I wouldn't be suprised if they had it there sometime.
