  • what brand/model whas your stainles .357?

  • i love the 1911 and most single actions revolvers

  • Man I hate our stupid gun laws :( But I'm pretty sure if you own property out of city limits you can shoot on your own property :) Thunder Bay is a PITA to go shoot any restricted firearms though

  • Very informative and well spoken. I went to my first gun store today and the .357 was actually what I was looking at. Felt very good in my hands. Thank you for this video.

  • love that you are in Canada, but still lovin Texas with your shirt. TEXAS RULES!!

  • You can't beat a .357 mag. Plink with .38 spl and power up on .357 .. Great video.

  • @BobbyIronsights how cheap is ammo for the 357 magnum?

  • hell yeah my first pistol was a s&w model 19

  • Cowboys and Indians it is. Thanks.

  • i thought handguns in general were illegal in canada. great video though

  • was the second one a tokerev

  • @MsJimpy Yup. Sharp eyes.

  • great vid man

  • I love shooting, and up till recently I was thinking about starting hunting with my father, but Im not really into killing. So pistol target shooting seems to me like a natural way to go next.

Very helpful advice that I will take with me when and if I decide to follow though :)

    So thanks!

  • it should be a glock 18!! fu*k yeah!!!!

  • I disagree on the first pistol instead of a semi-automatic id suggest what i did for my first pistol and get a single shot or single action .22 pistol it teaches you patience when shooting and just as accurate

  • @gunsmith93

If I lived in the states and could shoot in a backyard with a safe backstop I'd agree, but in Canada, there are far too few pistol ranges, often quite a drive away, thus my airgun recommendation. I agree with patience being a requisite for shooting though.

  • Why would you collect your brass??

  • @epicprodigy2014 Some ranges require you to for one. And you can reload bullets.

  • @epicprodigy2014 I meant, and you can reload the brass.

  • Can't forget about how you can use cheaper .38 special to practice with in that .357magnum.

  • Good Advice

  • A 22 is a great gun for an amatuer to learn off but it's useless in self defense. Magnum revolver (38 special practice) is a great idea.

  • @VinnyS914 i disagree. if someone were going to hurt you and you put any kind of bullet in their kneecap, they'll stop.

  • killers use revolvers so the wont have to chase brass for forensics misleading

  • what does single stack mean?

  • @zukazamammee

Single stack means the rounds are fed single file up a magazine, as opposed to double stack, which means the rounds are placed into alternating stack as they are loaded.

Obviously, single stacks have a lower capacity than double stack magazines of similar length.

  • @UCSPanther20

you forgot to say about guns with single stack mags having thiner grips because the mag are almost half the thickness witch makes them a good choice for people with smaller hands and for women now please dont jump on me saying that you have big hands and you like the thiner grips because im the same way but when i take new people out shooting i find that some find the handguns with double stack mags are to big for them to get a good grip on

  • @paintballrasman

No offense taken. I completely forgot about that when I made that post.

The pistol that I am most familiar with is the Walther P1, a post war copy of the P38. It has reasonably thick grips, but is a single-stacker as you probably are aware of.

  • @paintballrasman I agree. You make a valid point.

  • Great vids, all of them !

Keep up the great work, cheers!

  • I feel sorry for you canadians

  • @collinis1 I feel sorry for Americans, who can't get their healthcare together, I could never live in the states with a decent standard of living, having easily a million dollars worth of healthcare expenses over my lifetime. As is, I'm working towards law school after being a high-school dropout and working as a bricklayer until I broke my back.

  • @BobbyIronsights I ment about your gun laws. gosh good luck on law school, Im a lawyer myself for 18 years. by the way my health care is fine and I have a 2 mil house because I work hard and didnt drop out of highschool

  • @collinis1 That's kind of the problem, the rich do well, and everyone else gets stuffed. But thank you for your best wishes in law school. We've got both common law, and civil law (Napoleonic code) traditions here in Canada, so it can get complicated.

  • Healthcare isn't great here in the US, but it's not too bad. The one time I had a problem with it was when my ex got dropped by medicaid. She's a diabetic and needs insulin to survive. Thankfully the company who makes her insulin stepped in and said they would give it to her for free. But the gun laws in Canada sound crazy. When I lived in Texas there were a few towns I noticed that weapon laws were not enforced. You could own and carry with you anything you wanted because the police didnt care

  • @kickkmyfaceinn I don't agree with "free" healthcare. It helps foster irresponsibility. As an independent insurance broker, I often see people who say the cannot afford insurance, but they buy new iPhones, have cars which they pay $500/mo for, ect. If they want to be irresponsible, it's their choice. The government cannot protect us from our own stupidity (which is why I'm 100% against any gun control or drug prohibition). As for people with preexisting conditions, there are numerous charities.

  • @collinis1 You've been a lawyer for 18 years yet you can't spell "meant" or "high school" correctly or type with proper punctuation? Yeaa... I wouldn't hire you.

  • what type of bullet the smith wession carry

  • @theGaryBhullar1 "bullet"? Well, my personal favorite with the Dan Wesson (not smith and wesson) was a .358 diameter full wadcutter, soft lead, tumble lube bullet, 158 grains, loaded over 4.6 grains of Clays shotgun powder, with CCI small magnum pistol primers .

  • i decided to buy a ruger mark III

  • @tripplenipple100 Sounds like a good decision.

  • Hey yeah! .357 revolver and .357 Desert Eagle. That's a nice one two punch.

  • your vidsare the best . hw much do u spend on guns?

  • @jeffnerohardy1995 Too damned much.

  • Wouldn't you need an rpal license for handguns in Canada? How would you go to get one?

  • yup. It was easy, I wrote both tests at the same time. Cost 80 bucks or so if I remember correctly. Call the CSSA or the NFA, to find a local tester.

  • @deerocks13 Call your local gunshop to find out when they next hold classes.

  • i like your thorough explanation, the only thing i would recommend is to keep non reloaders in mind.

  • I did, when I mentioned rimfire. I've never met anyone rich enough to shoot centerfire regularly without reloading.

  • What .357 mag. is that? Nice video sir.

  • Thanks, it's a Dan Wesson stainless target pistol, with the interchangeable barrel system. One of my prized possessions.

  • lol confetti rounds, y'know good for kids' birthday parties

  • do .45 pistols give a lot of recoil

  • well if you dont handle it properly then yes

  • Confetti rounds? those sound like fun

  • how are you geting your pistols??i thought you couldnt anymore in canada, im trying to buy one ilegaly to have cause i love the pure mechanics...man you have three of my favourite guns

  • I wouldn't bother with breaking the law. It cost me two afternoons of study, and 60 bucks to take my non-restricted and restricted (pistol) tests, then 75 bucks and 6 weeks wait to get the licenses. The licenses are good for five years. It was that easy.

  • yeah im doing that but..the problem is they cost money lol alought...how much did the 45, 357 and eagle cost

  • Well, the .45 was 400, the 357 was 550, and the deagle was almost a grand.

  • Where Abouts Are You in Canada???

  • I'm in Thunder Bay, you?

  • I'm In Owen Sound Your Vidz Are Awsome Man You Seem Very Educated About Firearms POST MORE!!!

  • It's funny how you just bring up the desert eagle casually like it's no big deal. your videos are are really good, I hope to see more in the future.

  • I'm enjoying your vids! - well done and informative.

You'll get less nervous with practice :) Just like anything. You've got a bit of a natural flair for it - you should be making more of them.

  • Awesome, I'm really glad you like it, I get nervous in front of the camera and forget things. For instance, I forgot to mention that the price of rimfire ammo has almost tripled in the past 6 or 7 years, so it's not as affordable as it used to be.

  • Cue cards! Or, you know, just a list of the points you want to get to. I wouldn't worry about referring to it while shooting the vid ... your presentation is good, and you'll make sure you address all your points.

  • great video, now i just have to convince my father to buy a pistol
