genetics are amazing! even though his body size is different, he has the same little hitch steps that kept his father's center of gravity so steady, and gave him the ability to explode and make tacklers miss.
Archie Manning played for the shitty Saints, but it's like he paid the ransom for his kids, two superbowl winning MVPs isn't bad for one family. Maybe Barry Jr gets a Dallas Cowboys Emmit Smith Line if he makes it to the pros, and then we see some ridiculous numbers from Jr.
Arkansas is a good Fit for him. They have been WILD the last three - four years Darren Mcfadden JUST SAYING! the run game is looked up upon in Arkansas.
@jwb864 well, it was an important touchdown in the state semi-finals, and he was only a freshman. look at his 2010 highlights, he doesnt celebrate anymore.
@jaymitch23 no, that's just where you want him to go. He's actually expressed interest in Arkansas. But I wouldn't be surprised if he went to Okla State like his dad.
@SECISBEAST Bama would win the BCS NC in a heartbeat if that happens. I pray he doesn't commit to Bama though. Im an LSU and longhorns fan haha. He's going to be just as good or better than his dad.
@bigdawg3511 Those are incredibly strong words to say about someone who isn't even in college yet. His dad is potentially the greatest RB of all time and you're gonna say he's going to be just as good, if not better? That's one of the most ignorant statements I've heard in a long time. I hope that one day he can be as good as his dad, but let's be honest.. there has never been ANYONE like Barry. If Sanders Jr. is someday in the position his dad was, I hope he makes it, but doubtful...
@LaPalaDiN He is just as good. I'm going to watch him play tonight. You just saw a Junior is high school do things few can do. He is also an excellent receiver.
first of all it was not a dance at the end,he was just happy he got the td,look at the play guys,he almost tackle and got free so stfu with that sh1t,and i wish the real barry sanders the dad didnt retire so soon sad,he had like a great 3 years left in his legs, but good luck barry jr,i say if he can put up a few 1000 yard seasons in the nfl he did good lets not compare legends to thier sons, like mj and ect,bc that is bs,legends are legends, dont mean they make legends, but good luck lil barry
@MrBigmike420 Definitely. If Crowell goes to UGA I think that would put us in very good position to land sanders next year. Main competition may be against OSU but from what I have seen most players tend to shy away from their fathers school to make their own mark on another school.
You can't give all of the credit to "natural born talent". He wouldn't be anywhere today without hard work, motivation and focused dedication his entire life trying to get out from underneath his father's shadow. I don't envy being in that position.
I've seen him speak in interviews though, and he's a classy guy just like his dad. I'll be following this kid's career, and I sincerely hope he does well.
he's going to be just like his Dad, he's going to have a nice college and pro career if he does anything close to what his Dad did at OSU and with the Lions.
"DO NOT TOUCH HIM, DETROIT LIONS. Do you hear me? Your ineptitude has already cost us several years of quality Barry Sanders viewing, and if you mess with Barry Jr.'s career, it won't just be the people of Detroit who hate you, it'll be all of us. " MJD
In one of Barry Sanders Jr. interviews he says his dad never really gives him football advice and he'll only say little things like good job. I think he's giving him the tough, quiet love Barry Sanders father used to give him. I remember him always saying his dad would never push him or even said anything but always expected the best of him and never congratulated him. He even said Jim Brown was the best running back of all-time. Lol what a dick.
We'll never see Barry Sanders run a football again but this is the next closest thing. His son. I hope he makes it to the NFL and becomes a stud just like his father.
@IamTheKing9 No, It goes Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, Gale Sayers, Marcus Allen, Earl Campbell, Thurman Thomas, and Eric Dickerson. Maybe the list is a little debatable down the stretch but Jim Brown can't be #1 anymore. At least admit that Walter Payton and Gale Sayers (Not a Bears fan, but Jets fan) are better than him.
Jim Brown played in a time where nobody was prepared for that kind of talent. He destroyed defenses because there was still a bunch of slow white dudes in the NFL...All I'm saying is when the greatest defensive player of all time- Lawrence Taylor says that Barry Sanders is the greatest than you take that to heart and crown the friggin man. Barry is the GOAT and no other. Nobody has more yards in 10 years than barry and only Jim Brown avg. 5 yards per carry just like Barry did.
If I were Mike Gundy of OSU I would straight for Jr. I mean as QB at OSU, Gundy had for the years he was there Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders in his backfield. We know how they did in the pros, but I bet you anything Gundy is itching his finger to get Jr to play at OSU.
The fact Barry Jr. is dominating at the high school level shows he's at least got D1 college football talent. If he can dominate there, we'll know if he's an NFL player.
wont translate on next level....comp is really bad..I mean really. He's nothing like his dad....no way at all...different body types and all, and anybody who knows football knows a body type is conduvice to the type of runner one has the ability to become.
An NFL Hall Of Famer's son can do well in the NFL. Look at Kellen Winslow Jr he's a former Pro Bowler and is still a very good TE. Howie Long's son is gonna be alot better this year too. It's the NBA players kids that don't do well.
@86pimp3 I agree, although Dell Curry's son, Stephen, is doing pretty well, even though Dell wasn't a Hall of Famer, he still was pretty good. Same goes for Joe "Jellybean" Bryant and Kobe.
@paclives692002 Have not seen a running back in the NFL to have the vision that Barry Sanders had. AP is close, but Its a bit early to compare both of them.

And barry sanders son... i wonder if any or all of em gona ever crumble under the presure of be good like there fathers or uncles. we just gona have to wait n see. but this kid is dam good. i just hope detriot dont end up with him some how.
w8 dam dis is actually barry sanders son?? damn thats sick he will only get better as he gets older so might turn out like his dad.... n i can c is not following his fathers footsteps when he gets in d endzone
@YungIce36 actually he does, just look at some other vids... haha its not like he ohco cinco'ed all in that dudes face, he was just happy he pwned em... and his dad is barry effin sanders!!! omg!!
looks good to me hell, i can't stand it when people get on here talking down about these kids who are doing big things. I mean sure, you have the right to voice your own opinion but there's a point where it's just pure hating. i'm sure this kid will get several offers (osu im sure) and he'll probably have a good if not great college career and so forth. Do I think he'll ever live up to his dad's legacy? naw (chang248, i think about jarrett payton all the time and the pressure he probably felt)
I think Jarrett Payton has talent (Having seen him play live), but he's never really gotten a true chance to start, or make an impact. He's not in the same league as his dad was, obviously, but I think he's a pretty good player.
He will get faster as he gets older trust me, Runs just like his dad, he even makes cuts like him. And for ppl who said barry sanders was never fast, have you ever seen his highlight reel? this kid could be pretty special if he turns out like his dad
if you want to see the best high school running back in Oklahoma go check out Zack Langer Jenks Oklahoma Junior highlights plays division 6A, and put up 2,346 yards, 38 TD's last season.
What other high schools were recruiting him before he went to jenks? For those who don't know, Jenks and Tulsa Union have an unusual number of athletes "move" to their district. It's hard to prove any wrongdoing, but everyone knows they do it. If Moore or Edmond hadn't split into 3 schools each, they could compete also.
It's funny how some of these people are saying he is too slow.. He was a FRESHMAN in this video, which he has many more years to grow into his body which he will certainly get faster.. I ran a 4.9 at his age and by the time I was a senior i could run a 4.5..
You see he didn't catch him. He wasn't right on him. You could see he was starting to get seperation. If the field wasn't so small eventually the difference would have been alot bigger.
leave it to a youtuber to find some dumb shit to say on an amazing run. he just jumped over some nigga and you expect him to be able to take off at full speed? didnt you notice the gap between him and #52 was growing???
he's on a sophomore here tho, he could get faster but your right he should be able to blow away high school lb's if he's to be a star in college or nfl
I not trying to knock him what so ever. He will be highly recuited....but he is in a 2A school. You would think that his dad would want him in a 5A HS program
He goes to Herritage Hall, which is a presitigous private high school with a very go track record in academics. Its smart to go to this school, so he can get a good education
genetics and tallent is all good, but the most important thing is skill . you are not born with it. we learn it. looks like barry junior has been training hard. hopefully he will continue to do that
word to the last guy, ur usually never better than your father was, especially if he was a Hall of damn Famer, i dont think he'll come close to the prowess of Mr. Sanders during the late 80's and 90's no one like him again.
The only way he can be better than his dad is if he comes to Detroit... Barry Sr dipped on us on the eve of training camp...i still have nightmares about that day...
Oklahoma has sent too much talent to the lions over the years if you ask me. Sanders, Owens... Both amazing backs, neither added up for much cause the lions suck so bad.
Well....let us hope his son can carry on the legacy. The legacy of elusiveness! Even if Jr ends up on the Cowboys, and I hate the Cowboys, I'm going to love watching this guy break legs.
hes got great potential to create his own style and identity but hes nothing like his dad, nothing personal its just that nobody is or ever will be barry sanders. barry was just special
The kid will probably turn out to be an average college, maybe even a decent pro back. But there's only one Barry Sanders....one in a billion are born with that level of speed, agility, and acceleration.
what celebration? there was no cell phone no dance. he just flexed and screamed. it wasnt directed at anyone imparticular. give the kid a break hes a sophmore in highschool. if it was a problem im sure the refs would have said something. everyone is always trying to find flaws. but right now he is having fun. let him have fun stop acting like he plays for the lions and get a life. all of u!
He seems to be bigger than his daddy. Not sure dad would approve of that celebration either. Any predictions on where he'll end up - Okla St like his father?
How do you know his fundamentals are not greater then his dad? There are tons of super stars who just dont have the fundamentals. I am sure he is more mature and better at this age then his father. He has his father to coach him and help him and make him better then he was. Barry Sr. didnt have a Hall of Fame RB for a father to learn from.
cdmish i'm just saying he got one good run in the game, just cause his dad is sanders doesnt mean he's the amazing guy his dad was
the reason they won that game is because of their quarterback, who was really freaking awesome to watch but he's at college now(Rice) along with several of his Senior team mates
i do hope we play Haritage Hall/Barry again tho, maybe then the headline on Yahoo! will say "Lincoln Christian School beats Sanders in State Finals" but i doubt it
@linconbuldog: He wasn't even their 1st string RB and you are bragging about holding him to under 100yrds? Who won the game? lol... that's what I thought.
The guy gets one big run and its on yahoo's front page and has one million and a half hits on YouTube because his last name is Sanders, we held him to under 100 yards that game and that was his only TD by the way! He only had 12 TD's all season long.
our running back had 5 TD's in our first game this season and he only played the first half!!!
I hope we play them again in the playoffs, it was a great game
wow, a total hater......he's 15 years old and he'll be playing in the NFL while the guys on your team will be reliving their hs glory days at walmart.
Where ever he goes I hope it is not the Lions. They will forever be the team that ended Barry Sanders Sr career because of money issues. They cheated the world because of their stubborness
#52 was hustling..lol

It's hard to prove any wrongdoing, but everyone knows they do it. If Moore or Edmond hadn't split into 3 schools each, they could compete also.

It's funny how some of these people are saying he is too slow.. He was a FRESHMAN in this video, which he has many more years to grow into his body which he will certainly get faster.. I ran a 4.9 at his age and by the time I was a senior i could run a 4.5..

You see he didn't catch him. He wasn't right on him. You could see he was starting to get seperation. If the field wasn't so small eventually the difference would have been alot bigger.
jsmasterlubu3 2 years ago
leave it to a youtuber to find some dumb shit to say on an amazing run. he just jumped over some nigga and you expect him to be able to take off at full speed? didnt you notice the gap between him and #52 was growing???
OllieScene20 2 years ago 2
he's on a sophomore here tho, he could get faster but your right he should be able to blow away high school lb's if he's to be a star in college or nfl
birdsofbalt 2 years ago
@ILoveMusic5252 Barry Sanders never had blazing speed, he had could speed but people could catch him from behind.

I not trying to knock him what so ever. He will be highly recuited....but he is in a 2A school. You would think that his dad would want him in a 5A HS program
NEDhardly84 2 years ago
He goes to Herritage Hall, which is a presitigous private high school with a very go track record in academics. Its smart to go to this school, so he can get a good education

It's no wonder he's good. He's the son of a legend. He has natural born talent.
Supersoldierstar12 2 years ago 19
genetics and tallent is all good, but the most important thing is skill . you are not born with it. we learn it. looks like barry junior has been training hard. hopefully he will continue to do that
avalsonline 1 year ago
If he goes Pro, it'll be due to hype from his father's legacy.

word to the last guy, ur usually never better than your father was, especially if he was a Hall of damn Famer, i dont think he'll come close to the prowess of Mr. Sanders during the late 80's and 90's no one like him again.

i almost punched the t.v when stuart scott annouced barry sanders retired, so i jus cried my eyes out..
paynelee7 2 years ago
he probably won't be as good as barry sr., but i read he has better size, and the jump cuts and footwork are outstanding in his videos.
haphaestusmm 2 years ago
The only way he can be better than his dad is if he comes to Detroit... Barry Sr dipped on us on the eve of training camp...i still have nightmares about that day...
victhibeaut 2 years ago
Oklahoma has sent too much talent to the lions over the years if you ask me. Sanders, Owens... Both amazing backs, neither added up for much cause the lions suck so bad.
kidrodelo5 2 years ago
barry sr. would probably shoot jr. before letting him come to detroit. but i did hear he was visiting Michigan.

BigAlbinoDonky 2 years ago 3
what celebration? there was no cell phone no dance. he just flexed and screamed. it wasnt directed at anyone imparticular. give the kid a break hes a sophmore in highschool. if it was a problem im sure the refs would have said something. everyone is always trying to find flaws. but right now he is having fun. let him have fun stop acting like he plays for the lions and get a life. all of u!
therealmryeah 2 years ago
He seems to be bigger than his daddy. Not sure dad would approve of that celebration either. Any predictions on where he'll end up - Okla St like his father?

OUfan316 2 years ago
How do you know his fundamentals are not greater then his dad? There are tons of super stars who just dont have the fundamentals. I am sure he is more mature and better at this age then his father. He has his father to coach him and help him and make him better then he was. Barry Sr. didnt have a Hall of Fame RB for a father to learn from.
tharoachkilla 2 years ago
It's not like Barry Sr. didn't have anyone his older brother Byron played in the NFL for years.
clack13 2 years ago
He's a bit more of a celebrator than his dad was and he runs more upright.
MrsGrumpy4 2 years ago
This is exactly what I thought after watching this.
DexterousGamer 2 years ago
Nobody can be like "The Human Joy Stick" like his dad,but he will get close to it.
drak23h 2 years ago
cdmish i'm just saying he got one good run in the game, just cause his dad is sanders doesnt mean he's the amazing guy his dad was
the reason they won that game is because of their quarterback, who was really freaking awesome to watch but he's at college now(Rice) along with several of his Senior team mates
i do hope we play Haritage Hall/Barry again tho, maybe then the headline on Yahoo! will say "Lincoln Christian School beats Sanders in State Finals" but i doubt it
linconbuldog 2 years ago
@linconbuldog: He wasn't even their 1st string RB and you are bragging about holding him to under 100yrds? Who won the game? lol... that's what I thought.

To Lincolnbuldog:
Sure made your defense look like crap for a million and a half people then huh?
Give the guy credit, that was an awesome run. I'm surprised you can even type after getting BURNT like that dude
jomaster27 2 years ago
cry more. was that you that missed him behind the line? he's 15 good job holding him back
28triton07 2 years ago
The guy gets one big run and its on yahoo's front page and has one million and a half hits on YouTube because his last name is Sanders, we held him to under 100 yards that game and that was his only TD by the way! He only had 12 TD's all season long.
our running back had 5 TD's in our first game this season and he only played the first half!!!
I hope we play them again in the playoffs, it was a great game
linconbuldog 2 years ago
wow, a total hater......he's 15 years old and he'll be playing in the NFL while the guys on your team will be reliving their hs glory days at walmart.
