For those who have a problem with "I/O Error 123", the problem is probably because your file or folder which contains the file has a name that HJSplit does not recognize. Change the name and try again. The unrecognizable characters should be shown as "?".

Hey, bunkboyz. i got problem using hjsplit. I had already put all the files into one folder. But when i try to join them, the file .001 doesn't appear. I wrote the first file.001 but still it doesn't come out and i look the type of file wrote is.01 and not .001.

is that the reason why my file cannot detect? can you help me figure this out? :D

@durian111 All format will do!!!! But it must have the .001, etc.... For example of RMVB format, it should looks like, filename.rmvb.001!!!! But please don't rename it to .001 by yourself!!!! You need to use HJSPLIT!!!!

Do you just extract the files in to your new folder on the desktop to make them .001-.00X files with winrar/winzip and then use Hjsplit or do you rename the files as 001-00x after each filename?

I used hjsplit after its done joining the .001 files it becomes one single file. I am not able to open that file if i try to extract it using win rar it says "the archive is either damaged or in unknown format" . Please tell me what to do.

I have parts named as ****.rmvb.001, ****.rmvb.002, ****.rmvb.003 and so on.each of 95 MB...the program HJ Split did detect the first part file ****.rmvb.001 but somehow it does'nt join with the other parts. The output file is a *.rmvb file but its only 95MB and is only a 12 min video.....which is not correct....please help!! thanks

i used this program to join Corel Painter Essentials 4 .001 , .002 ect. files... I joined the first file setup.001 then a file is in the output folder called setup. I open the file but it can't find the program to open it!

I have a question. I am trying to download a game and it has 5 parts, 4 are 999mb large and the last is about 700mb. They are all iso.001/002 etc files. My problem is that i manage to unpack the one part but the other parts i cant find or unpack. And if you think that all the parts are in one part they arent, because one part that i succesfully unpacked has 999 mb. HELP PLEASE!

@WaterElementall All of the pats have to be the same name. Example: Game.001, Game.002, Game.003,, etc. Not Game1.001, Game2.002, Game3.003, etc. Try it.

Hello Bunkboyz. I have a problem. I have 7 parts that I want to join. All of them are avi, their names are *for example* Takumi.avi.001, Takumi.avi.002 and so on until seven. I have them all in one folder. Should it be in a usual folder or in winrar? I don´t know. Anyhow, when I join them, it does say joining complete but it is just a copy of the first file, the other 6 parts aren´t in it. Do you know what I should do? Please help me. You are my only hope!!

i totally have the same problem. all the .001 etc files are in one folder and when it say s joining complete, the file is still not complete. see what i mean? and right on the description, it says that you should select all the .001 etc files that you want to join, but when i used that software(btw, i have the exact same one), opened it and then clicked on the folder that has the files all that it can read are the .001 files and not all of the files, so the file join is still incomplete..

I have all the files, right? Their all 001, 002, etc, but when I join them they come out as ... Nothing. Like, I looked at the 'file type' and it says 'file', that's it. How do I get it to go to avi?

First way :

Try to rename your output file to anything.rar then try to open it and extract. If it doesn't work, try the second way.

Second Way :

Rename your output file to anything.avi. And take a look at it. If it doesn't work. I don't know what to do.

I think I found the problem - One of the files was '.0010' instead of '.010', so I changed that and tried it again, but it only plays about half the video so I'm just going to re-download the last few files, make sure the file names are correct and try again.

I need some help from anybody. I downloaded some avi files and hjsplit to join the files. But when i select the Input file 001, i couldnt see it in the file where it was at. Does anybody know why this is and why its happening? The files are there

Try to:

1) Open That Folder (Output Folder)

2) Click on Tools then Folder Options...

3) Select View Tab

4) Tick on Show hidden files and folders

5) See if your file is there, If doesn't

5) Untick on Hide protected operating system files

6) Check again for your file....

If you can't still find your file, reset all setting to normal, that's all what I can help....
