In my religious days I found that it was too authoritarian to allow a gay person to be happy. Certain progress is expected of you, and if you want to live alone forever and shut up about your sexuality, then you're welcome to join. Unless of course a lot of people know and it caused gossip, because then they won't accept you into any positions of responsibility within the church since it could "bring reproach" on God. As if God needs someone to rescue or defend him.
I never would have pegged that for a New Hampshire accent--are you originally from there? I listen for accents and I pegged yours for Washington State or Colorado! Anyway...you're cute :)
