Harness is designed to bring your parrot out for a walk regardless of whether the bird is clipped or not clipped. A clipped bird can still take off if gets spooked.
Good for you! My Grey loves to go for walks with me. I thought We talk about the things we see as we go through the neighborhood. I was the only one who did this!
@dogus194 yes they do and obviously recall train them inside and then outside they should be fine, go for a short amount of time the first day then a little more and so on and so on.
@iMachacker what do you mean by recall train?? Im not sure if it'll be a good idea me taking my Cockatiels out into the park, there is crows, ducks, pegions, dogs and cats oh and foxes but only out at night and rats, squirrels. My cockatiels are still a baby couple between 1-2 months old. Im thinking of getting them used to a harness so i will only take them out to the garden insted of the park.
@dogus194 by recall i mean training them to come back to you even if it does fly away (not that it will do it because you are bringing it into an environment that it is unfamiliar, and u are the only person he trusts out there)
recall is basically teaching a bird how to fly to you. this is an ok video if you want to learn it quickly:
watch?v=i-fgkiN2t1Q&feature=related
if you have time and want to take it slowly watch this *best*:
@dogus194 recall training is good for any bird, a harness is just to keep your bird with you when going outside, your cockatiel should get hurt if it does try to fly away but like i said before, u = safe, unknown environment = unsafe (in the bird's eyes)
eventually after taking several walks (same route) it may attempt to fly out but thats why recall comes in handy.
also the more tame your bird the better :)
kiliparrot has some good videos on taking his birds outside watch them :)
@juliastp1818 My grey doesnt like the harness putting on process that much, but once it's on her and shes outside she is too much in awe and kinda forgets about it
I dont know what I would think if I saw someone walking a parrot with a harness on down the street. XD!

I bet as the bird is being walked they're taunting him with stuff like "take a good look at the trees, you'll never see them again!".
