Much rarer are folks who can compose infectious songs that lead to royalty checks
if you took the likes of jimi page, eric clapton, bb king or any other great guitarist and watched them play when they were eight then you would realize how brilliant this kid really is, and that hes probably going to be one of the great guitarists in history, especially since the older he gets the better he will get at getting better, oh and this video really does not do him justice hes so much better than this.

People get so into "prodigies" If you're 8 and have been playing 3 years... you've got 3 years experience.. Same as someone who plays guitar at 48 and started at 45. You always hear "This kid will be something to behold later"... but the reality is, he's peaking now 99.99% of the time. Hendrix was virtually unknown untill he turned 20, and he had a pretty good career.
i dont understand the emphasis on age really, music is for anyone, age, shape, race, or size and to place him with the one of the most influential guitarists is very ignorant. hes passionate for guitar at a young age and that is great, but dont cheapen the value of the aesthetics of any art by putting age labels on it (i know many competitive things do this but music should not be in this realm)

For 8 years old the main thing is that he has so much Confidence. He isnt the worlds best but who cares he has another 10 years to practice to play club dates.

People get so into "prodigies" If you're 8 and have been playing 3 years... you've got 3 years experience.. Same as someone who plays guitar at 48 and started at 45. You always hear "This kid will be something to behold later"... but the reality is, he's peaking now 99.99% of the time. Hendrix was virtually unknown untill he turned 20, and he had a pretty good career.

i dont understand the emphasis on age really, music is for anyone, age, shape, race, or size and to place him with the one of the most influential guitarists is very ignorant. hes passionate for guitar at a young age and that is great, but dont cheapen the value of the aesthetics of any art by putting age labels on it (i know many competitive things do this but music should not be in this realm)

@Kuroinokaze He grew up in a lower middle class family in the south and has probably worked his fingers bare practicing. Also with the exclusions from clubs due to his age, he has plenty of emotion in his playing.

I have to laugh at everyone saying this guy sucks, hes 8 years old remember? He didnt say he was up there with Hendrix or Vaughn, he said he thinks of them when he puts on the glasses. And to the people who are saying whats up with his faces, ever watched Steve Vai play? The kid is obviously trying to be like his heroes. Man, I wish I had the whole package (talent, feel and passion) even right now. Well, the passion I have, but I hope I'm not so musically challenged.

lol eric clapton once said fame is 99% luck, its all about if you get lucky and somone discovers you, my dad started teaching my brother ukulele at 18 months old and eventually graduated to guitar at age 3 lol.....he was playing David Bromberg's cocaine blues my age 6, and pretty freakin good to, now at 11 he's trying to move into jazz music....all in all, fuck this child
