it was a great performance, but it looked like their footwork went out of sync from about 1:26-1:31...their footwork got a little sloppy around that part. there was also a lift at 1:19. so with those two things going on, im actually surprised they got a perfect 30. i guess the judges let certain things slide back then.

 Im pretty sure lifts are allowed in the tango because it's a 'part of the dance'. It's the only dance they're allowed though-because if you go back to Drew's original jive with cheryl-Carrie ann clearly mentioned they would get points taken off for their lift. youtube.com/watch?v=J2BnizH8i_­U&feature=related

were the routines longer back in season 2? this was a 2 minute routine. but i think the routines are a 1:30 this season.

@DanceFavorites88 it's possible the routines were longer back in season 2, seeing as how they've increased the number of contestants since then which probably caused shorter routines. Season 2 started out with 10 contestants and recent seasons as many as 12 contestants.

I've done Ballroom and Latin for three years and this is definitely the best Tango of a male celeb on DWTS's. I've watched since day one Season One, and I loved this closed hold Tango and Drew does excellent!!! It's much harder than the Argentine and open hold. Now this is "proper ballroom dancing" as Len would say. Excellent!

@sinconcious definitely a good one, but I love Jennifer and Derek's Tango based off of this one (for their iconic dance) the absolute best! Jennifer and Derek showed a lot more passion, better footwork, and also, the singers were better for Jennifer and Derek than they were for Drew and Cheryl, in my opinion.

cheryl burke is wonderful in this season 1. She has won two titles .Today, she is still dancing as the "older" professional.Very young Juliane Hough has emerged to be a masterful instructor as well.If Cheryl loses 20 pounds this year, she would recapture her stardom she had in this first season. I love her .She is classy and she focuses on her partner's positive points.

I think the judges treated Drew and Cheryl differently than the other stars. They broke the hold in the middle and did a lift. Giselle Fernandez was counted down in the third week of season 2 because she did a lift!!

This is the first time I've seen the US version. The pros in the UK show (called "Strictly Come Dancing") are great but Cheryl Burke is bloody incredible!

I have been watching dancing with the stars dances on youtube from sometime now since I can't always catch the show. I love cheryl burke. I think she is the best dancer on there. but I have to agree the live band sucks. I wish they would just play the song. it is distracting when the dancing is good , but the singing sucks.

Love love this video. This is my favorite of all Cheryl's dances. It's so amazing how she could choreograph and dance the tango with Black-Eyed Peas song Shut Up (love the song too). Brilliant!  She's incredible.
