@lHustonProductionsl i think "multi-purpose" is one of the things shotguns HAVE over most other weapons systems. besides the typical home-defense, you can hunt anything from small birds to large deer by just changing whats in your chamber. it can also be your "master-key" for door-hinges/locks in a house clearing scenario and can be loaded with less lethal ammo for riot/prison control. ammo selection is where shotguns win.

@lHustonProductionsl The spread of the buckshot will depend on the choke and length of barrel. On my Benelli M4 I can get all buckshot rounds center mass of a target at about 15-20 yards. Some shooters can get all 9 pellets in a 6in diameter 25 yards away with a particular choke. I know on that my system if I wanted to shoot a target more than 25 yards away I'll just select a slug and port load that into the tube. By the way, OO buckshot can penetrate 8 dry wall boards. It will stop on the 9th.

@lHustonProductionsl A shotgun is a deadly weapon platform and is more versatile than a handgun or assault riffle like the AR-15. Remember that a double OO buckshot has 9 pellets in it and each of those pellets are just smaller than a 9mm round. What's more effective shooting a single buckshoot or shooting a 9mm pistol 9 times at a target?
