  • drum is native spirit singing to all things with respect we love all things with are heat and spirit , cherokee , paint clan , chief ruinning black bear

  • I don't have a lick of Native American in me, but when I hear those drums and hear them sing I just burst into tears. Its got to be the most powerful group of voices I've ever heard.

  • love this~such beautifull powerfull energy~thankyou for sharing

  • Watching this makes me miss home:) It's amazing!

  • I am a proud Native American...Cree to be exact and I always watch this clip when I fell i have noone ans theres nowhere to go,, but i know we as native ppl have our heritage and be proud and free!!! We are one we are the cirlce of life and alway remember , "THIS IS INDIAN COUNTRY!!!" Wooo WOOOO!!!!

  • it was beautiful ......... the soaring eagles

  • I read the comments, and saw that someone's relative was drumming on one of the floats. What about one on the dancers? How was it?

  • hhahah that was me at 4:03 haahah damb ima little kid

  • tingles tingles tingles, things like this that show how for along the US came to show respect for originals, back at home i thought this was a good thing for the people behind this magic to do this, what ever the motives what ever the reason i do not know but i like that they put us at the forefront of the games........we are still here with the mountains....

  • and I love how part of the native culture was totally represented ... up to today ... Robbie, Rita Coolidge, Walela, etc.

  • As a native person ... I am always moved when I watch this ... our elders always taught us - no matter what happened to us - always fight for this (a-ki ... dirt) as they touched the ground - without further explanation. Seeing the dancer coming in with the flag in the 1st vid ... I now know what they meant

  • im Navajo, and was in salt lake during the games,

i just get a great feelinng every time i watch this,

that night the whole world was watching

  • what you highness want the next dance to be at your door step?

  • this is america theres all types of cultures here why should we be denied the rights to speak or learn our culture the spanish speak their language, french, muslum all these cultures speak there language our people was beatin for the use of it so they can be civilized and live like the whites this isnt all bad my life is good but my great great great grandparents lost there language and didnt want there kids to be beatin so they learned to be civilized i may be skipping a few facts but u get it

  • I was at the U when this was going on and I was so happy to see it and glad Native Americans were acknowledge in an American Olympic event. I didn't think I would get so emotional but it was truly breathtaking and being half Navajo I was very proud!!!

  • this is for breezyjeezy i read your comment you think there on display like at a museum is disgraceful this show the beauty of our culture this is important for those of us who didnt have the culture pass down to us true some may not all be as proud or traditional about there culture but all people have them black, mexican, white, native dont matter things like this is for the future of our culture if they dont show it it will die and be forgot about

  • i watch this it makes me proud and sad i see history and future at the same time i see my history of my great relitives which wasnt past down to me which makes me sad but iam trying to learn my culture so i may pass it on i know very little of the native language any advice or help i will be greatful for i am of cherokee but we all are the same people in my eyes

  • that was cool

  • Mique Wash Tagooven.

  • I want to ask, what makes you so traditional?Do you speak your language? Do you carry on the old traditions and dance? do you live off the land? who gives you the right to pass judgement on the people who participated in this? because they're not "traditional" enough? what I will never understand is how being angry solves anything. events like this should be embraced,it brought 5 tribes together at once,it brought the native culture to the world in a postive way. why frown on something positive?

  • We are proud of all the Natives who braved out the Event!

  • i'm more than pround of this my dad and uncles were on tha red ring both drums is catchingeagle lead singer is my dad reggie lopez and tha other is my uncles tha kanip boys red spirit lead uncles ha ha ha love it thanx for posting

  • U need to check ur history, jeezy. It's been many moons since the mormons took over on hiphop smack dab in the middle of our teepuwae. we finally get some primetime on NBC and u get all racist about it. i bet u wouldn't be complaining if it was John Smith or the pilgrims, fool!

  • I remember watching this on tv. I was so happy to see these dances showcased to the entire world.

  • one thing the people talking forgot to mention is that sadie buck was singing, sadie buck is from the six nations reserve and is very well known in canada and the usa.. another thing is that although six nations is in canada, six nations, is connected with a couple reserves in the states, like akwesesne, and a couple other reserves..

  • awsome! long live our first nation!!!!!!! Aho!

  • and the one they don't mention singing with Robbie Robertson with the powerful voice in our language is Sadie Buck

  • U.N.I.T.Y. is going to Oklahoma this summer of 2007. Natives from all over the nation will be there with their tribe. Come meet new people, share your culture. Their will be entertainment; food and dances. Their will also be workshops for college and health...Last year UNITY went to Buffalo, NY, and it was fun. Research some more about it. See you there!
