Hi, are ther 2 Bosendorfers 290 in East West catalogue ? I see they sold a Bosendorfer 290 (3GB) and also sold a collection which includes a BOsendorfer 290 and 4 other pianos (55GB) Quantum Leap Pianos Gold. Do you know if both Bosendorfers are the same ?
@marto877 on this piano the lowest note is A0 with 88 keys,
but there are also other pianos wich have even more low notes, for example one model of the Seiler Grand piano with 90 Keys or Bösendorfer 225 with 92 Keys or Bösendorfer 290 has 97 keys. However apart from these there are certainly many other pianos with less or more keys.
@PianistaItaliano wow 97!!? thats amazing and huge... you said the Bosendorfer 290 has 97 keys but yours has 88... i thought all Bosendorfers 290 were the same. thanks!
There isn't any latency issues, if you have a good soundcard and computer. I get less than 1 ms latency using Ivory's full settings. That's hardly something you notice.
i sold my ivory........ and had all three titles...... i couldnt get rid of the latency and i have a powerful computer. I just use my new S70xs by yamaha........
I use both, Ivory and QL. QL definitely sounds better and you can even mix together different mic positions. But it's very demanding in terms of computing ressources. For real-time playing, I use Ivory, for rendering I use QL. I've put up some audio examples on my channel, if you like.
You could run it on your duo... but you wouldn't be able to run anything else :P you'd probably have a bit of an issue with the multi mics too..
I'd highly recommend a quad core though, they should drop in price soon with the 8-core coming out. I'm running a 2.66quad core with 4gb ram and 2.25TBs of hard drive, and I can run all 3 mics without an issue ;)
I absolutely love this sample. In my opinion, it has the best, and most realistic Bosendorfer sound any company has ever made. We have a Bosendorfer 290 at home and we bought this for our digitals. EWQL has some great steinway and some other pianos as well.
Thanks internalmethods, but sorry...this was a pure improvisation, I just tried to demonstrate in this music-vid the quality and dynamics of this instrument..
Oh well, it was worth a try. My jazz piano teacher agreed to teach me some gospel type jazz. I would love to hear more of this style if you ever get the inclination. Keep up the good work....it's very inspiring.
Your playing is very loose and spontaneous. It sounds great. The QL is very powerful sounding. It sounds like you will be able to get a lot out of this software package. Congratulations.
A marriage made in heaven! This is just wonderful. The Bosendorfers have always been my favorites. And, Alfonso, you sounded inspired with a gospel influence here which reminded me of Tom (7NoteMode) -- a style I'm anxious to hear you continue ... : )

Superphilipp 9 months ago
@Superphilipp you do not hear the low keys?
PianistaItaliano 9 months ago
@PianistaItaliano I do, but not the really nifty ones. You know the ones only the Bösendorfer has, down to C0.

great playing man. at last a true pianist posting on youtube.

What about the Double Escapement feature that is part of a Grand Piano, for enabling rapid trills?
Letting the key up only partly after striking a key, which lets the damper stay off the string and enabling a re-strike.
Without that feature it's a useless tool for any serious classical piano playing.

i wish i could play good solos when it comes to jazz on piano, curious question though...
what kinda hard drive are you using for quantum leap pianos, and how many mic positions can you run through on each piano on your pc?
Paulsterdude 2 years ago
Thanks Paulsterdude, I use "maxtor 500 BG"
I can also run all the positions at the same time, because I work with a Pentium Quad 4 x 2400 Mhz, so no problem. More info there >>>>>>>>>>>

That was BEAUTIFUL and well said. haha
I guess its nice to mention that this thing needs a windows VISTA 32 or 64bit update, huh?
I luv the sound. I have Acoutica's Pianisssimo and Sonivox's Eighty Eight.
They are each amazing quality and superb gems, indeed.
I barely purchased this Vst recently and Instantly am grateful to its developers
Peace out, Mistro. Bravo!

Cosa ne pensi di pianoteq? provato?
p.s Non è formalmente corretto dire che hai 9600mhz a disposizione, sono 4 core da 2400 :)

...Is really an interesting "software" ... even though, frankly, his dynamic "yet" I was not totally convinced.
However, I do not ever stop making new attempts :)
