to those who say stuff like "the drones are out of tune" you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Uillean pipe drones are different from highland pipe drones. Im a uillean piper. so i should know. good playin boyo
@astrotrain53 I'm a uillean piper, too, and a clarinet player since 26 year. Ryan Murphy will be a great piper, he is plenty of talent, but in this piece there are problems of tuning. If you dont' hear them, I'm sorry for you.
Of course not. I don't undertand your answer, maybe you want only to fight or demonstrate something, I don't know.
I don't care about this. I only like music well played. This is the place for talking about this young (and very good) musician, so I expressed my opinion. You can agree or not, nothing more to say.
Ryan, I'm from Macroom. Where can I get a good set of reeds and maybe a decent chanter. I bought a set supposedly made by Michael Vignoles from Galway but maybe I have been dupped.
hi there does anyone know where i could hire someone for to play Irish Uilleann Pipesup in northern ireland? any pointers in the right direction would be great!!
he's an excellent piper, so young!!!! I'me as young as he, and I'm buying a cheap Uillean pipes set on ebay... Just to begin... I hope i will learn to play Uillean Pipes...
Whatever you do, do NOT buy any sets of pipes of the dreaded "Ebay"!!! 19 out of every 20 sets you see on there are all made in Pakistan or the middle east, and are quite literally IMPOSSIBLE to play by anyone, even professionals,
I would suggest getting a "real" set by a trusted maker like Pat Skye or David Daye, which are a little more expensive, but are atleast in playable condition.
ya i know.. everyone says that. But saving 500 euros will take me two years. You see, I think that's better to begin with a 200 euros pakistani half set, that spending 500 for a practice set for a good maker... I want to learn! Someday I'll have the money and I'll buy a good set, naturally. But the dreaded Ebay is the only one which can allow me to start learning the fingering and the playing of the drones. Also on a bad instrument.
someone thought my comment was good??? IT WAS WRONG!!!!!! THEY WERE RIGHT, THEY ALL!!! I BOUGHT AN HALF SET FOR 200 EUROS AND IT'S TERRIBLE, A SET OF TUBES LINKED WITH A BAG xD I will never manage to learn on it... I will save for a practice set,

It should be. But if you listen to Mick O'Brien or Tiarnan O' Duinnchinn and the stability of their sets, maybe I'm not the one.

I'm guessing between $427.00 to $1,567.45; however, I suspect that they are much higher.
