Kick Mario's ass really fast? Not if Mario has the jumping Lui. Or one of his time freezing stop watches. Or the Emerald Crystal Star from TTYD. Really, Mario has plenty of ways to counter Sonic's speed. You just have to be more creative and think a little bit harder.

@9sharkman Hate is a very strong word that should be reserved for truly horrid games like Hotel Mario or The Wand of Gamelon, not masterpieces of the platforming genre like Mario Galaxy. Perhaps you just don't like the Platformer genre? I'm not a big fan of the Action Adventure genre but I can still appreciate games like Zelda. Not liking a game is no reason to hate it.

@bONz08r0nzan No I hate it, but I actually really like platformers. I just can't stand this game mainly due to some physics issues and camera issues. Mechanics is what is the downfall of this game in my opinion. It's style is perfectly fine, and I'm a fanatic of Super Mario 64, the closest game to it. I'm sorry for not sharing your opinion of this game. In the end, I the issues I have with it makes it very hard to play for me. I can't stand to even. I think my word choice is fine.

@9sharkman Ah. I think that may be a problem with you specifically than rather than the game itself. Aside from some of the minor parts of the game like underwater stages, manta racing and the rolling ball stages (which only make up about 5% of the gameplay) I had no problem with the mechanics, physics or camera angles. It didn't make the game hard to play for me.

Play Sonic Unleashed. Now THAT'S a game with awful controls, mechanics and physics worthy of the word "hate".

@bONz08r0nzan I don't think my ability is in question at all, I did play through the game and beat it anyway, but throughout the game the camera was my worst enemy, not Bowser. It killed me way more times shifting while jumping or moving so something blocked my view and I got hurt from it that it made the game so unnessiarily tedious for me. Perhaps I got unlucky with the camera, but I don't know. Also: Artificially adding difficutly via control/camera allows me to blame the game.

@9sharkman Well, don't be insane. I mean, you don't REALLY think that Nintendo did that, right? I don't remember much from SMG but in SMG2 the difficulty stemmed from the fact that you had to carefully time your jumps and pay attention to all the moving parts in a level. It had nothing to do with camera angles. From what I remember the first game was the same in that way.

@bONz08r0nzan In SMG one it's similar, but they definatly ironed out mechanics in SMG2. Aslo, when I said that I didn't mean they did it on purpose. I've made a few games, and I've tested a few games, (nothing you'd have heard of), and control and camera angles can just hate the game without much reason, and cinimatic shots suddenly become straining to the player. The issues I've had was the camera moved behind X so I couldn't see the ledge, or I jumped, and the camera moved mid jump.
