  • lovely rendition sort of country willie nelson style i liked a version also by jim eagers and steve doody beautifull natural harmonies best ive seen yet except for the everlys of course

  • @DAVIDEEJONES Hey thanks a lot. And I would never try to compete with the original, just adding my version in appreciation of what they did. :)

  • A great day for the Everlys; on this date in 1961 {Jan. 30th} "Walk Right Back" and the flip side "Ebony Eyes" both entered Billboard's Hot 100 chart and both would eventually peak in the Top 10. "Walk Right Back" reached No. 7 while "Ebony Eyes" made it to No. 8!!! (I posted this comment here because I couldn't find this song by the Everly Bros. on You Tube)

  • hi.

i remember when this first came out.it was a big hit.i waited a long time to get the record. thank you .

  • QUITE GOOD...

  • @1bridlington Thanks very much

  • @liveanddieforlove1 Sorry for the late reply but I just wanted to say that this song makes me cry too and I appreciate your comment.

  • Very nice job! Someone asked me to cover this song and I've been wondering about how to do it. I agree it wouldn't sound quite right without the dual vocals and narrations are always tricky to get just right in a song. You pulled if off very nicely. You've got three years on me uploading your first music video; mine was uploaded yesterday.

  • @OKSteve I will go check out your upload. I always liked this song but was rather stressed about how to do the narration. I just went ahead and did it and hopefully it's ok. Can't compare it to the original and I wouldn't even try. I now wish I only did 2 part harmony instead of 3. Anyhow, thanks for the comment and good luck with your videos.

  • this song makes me tear but was in luv with it,My late Dad luv it Ebony Eyes, N take a massaye to mary

  • @28kencoman WHO THE HELL IS YOUR BRAINLESS ASS TYPING TO,,,,,,,,,,??????

  • not from everly brothers but some guy in beard...make title correct!!!!

  • @coololdbart It says "Cover" in the title. Are you seeing that? Let me know if there is a problem with it not showing or something. Thanks.

  • 5 Stars Sir, Excellent rendition of this clasic.

  • @mdjdecorations Wow, I appreciate the stars ... and miss them here.

  • thanks for your response zerobio.

but i agree that it's hard not to put on a third part.

i must admit any time i listen to their records in the car i sing the 3rd part harmony too.

it's just a little like having your cake, eating it, and ordering another.

    but thanks for your understanding...

    best,

    -1975

  • @allallallthetime hehe no kidding. I also find myself doing that. I certainly don't want to sing a part that is already there so I fill in the gaps. Thanks for your comment and appreciate hearing from you.

  • should be listed as a cover because when you do a search for the everly brothers this come up, nothing personal, it's a nice cover, but it is not the everly brothers

  • @rallygsc Yes you are right. Let me change that. Thanks for watching.

  • Very nicely done!

  • @owensclock Thanks a lot. :)

  • Havnt heard this for years, its great to listen to again!

  • @jessicanelson94 Glad you came by to listen.

  • This song cut me deep down when i remember a faded first teenage love in the 1960s.

My heart still miss a beat today when I hears it thank you.

  • @george19171 I know, I feel the same way. I really can't listen to it a lot because it is too sad. But it is lovely and it's an honour to sing it.

  • No wonder this song was banned years ago its bloody depressing.. a brilliant song but very sad!

  • @LaurenDAOfficial Haha, I never heard of it being banned but it is bloody depressing. Still so beautiful.

  • Phenominal job! Such a gut wrenching song....Along the line of "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro.....I love these personal story songs!

  • Absolutly gut wrenching....Beautiful!

  • @yarekhunt It is really a beautiful and sad song. Thank you for checking out my version of this classic.

  • why 3 part harmony???

    would be better without.

    why the 3 part harmony???

    it's such a 2 part kinda song

  • @allallallthetime Yes you are so right. I really don't know why I did that, maybe just to show that I could ... but it is absolutely meant for just 2 harmonies.

  • Love this, never thought I would like it by anyone else, listened by mistake, but it's a cracking version, thank you.

  • @rufus141 Cool. So glad you liked my version of this.

  • This was my Mum's favourite song. She died 8 years ago today and I play this beautiful song for her every year at 11.10pm which was when she passed.

  • @michelle140271 What a special honour you perform for your mum. That is so awesome. Keep it going. I'm so glad to hear this from you. Wish you the best and thank you for sharing your story.

  • @michelle140271 It was the song I chose for my mum's funeral, she used to sit and weep whenever she played it when we were children

  • Excellent cover of an all time classic. Well played.

  • Still waiting for the next zero everly number.

  • @nana4tion Thanks for watching this. When I get back to Canada and set up the recording studio, I will do another one. Any Everly requests?

  • @zerobio Yep, "So Sad To Watch Good Love Go Bad; Walk Right back (I think that's the title) or maybe the one translated from french Let It Be Me" but everybody covers that one. The Everly song is the way I found your great stuff. Really like your originals best though.

  • @nana4tion I LOVE "So Sad to Watch Good Love Go Bad", that's a great choice. Give me time okay. I'm on my way back to Canada from Indonesia in a week, set up the home studio and I will work on that one. Very glad you found my channel. And yes, I like the originals best too.

  • this song sends a chill right down my spine and has done since i first heard it

  • @xmrsmitch00ukx Yes! I feel the same way every time. I've only covered one of the Everly Brothers and although there are so many great songs by them, this is the saddest to me. Thank you for watching.

  • @tintindwarf Well that is a really nice compliment. Thank you for that and for watching.

  • I have a question on this song. I can't find a real video of The Everly Brothers performing it. Can someone tell me who spoke the worded parts in the song, Don or Phil?

  • I wish I could help you there. I just don't know. But thanks for watching and for your comment. Hope to see you again. :)

  • 65 and I still cry whenever I hear this song.

more impact than most from the 50s and 60s

  • I feel the same. It's such a sad song, so beautiful. Thank you for watching and commenting.

  • Hi, beautiful job on this one...

What kind of harmony box did you use?

    I just gota TC-Helicon VoiceLive2....

Hope I can match the Everly harmonies as well as you did on this one!

  • How is that box working for you? I'd love to give something like that a try. I just sang them myself but let me know if you use the helicon on something, I'd like to hear it.

  • Wow! You did a great job on the harmonies.... You sounded so much like the Everyly's....

I just got the box, so learning how to use it.... The learning curve is steep on it! ;)

I'll let you know when I post something using it; it might be a while yet.

  • Sure thing. I bet it will take a while to get reasonable harmonies out of it but the presets will probably be a decent place to start. Good luck and definitely feel free to let me know if you want me to check our some early tests. :)

  • Thanks... I noticed from your vids that you really don't need a harmony box, you are excellent at harmony! I am very impressed with your music... You are a very talented guy!

  • Hey that's cool for you to say. I really want to hear what you get out of the helicon, good luck with that and keep in touch when you feel like it.

  • Wonderful! A beautiful song, but, sad, that's why I never liked the words, but the melody is awesome! You do a great job!

  • I agree, it is very sad indeed. Glad you came by to watch this and thanks for your comments. :)

    ~ Elliott

  • Who is signing with you?

  • It's just me doing the harmonies. Thanks for watching.
