  • cute animation.. and very useful..

  • Very informative. Thanks!

  • Michael Lewis' book Liar's Poker is a fine example of how LSE graduates studying Economics are lapped up by investment bankers. Reading the book actually put me off investment banking, economics at degree level sounds more like what I wanted rather than economics A level. I still enjoy it, but I wanted eco A level to have more maths in it.

  • this is 100% reality. seriously i was the black guy till recently and now i see.

  • I'm pretty sure it's like this in almost every other top universities for economics, not just LSE or UCL

  • Whilst I disagree with the comment made about not enough active societies, as an LSE graduate I couldn't agree more about the IB culture - I see my friends working for IBs once in a full moon.

  • great sequel!

Not all LSE grads who went to IB have this mind (eg: me), but nevertheless explains most part of LSE student life.

  • @yuizakisakura : totally agree with you...the video speaks out most parts of the LSE: the class teacher, students, societies, lse su...etc

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

"last year I heard they gave out sacks of gold" amazing

quite black white though - I think both parts are quite important unless you want to go into academia. Really want an internship at a bank though, I think it sounds so boring that I'd never try to get a job there otherwise :/

  • Hahah... its funny how UCL students commenting below think they're so much better, I have never heard of any UCL kids who got into LSE and turned it down.. Lets see you get an offer for BSc Econs at LSE first and then spew nonsense. As far as the investment banking bug goes, this is an endemic problem among all top London universities and is not unique to LSE. -From an LSE BSc Econs alumnus and a current investment banker

  • @daemonavn I've never heard of an LSE kid who thought the social life there was good. But then never having heard of some spurious thing is no condition of its truth.

  • hahahahahah

  • HAHAH LOL. Standing ovation for the creator of this video! This is TRUE observation.. this is REAL world, nobody cares about the theories after passing the exam! :)

  • Do you really think we want to learn our student's names when all they are interested in is getting an internship at the Goldman Sachs?

    -- your class teacher

  • @gregorgrummel I wish you would have declare your thoughts in class.

    - LSE alumni who suffered 3 years being surrounded by IB wannabes.

  • @gregorgrummel well then you should probebly shouldn't allow those students to get in the school in the first place..but you and the students are all playing their parts in this play of global economy...and now that this is turning into a drama I am glad to say that you are all fucked..you feed the system and the system feeds you..so you are both going down..in the meantime we will be standing up here with the rest of the people that actually care for other things rather than MONEY MONEY MONEY

  • Based on some element of truth? 99% of this video is true and you know it..

  • Wow, so true, applies for Imperial students as well!

Just copy the solutions. They use the same question every year!

Don't bother, the Goldman Sach's only care to get 60%. Only your final result matters..

What do you prefer? Getting big bonuses or understanding a model of general equilibrium that you will never use after you pass your exam?

    hahahaha

  • @fifirifiri can't agree more

  • You must be a BSc Econ student! 2:27 - 2:35 may be offensive for some. (I'm an IR student anyway)

  • LOOOOL

  • part 1 was funnier - this was quite a letdown...

  • @serena030692

Yep, because you have psychic powers like that. I have offers from both UCL and LSE and I firmed UCL. Is that so hard to understand and accept? LSE is a great uni but you're just a massive fanboy....

  • the person who made this is a legend!!! I go to LSE and there are people actually like this!!! You cant hate on them tho cos ultimately they get the job at GS..they all do....

  • It's important not to take these videos too seriously, you certainly shouldn't be turning down an LSE offer (or indeed, accepting one) based off The LSE Problem videos! For one, they obviously focus on some of the bad things, rather than the many good things, at LSE. In addition, most things in these videos have been exaggerated for comic effect. Please only take these videos as a joke, but with some element of truth in them. The videos were designed with current LSE students in mind.

  • @Abhishake90 So what are the good things? Apart from LSE's reputation, that is (which is steadily declining in the rankings btw).

  • @serena030692

    well I didn't. stupid.

  • @serena030692 yet LSE steadily ranks lower than UCL year after year....

  • @lemonwasher what moron cares about rankings?

  • @messi9991 the ranking is lame. so many british uni rank higher than top unies in USA which does not make sense. I suppose Times is trying to sell the uk uni to the world by cheating us

  • @2008shiny I'm guessing you didn't get into any UK universities and are bitter? Awwwww.. *pats* doesn't matter even if you say you did after this (to defend yourself) because it could just be a lie!!

  • @lemonwasher LOL. Seems 2b the opposite way around. Actually about to graduate already, n yet still regret coming to the UK for my study. so costly n didn't learn much. I'm afraid even the British students didn't wanna stay inside college as the education is absolutely appalling. (They told me the didn't freaking care abt the life already as they r going to some other countries for exchanging) tats y ppl say the ranking is sh1t although our college is among the top 3.

  • @2008shiny indeed, you obviously didn't learn English very well

  • @messi9991 I'm afraid u r the man who spoke the truth! sigh... wasted my time...

  • @lemonwasher O yeah, btw, shall probably take a look at the entry requirement of UK and US unies requirements. When u convert the UK grade/ mark into US GPA, see how much they still worth. And see how many ppl get into top US unies, n how many in UK... then the income of graduates. A graduate from a normal uni in US earns way more than a stu from a top uni in the UK. Hv fun

  • @2008shiny Yet you came to the UK to study so you will end up earning less too! Despite knowing all this you came to the UK... either you didn't get into a US university or you'd rather be one of the lower earning graduates and it was all in your grand plan. Hv fun doing what? ( I suppose you assume I am from a UK university.... fail)

  • @lemonwasher Yeah. cuz the way u spoke makes ppl thk so, u said "you CAME", which sounds like u r in the UK. Had I known that UK uni sucks so hard b4 I came, I would hv chosen to go to the US o even stay home instead. 2b honest, I gotta admit tat I DIDN'T KNOW all these. Yeah, tat can b called a failure for sure. Planning doesnt necessarily mean a gd turnout, yet it depends on how much info we've got. Somehow, Life is just like a stranger who rapes u, n if u cant resist this, just enjoy it

  • @2008shiny you should get your money back due to the university's failure to teach you even the most basic English spelling.

  • @lemonwasher True, yet they could argue tat I taught u how 2 type in abbr 2 save internet space, then I dunno how 2 argue bk

  • @messi9991 all the major newspapers, education consultants and anyone from a good school looking to go to a good university who is not from Asia (LSE is very popular in Asia despite its decline....)

  • 'don't those people matter?'

'well there's a reason why noone ever says the 'and political science' part of LSE's name'

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I've still firmed LSE though and I'm looking forward to my law degree :D

  • So what's actually good about LSE?

  • I meant price CEILING!! Alwyn Young has evidently failed me haha.

  • 'I heard they give out sacks of gold for bonuses last year'

Brilliant line! Everyone should get an internship at the Goldman Sachs.

  • "There's a reason nobody ever says the 'and Political Science' part of LSE's name!" Pwned! On a more serious note, the reason that we have these problems is that there is no incentive to work outside of revision period. If the LSE had the money to teach us properly and grade all our work rigorously as is done in the US, then we'd have a different culture. Unfortunately we live in a socialist country where there is a price floor on education, leading to a supply shortage!

  • Absolutely right

  • so freaking true

  • @boonoob pipe down

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! My GV100 and GV101 Just Got BOID

  • @goonboy72 ...not sure if it makes any difference, probably slightly better

  • @goonboy72

haha ucl is better than this but the shit prevails everywhere...from a ucl econ student

  • @greekcypriot004 lol UCL econ = full of LSE rejects

  • @ricardodiaz88

lol true. i chose ucl because i prefered it when i visited. i didnt like lse. i didnt even apply for econ there.
