@Gloocoos4 The driving physics are mind blowing realistic. The crash physics however aren't at all accurate, just some basic physical laws. But there is no game in which those are realistic just yet, because it's very difficult to calculate. So they may look more other games but really they're not. I'm attending university and DO know a lot more physics and HAVE more race car driving experience then most people do and conclude that it is close to the real thing. Superior to Shift 2 and Forza

I got so DISGUSTED with this game that I actually put it back in its case and mailed it to a friend as a gift.
Auto save cannot be disabled, which means that you will waste MILLIONS on cars you don't like.
NO MATTER which car you choose, your soft tires will wear out around 3 laps, and your opponents' tires, for some magical reason, will not, causing them to catch up and beat you.
If you opt for hard or medium tires your car will handle like shit, and they'll still beat you. This game blows.

@panamera I agree the physics in GT5 are slightly better, and GT5 premium cars are the best looking cars I've ever seen in a game. By the critics I simply meant the reviewers, I have also played the game myself and I did enjoy it but i was also disappointed, driving non premium car feels a bit cheap and the tracks graphics are disappointing.
It's a great game, but to me it just feels unfinished and doesn't live up to the hype. I've always been a huge GT fan, I guess I just expected more.

@xxJSGC123xx no i don't think that the damage is better but the point of a simulator is to drive like you would in real life and no, you cant do donuts, i have tried with front wheel drive cars, rear wheel drive cars, all wheel drive cars, on a flat surface with all assists turned off and the "donuts" wind up putting the car into the wall. i will post a video if you want me to. and im not sure you have even played the game because after c class NONE of the RWD cars get traction upon launch.
@01iamaprofessional trust me man, you can; it's easily doable in any AWD car and is doable in RWD, albeit a bit harder. Tbh that is the nature of all cars not AWD, not being able to get perfectly clean full-throttle starts, but you can get them to get a pretty much clean start if you try.
@Wardogz1z You're right they promised too much and choice of cars is ridiculous. Some non interesting cars are premium (some of the mazdas or the WWII german jeeps) while some really nice exotics/race cars are standard cars. that was the greatest disappointment. However when getting further into the game and when finishing the carreer with your coolest premium cars, it got better to me.
To people that say damage isnt important in a simulator. Well it is, i dont mean visual damage i mean mechnical damage, as in you crash like the driver does in this video and thats the end of your race. Also i better point out so people dont say im some forza fanboy i own a PS3 and this game, although i do own a forza aswell :)

@1995MattyD I love the GT series but untill 5 Forza 3 was the sim to have and it wasn't just because of damage but the modding and physics mostly for drift and just realism in general. But it looks like Forza is gonna have to really up their game after GT5
@Wardogz1z STFU and go play Forza Kinect. GT5 is a driving simulator, Forza is an arcade racer. Tracks were widen on Forza and cars don't handle like real life. If Forza is so good, then you should just play that instead of watching GT5 videos.
The damage isn't very well realised. The very first hit would have been enough to stop it in it's tracks. But then again, this game isn't about crashing, its about clean laps and good driving. Other games, like GRID, are not like this and therefore the damage system is more realistic. Glad they put something in it though.
To all the people complaining about the damage/physics: both aspects have been redesigned completely and undergone several revisions in the year since this video has been posted. This doesn't represent what you will be seeing in GT5 at all (save for the HUD). Do you really think a car can hit a barrier at over 100mph at that angle and survive? More importantly, do you think the perfectionists at Polyphony Digital would allow that in the final product? No.

@1995MattyD on release forza 3 had well over 400 cars and with dlc that now stands at around 600, the online racing isnt poor infact its very good and fun. poor physics yeah right have you ever driven a car, i have and i can tell you that forza 3 is close to the real thing.
The Ferrari isn't going to have full damage but other models will, only paint scrapes because of the licensing rights. Ferrari and other companies don't allow full damage on their vehicles because they don't like portrayals of their vehicles destroyed. Forza has similar licensing issues as many models such as Bugatti only have paint damage as well.
personally i love xbox 360 as a gaming console i think it destroys ps3. game selection and the way the home screen feels. but i swear to god im going to buy a ps3 but a copy of gt5 when its released and glue the disk drive shut and never play anything else. this game is all ps3 has for it. completely and brutally honestly.

@GooBaaGeez if youre regarding to 0:10 then youre wrong. In real life those are made of hard ABS plastic, and arent meant to be hit from the side like that, so its quite possible that could happen. Although i would agree that it should have slowed down the car much more since they are typically filled with water or sand also.

I once sent my porshe over a curve....fucked everything up. Chassis outa place wheels blown to hell hood and panels bent (my insurance fixed it). I dont see how this ferrari going over 1 hundred miles power could survive. And porsches have a lot more structural integrity than a ferrari. So i think maybe damage was turned off and they only had cosmetic damage on.

Enjoy your inconsistent graphics, dodgy frame rate, ugly tracks, 800 GT4 ported cars.
I own a PS3 and love it, it has great games like Uncharted, Killzone and MGS.
But GT5 is a flop, still a good game but has failed to live up to expectations.

@panamera I agree the physics in GT5 are slightly better, and GT5 premium cars are the best looking cars I've ever seen in a game. By the critics I simply meant the reviewers, I have also played the game myself and I did enjoy it but i was also disappointed, driving non premium car feels a bit cheap and the tracks graphics are disappointing.
It's a great game, but to me it just feels unfinished and doesn't live up to the hype. I've always been a huge GT fan, I guess I just expected more.

@Wardogz1z I do not consider the damage in this game to even be compared to F3's In forza you dont bounce off walls, and your bumper wont stay on... did i mention you can trash your engine... Dont get me wrong GT5 has a nice set of features... such as a lot of cars that you really dont need or want to drive ( Like 7 different years of a honda civic...) i guess it isnt my kind of game, i am more into simulators and i feel forza is more of a simulator that GT5 which is an arcade racer.

@xxJSGC123xx no i don't think that the damage is better but the point of a simulator is to drive like you would in real life and no, you cant do donuts, i have tried with front wheel drive cars, rear wheel drive cars, all wheel drive cars, on a flat surface with all assists turned off and the "donuts" wind up putting the car into the wall. i will post a video if you want me to. and im not sure you have even played the game because after c class NONE of the RWD cars get traction upon launch.

@01iamaprofessional trust me man, you can; it's easily doable in any AWD car and is doable in RWD, albeit a bit harder. Tbh that is the nature of all cars not AWD, not being able to get perfectly clean full-throttle starts, but you can get them to get a pretty much clean start if you try.

Some non interesting cars are premium (some of the mazdas or the WWII german jeeps) while some really nice exotics/race cars are standard cars. that was the greatest disappointment. However when getting further into the game and when finishing the carreer with your coolest premium cars, it got better to me.

To people that say damage isnt important in a simulator. Well it is, i dont mean visual damage i mean mechnical damage, as in you crash like the driver does in this video and thats the end of your race. Also i better point out so people dont say im some forza fanboy i own a PS3 and this game, although i do own a forza aswell :)

The damage isn't very well realised. The very first hit would have been enough to stop it in it's tracks. But then again, this game isn't about crashing, its about clean laps and good driving. Other games, like GRID, are not like this and therefore the damage system is more realistic. Glad they put something in it though.

To all the people complaining about the damage/physics: both aspects have been redesigned completely and undergone several revisions in the year since this video has been posted. This doesn't represent what you will be seeing in GT5 at all (save for the HUD). Do you really think a car can hit a barrier at over 100mph at that angle and survive? More importantly, do you think the perfectionists at Polyphony Digital would allow that in the final product? No.

The Ferrari isn't going to have full damage but other models will, only paint scrapes because of the licensing rights. Ferrari and other companies don't allow full damage on their vehicles because they don't like portrayals of their vehicles destroyed. Forza has similar licensing issues as many models such as Bugatti only have paint damage as well.

I believe that the sim damage of the track is great, but the car damage is way better in forza 3. I believe nobody have tried forza 5, sorry if im wrong, but each game has its own, both are great, both fucking suck, so stop fighting like fucking fans and play ur ps3 or xbox. @GooBaaGeez if youre regarding to 0:10 then youre wrong. In real life those are made of hard ABS plastic, and arent meant to be hit from the side like that, so its quite possible that could happen. Although i would agree that it should have slowed down the car much more since they are typically filled with water or sand also.

I once sent my porshe over a curve....fucked everything up. Chassis outa place wheels blown to hell hood and panels bent (my insurance fixed it). I dont see how this ferrari going over 1 hundred miles power could survive. And porsches have a lot more structural integrity than a ferrari. So i think maybe damage was turned off and they only had cosmetic damage on.
