i just randomly happened to watch this movie bcuz i liked da title... and dis movie is so QUEER!!! interesting and... yeah... unique~ i don't understand what is supposed to b the moral of this story. did dat woman love da prisoner? and y did da g@y guy kill the person he loves?! i dun get it!!! please explain someone!!! @1Asdfx : I think it has to do with the nature of love and destruction, or of love being destructive. Wilde wrote: "For each man kills the thing he loves the most". This movie is sublime. I don't know how he does it but Kim Ki Duk is the king of capturing beauty in its most natural way.

oyunsuren, don't watch movies like this one if you can't get them :))))))) kim ki duk is amazing but not a lot of people understand his idea or the main theme of his movies... You don't need to watch them if they can't "touch" you :) there are plenty of stupid-funny american commedies that you can enjoy :)

funny you should ask. I still haven't watched this movie yet and i'm certain I won't unless i have really nothing to do. I recently watched movie called "beautiful" which is one of his but i didn't know it was his after i watched it. anyway, another one of those "what the hell" kind of movie. seriously, i'm just not an abstract thinker i guess because i really don't understand his stuff.

i allways think that kim's rols don't have a normal psychic,they don't have normal reactions. that makes me say "what...?" after the majour sceans,i meen,if they don't have normal like reactions what is the point,the conclusion,i don't understand what kim ki-duk tries to tell with it...:-<

the song is originally a french chanson by Salvatore Adamo called "Tombe la Neige", yet it differs in arrangement and structure a bit. it's from 1964 I think. I got the original and it's not as beautiful and moving as the ending of this movie.
