you most likely already figured this out but the button being recessed into the bolster makes it so you dont need a traditional safety.

you may already know about it but Smokey Mountain Knife Works sells an eraser that is inbedded with some kind of grit that removes rust and stains on knives and other metal...i have used them with great results...take care
