The best from the 90's, far a few in between in that decade mattered or were great, this just an example of a decade that should of been pushing forward as the millennium was coming up.

David is definitely one of the most talented and versatile artists of all time. He does so many wonderful things, so strikingly different and yet they all have his special magic. I just have to get up and dance every time I hear this. It has so much energy, I just love it.
whats his other recent album with the "techno like" songs near the end?this guy is remarkable boldly being a true musician experimenting and making it happen-fukyeah
he was thinking of making an album that only wankers would dislike. jokes. But seriously, the album is great. Awesome sound, guitar, lyrics and composition. Makes the speakers shake, too.
The vid seems dreamlike, I love that there is no reference visually to technology although the song wreaks of it. DMW defies category, it starts with a Linn LM-1 clap for godsakes! Then its techno-like, then its a Rock song with the live drumming, then the BASS LINE towards the end - incredible.
The hypnotic background vox, stellar, the freaked out electric guitar like its playing itself! Then the album version ends with Salsa...! Play it loud in your ride, full on music overload! I love it!
I found the Earthling CD which I bought originally on Cassette at Virgin MS back in '97. I instantly fell in love with this song and Little Wonder back then, I only played those, but now, I've re-appreciated the album as a whole, its brilliant. Every song is thunder.
the fact is, this is a great song, the electronic version, and the acoustic. It's Bowie, he's a great songwriter, all of his periods. Seu Jorge proved that you can take his best songs and play them any style you want which means it's a damn good song.
Have a bad HSN-QVC SHOPPING EXPERIENCE: Let IMAN go on, with kaftans, 30 years after her mafia skank-hubby DAVID BOWIE duped Nixon's W.E.S., to twit ME, for playing guitar so well, Bowie and AC-ZZ duped me and blew off Reagan geeks like Vanilla Ice, when they stole my riffs AND Iran's assets, AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS, for Ted Poe and any other idiot with his thumb up Reagan's ass. Why does Iman get into the US, with nukes hot, and her ripoff DAVE riotously tipping off then-revolutionary action?

Mi primer concierto fué el de David Bowie, gracias hermanita Maruchan!!! ... lo recuerdas?? ... y su bajista es increíble qué mujer !!! wow toda una experiencia XD
Brilliant song, so underrated when it came out, folks were saying the usual rubbish "Bowie re-inventing himself badly". This was and still is a total groove.
@pedritocobos He is even more ahead of his time "today" than what he was back then because music is now regressing into nothing but generic shitty bands that sound like clones of each other with no creative spark, no individuality and absolutely no staying power.
The 90's was the LAST of great music, the 00's killed music.
@blade004 ehh, the music industry and radio's demand for crap that any idiot will listen to killed the potential for most progress, that and fewer album sales due to piracy which was far less prevalent then.
To find new, good music anymore, you almost have to look for independent label artists. Indi bands were always a good source, even when radio and pop culture weren't trying to force feed us nothing but slop.
No, this = gay, fuck you all that disagree, u all = gay, please give me red thumbs down, i like it. Please send me abuse messages, i like them aswell.
This song is so amazing - compare this studio version with the acoustic version that dave and reeves do. It is duplicitous in as to how it affects you. This version is so direct - the narrator accepts his fate with arrogance as if he spits "fuck You! I know I'm dead!" - almost arrogant.. And then the acoustic version - the delivery is less accepting - the narrator doesn't want to give in - but knows he has no choice.

this song/album reminds me of the job I had when it came out, and how I listened to it on my discman like every day. lol.

Brilliant song, so underrated when it came out, folks were saying the usual rubbish "Bowie re-inventing himself badly". This was and still is a total groove.

He was sooooo ahead of his time man, I mean this was twelve years ago and still sounds so refreshing!

most things made in the 90's-prior sound better then the shit that has come out of this decade.

@pedritocobos That synth bass sounds kind of outdated.

@NoPetrol it'll get back in fashion ;D

@pedritocobos He is even more ahead of his time "today" than what he was back then because music is now regressing into nothing but generic shitty bands that sound like clones of each other with no creative spark, no individuality and absolutely no staying power.
The 90's was the LAST of great music, the 00's killed music.
blade004 1 year ago 4
@blade004 ehh, the music industry and radio's demand for crap that any idiot will listen to killed the potential for most progress, that and fewer album sales due to piracy which was far less prevalent then.
To find new, good music anymore, you almost have to look for independent label artists. Indi bands were always a good source, even when radio and pop culture weren't trying to force feed us nothing but slop.

The bible also says a man must marry the wife of his dead brother. Fancy your sister-in-law?

This song is so amazing - compare this studio version with the acoustic version that dave and reeves do. It is duplicitous in as to how it affects you. This version is so direct - the narrator accepts his fate with arrogance as if he spits "fuck You! I know I'm dead!" - almost arrogant.. And then the acoustic version - the delivery is less accepting - the narrator doesn't want to give in - but knows he has no choice.
