Go both. Trying to decide which version of a song is better is silly, just like trying to decide if any song in general is better than another song. It's all about how much you personally like it.

The church in the rock is in Sedona, AZ - if you ever get the chance go. I've sat in that church and up at the canyon in the early a.m. hrs with this exact song on my ipod - very very spiritual and emotional worshipping our Lord and standing in total 'awe' of His creation.

Ok, first off Chris Tomlin probably won't be reading your message so you don't need to address it to him. Secondly, Michael W. Smith has to have permission to use the song since it isn't his originally, which he does have permission.
Actually that's not true all songs have copyright. For worship music songs are registered under CCLI and most churches pay for a lisence to use the songs on sunday.
As for the song being a copy since they are both on a released cd you can assume he has permission to redo the song, Thus making it a cover not a copy.
Whoever made this video should admit that they were under the influence of the "nector of the gods," I think. Indeed, alcohol and equivalents enhance a persons social. That's why drinkers get into fights with each other and stuff all the time, ah?

Stevey isn't forcing anyone. God wants us to be a beacon in a world of darkness. Ok, first off Chris Tomlin probably won't be reading your message so you don't need to address it to him. Secondly, Michael W. Smith has to have permission to use the song since it isn't his originally, which he does have permission.

Actually that's not true all songs have copyright. For worship music songs are registered under CCLI and most churches pay for a lisence to use the songs on sunday.
As for the song being a copy since they are both on a released cd you can assume he has permission to redo the song, Thus making it a cover not a copy.

Stevey isn't forcing anyone. God wants us to be a beacon in a world of darkness. People dislike religious people because they watch too many movies and think that when they walk into a church the entire congregation will stand up and stone them to death with their convictions. There's nothing wrong with suggesting, nothing at all :) So in other news. I like this song. I wanted to hear the guitar parts bc this is one of the worship songs for this sunday :)

That the world is a world of darkness is only your (pessimistic I might add) view. As far as 'converting': it happens too often to just dismiss it as suggesting: it's even preached in the church that one should contact as many non-believers as possible =)

If what we believe isn't true (which it is) WE will always be safe because if what we believe is true, WE are going to heaven to live for eternity in a perfect life. And if what you believe is true well then all of us will just go into the ground, so WE are good either way. I must say, I love this song :]. And as for that boy talking about the bible being fiction, people, please don't listen to them, every story in the bible is provable, the people are provable, and the places are definately provable. Now athiests are usually just confused, my pastor has brought plenty of athiests to the lord, so just pray for him, and hopefully we will see him in heaven.
