  • I wear NC15 for the studio fix powder, for the liquid would I also get NC15? THanks so much!

  • you can actually put on the studio fix fluid and then set it with the studio fix powder if you are looking for a seriously flawless look.. i started doing that this summer after my mac counter suggested it and my skin really looks like porcelain when its finished. :)

  • *sigh* it seems like there's no foundation out there for dry skin. It'a all for oily skin :/

  • @IStriveForPerfection Chanel vita- & prolumiere are AMAZING for dry skin :D

Also, the OCC tinted moisturizer is great for dry skin, if you want more coverage than a regular tinted moisturizer, since it's very pigmented :D

And the gosh foundation is great too, if you can get a hold of it :)

  • amazing review! .. but do you think it has more coverage than the Studio Sculpt?

  • Thanks so much!!:D

    You rock!!

  • Do you reccomend this for a daily use for school?

  • @melimoe1 yep! lately (for the summer, mainly) ive been mixing the studio fix fluid with a moisturizer and using it as a tinted moisturizer/2-in-1 to save time in the morning, so its def good for school, and all seasons really.

    xo

  • The comment you were making about the SPF ... Does that also apply to MAC's Prep + Prime SPF 50 primer? Meaning: Would you have to literally use half the bottle on your face in order to achieve that level of sun protection?

    Thanks for the helpful video!

  • you are Canadian-Thai right? Do you speak Thai? I love your vids!

    I'm Thai. สวัสดีค่ะ

  • thanks for this video it helped me a lot!

  • Blaqk Audio <3

  • i miss when you two made videos together =/

  • LOl oily people made me laugh loads, I saw these people made of oil XD

thanks for making this video, it was very helpful to me

  • thank you so much.

  • thank u for saying the thing about half the bottle having spf 15, i never knew that before.

  • i dont like compass blue noww that jade is gone...it used to be helpful and not as long of videos. jade was bbetter

  • okay, goodbye!

  • am looking for really thick foundation and i want it to look powdery any recomendations ? pleaseeeeee

i havent tryed the mac studio finish, is that thick and powdery ? xxx

  • try maybeline mineral power foundation , i kno its not mac but its close to what your asking for , you can find it at any drugstores like walgreens and CVS , i have it and it leaves no dewy look , it leaves more like powdery matte , so no shine and it covers up veryyy well sometimes i have to buff it out cause it goes on to heavy for me but thats wat u want .. lol

  • so i have sensitive skin i asked the lady at the mac counter to try the satinfinish cuz its mineralized and thats practically the only thing i can use but she was like well why dont u use the studio fix fluid it has better coverage it DOES... she gave me it to sample and now the blemishes i have went from a few to a whole crap load...GREAT PRODUCT BUT SMELLS BAD & BREAKS ME OUT LIKE CRAZY. NE1 KNOW SOMETHING THAT I COULD USE LIKE A PRIMER OR SUMTING TO PREVENT BREAKOUT CUZ I LOVE THE COVERAGE?

  • i suggest u shouldn't use ANY mac foundations because honestly if u look at other reviews on macs foundations most gurus say they break out frm it , the best foundation i think for u is Neutrogena healthy mineral foundation , and trust me it is healthy for ur skin, i have tryed it and it covers up very well and neutrogena has always been a line of people who have sensitive skin and break outs if you probablly have known, u can get it at any drug store(:

  • The problem with that is that it doesn't come in everyone's shade. Trust me, I tried it. They didn't have my shade so I went with the darkest one they had. I looked like a sun- bathed Michael Jackson.

  • I got my Studio Fix powder from my CCO and on the back it says C25. So im guessing it's NC25? So would I be NC25 for the fluid as well?? HELP! LOL

  • no, the liquid does not hyropize HC25

  • is the 187 brush better than a kubuki brush for the studio fix?

  • i use the 187 with the liquid and a kabuki with the powder studio fix. i like the effect of each brush with its own foundation, so i would reccomend that. however, if you are just looking to get 1 brush, i would suggest the 187. i personally dont like the effect the kabuki gives on the face with liquid foundation.

  • I have been really wanting to try this out, so many good reviews of it. Im trying to hold out since I have a few liquids to use up atm. Thanks for the review

  • im so upset i bought mac studio fix yesterday and somone stole it at skl today :(

  • does talc make u break out? idk i heard it does..

    thankss for the review =]

  • everybody be careful with the liquid. its in a glass container and last month when I was putting my make up on in the bathroom, I knocked it off the counter and it shattered!! :( i am still upset about it. so be careful!!

  • im going to buy that now.

  • go for it!

  • i have a question if you have time, do you use the liquid and the powder together? i live in florida so my skin gets really shiny, i was wondering if i should layer the two.

    thanks

  • yes i use the liquid and powder together all the time and i love it.

yes, i would layer the 2 if you want/need good coverage. im sure you know that you need to set liquid with a powder all the time, and why not with a powder that adds a bit more coverage?

  • Nice review.

  • Do you know which mac product gives you that "barbie doll" look? shiny/glossy and flawless, I was told studio fix as its the highest coverage one, But i dont want it to look too Matte.

    Would you say studio fix??

    thank-you

  • you can wear studio fix liquid and set it with a mineralize skin finish (more luminous than the studio fix powder) as well as a shimmery highlight for a doll look (such as colored skin finishes)

  • Ur extremely thorough. Great review, keep up the good work.

Its nice to know, u spend so much time helping other people with their make-up issues! lol.

  • Thank you so much, i spend a lot of time planning the review.

so im glad it pays off.

  • heya,

it is said that you should, but my skin color does not change enough throughout the year to justify me getting 2 different shades. but everyone is different tho, right?

  • wait...

    what's the difference between

the select SPF 15 fluid and the studio fix SPF 15 fluid?

  • Oily people XDDD

thx i just brought the fluid 2 days ago

    N it's good

  • i just bought the mac studio fix fluid in NC 35 & it is awesome!!!!!i luuuv it. when i used the drug store foundations, they were too pink for my skin because i have more of a yellow undertone. so invest in the good foundation. it's pricier, but will definitely go a long way!

  • Hey! You're super pretty! :) Anyways, I found your video very helpful. I was just wondering since I live in the Philippines which is REALLY hot and + I have oily skin. So it kinda sucks. The main point is that I do sideswept bangs and if I put it near my forehead, the powder usually ends up getting on my bangs.. so would it be better for me to use the fluid?

  • heya, thanks so much.

the powder shouldn't be getting onto your bangs, maybe you are using too much? with that said, you could use either. do you like the coverage the powder is giving you, because if you dont then the fluid will be better for you.

  • veryy helpful :]

  • thanks so much for the video!

  • you were so helpful..i'm getting the powder 2morrow..:)

  • wow! so many views.

    very helpfull. thank you anna!

  • Thanks so much! You helped me with all my questions about studio fix fluid!I bought the fluid today so for more coverage on some acne marks.

I know all makeup can cause breakouts, Does the fluid tend to cause breakouts??

    What concealer do you recommend?

Do you recommend using a just a concealer then the powder or foundation with a ligt amount of powder?

    Thanks again!

  • heya,

actually, makeup nowadays dont cause breakouts unless you dont properly wash your face. so if you do cleanse your face well, SF fluid as well as any other makeup wont clog your pores.

I personally use the select coverup concealer by MAC, but the studio finish concealer (in the pot) is also very popular.

as for the last question, it really depends on the coverage you want. all over or just areas on your face.

  • Thanks sooo much! Your the best! :]

  • you said u wear nc 25 for the fluid and 30 for the powder. is it better to get a shade lighter for the fluid than to get the same color for both?

  • actually, the colors are pretty much the same. its just that the powder shades dont match the liquid shades in numbers, so the same shade will be a number up or down

  • hi ,, great vid :)

wanna ask u : did u use them together ?

i mean the stdio fix fluid & powder ???

and what does it look likes ???

    thnks :)

  • yes, i use them together. and i like the effect. to me its got a smooth matte finish, even coverage. it wont give a glow or anything though, just make your skin look good.

  • who is jade is she your sister? lol sorry this is the only video i have seen u of u

  • jade is the co-producer of this youtube channel, check her out in our other videos.

    thats ok,

  • do u recommened mineralize skin finish?? or studio fix more.. i have oiley skin

  • the first will give you a glowy light coverage look, the studio fix will give you alot of coverage and also soaks up oil in the skin, so i would go for the SF. hope we could help.

  • First of all, i loved this review! but i have a problem...

i just got the fluid version in NW25 (the makeup artis saw my face without any product and recommended me that tone)

    But it looks kinda orange!

I used the 187 to put it on and powder over it

Am i doing something wrong? did i waste my money?? (oh god..no!)

    Please help me!!

  • If you don't like the colour payout on any of the products, take your original receipt and the foundation back to the MAC and do an exchange. They should be willing to do that without any hassle :)

  • it is probably just too dark for you. ask for a shade lighter, and if that still isnt good enough, ask for an NC, and see if that makes any difference. peace.

  • thank you so much! it's nice when people actually reply the comments!!!

I went to MAC today and i got the sf powder in NC, looks so much better!

  • we both get great satisfaction from seeing our subscribers pleased. so thank you, and its awesome that you got the perfect powder. pc.

  • Thanks so much for replying so quickly as I'm going to get them 2moro! thanks so much that's the best advice I've had in a while! Gd luck with everything! xxx

  • well thank you, im glad i could help. let me know how they work out in a couple weeks.

  • Hey!

I wonder if u could help, I'm planning on buying a liquid foundation from MAC but my skin is a bit prone 2 blemishes so when I read that Studio Fix Fluid was oil-free i was really happy..until i found out that it was medium coverage.. Mineralize Satin Finish has light to medium coverage but from what I read on the MAC website isn't oil free! I'm really confused please help!! And is Studio Fix Powder good 2 set my foundation? Thanks in advance! Jane xx

  • hey there,

medium coverage doesnt mean that its bad for the skin. you just need to wash it off well at night. i would go for the studio fix if you're acne prone. im acne prone too and i havent had problems with this. i also use the powder to set my foundation, so yes it is good, but it adds more coverage, so if you dont want coverage on top of your foundation you should get mineralized skin finish powder instead. but i love alot of coverage so i use the the liquid and powder together.

    thanks!

  • Thank you! It's funny it was exactly the review that i was looking for. I wasn't sure which one to get. Because when you live the store and use it again, sometimes you change your mind. I hate going back to return stuff. I don't want to waste time, and the store it's not close to my home.So thank you sooooo much u saved me time and money. lol

  • hey, im really glad that i helped you out. which one are you getting, if any?

  • I'm going to get the fluid one. I have combination skin but my cheekbones are very dry, so I don't think I can use the powder one.

  • good choice, the liquid is more versatile. congrats!

  • Do you think you could do a tutorial on how to put on foundation the right way?

  • Sure. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice review!

I was wondering if you guys knew a moisturizer or primer (moisturizer at most) that has SPF 50 or something that will really give me the sun protection i need? I have oily skin..

  • try mac prep and prime with spf 50. i use it and really love it! xo

  • hey there. i have oily skin too and i use neutrogena's ultra sheer face sunscreen with spf 45. its oil free so its good for oily skin. i mix it with my moisturizer and then apply it because, since it is a sunscreen its not meant to moisturize, but depending on how oily your skin is, it might be all the moisture that you need. thanks for your question

  • awesome review girlies!

have you tried the mineralized satinfinish??

    i love it!!

  • Neither Jade or I have used that foundation. Jade uses Studio Tech and I use SFF. but ive heard great reviews about the msf liquid. im thinking about getting the mineralized skinfinish powder, have you tried that?

  • you mean the new view powser? cuz i have that one and its pretty cool. i dont think it will make me a loyal member haha

    but the fluid is awesome!

if you can...ask for a sample of it next time youre at the counter!

  • well, im talking about the permanent msf powders, which the new view powders were created from.

they do samples of powders? i didnt know that was possible!

  • oh yeah i havent tried those ones!

yeah they can make samples....just maybe some peoples dont like to do it cuz their cranky haha

but i am gonna be working at sephora and that company loveslovesloves to give samples!

    so yeah...they rock!

  • About finding your color like what one you need, i dont have a mac store but i have a macy's and nordstroms would someone there be able to help me with finding my skin color? if that makes sense anyways lol

  • there are mac counters in macys and nordstroms right? if so, then yea, they can help you find your shade. if you're talking about general makeup counters, that's the good thing about department stores, there are always makeup artists there to help you out, so the answer is yes either way.

  • Ok thanks =]

  • ur hair looks really cute here!

  • really? thanks! i just pinned my bangs back :D

  • Would it be too thick/cakey if you applied them together? (Foundation then powder)

  • no. i forgot to mention (after recording for the 3rd time you forget things that you mentioned the first 2 times lol) i use both of them together everyday. the powder is a foundation and a setting powder, so a light application sets the liquid and a heavier application adds more coverages. i like alot of coverage, so i do both and put a good about of each on my skin. but it doesnt look cakey at all

  • i bought the pump for the fix fluid. less waste :)

  • Good call on that one. Especially when it's more expensive, saving is always a mega plus :)

  • nice thanks for this vid! I was contemplating whether or not I should get a mac foundation, and I think after this video i'm going to purchase the power one!

  • the powder one you mean? yea, i fully support that decision. i love it.

  • nicee! :)

  • thanks alvi!

  • i never knew the info you said about SPF that was helpful

  • im glad you got somethin gout of this vid. thanks for commenting!
