so true...I've been playing the sax for almost 12 years now and I went back and have been doing longtones, scales, arpeggios and have seen a drastic improvement in my sound, tone, and technique. Even with this improvement, I'm still a sapling! I can only hope that someday I'll be somewhere on the way to becoming that oak tree!
