If Double Diamond stayed in production like as of 2012, i wonder how the setter would have changed over the years like the Brunswick A , A2, GS series!
Question:Should free fall bowling stay " Traditional?", or should it become "Obsolete?" Are the people making strings cares about bowling? Are are they just making them for financial gain? Like with CEO's and all that flap doodle jazz? "Like Comcast?"
There's something comparing about 5 pins. Thomas F. Ryan only possessed ten pins in 1905 and only lasted for 4 years when he converted 5 of the ten pins in to 5 pin bowling. Then the automated freefalls only lasted for 5 years. And Ryan died in '61, and he wasn't alive to see the strings in '63. I don't know if he was ever aware of the strings before he died. If he was alive in '63, would he be for strings, or only for freefall bowling? Because freefall bowling existed during his whole time.
Wouldn't it be a good idea if the Canadian bowlers sanctions could split strings, and possible return of free-falls in half? I mean bowling alleys could have half of their lanes with new free-falls, and the other half of strings. Including for rubberband duckpins. That way it would be fair for bowlers who still believe in strings, and for pro-free-falls too. So there wouldn't be a civil war about it. And new free-falls should be technologically advanced too.
@kaddursal I mean, this sound bizarre to me. Ryan's ten pin possession only lasted for 4 years. And then he added the rubber rings to the 5 pins 3 years later. And then automated freefall machines only lasted for 5 years. Then came the strings. Which made the pins move slightly differently occasionally attached to them. "Bowling in America was never like this."
"My opinions for the technologies for bowling": Computer Scoring Consul Systems (No paper score sheets)=Yes Automatic Free-Fall Pinsetter Machines w/automatic programing wood sweepers & pinsetters (Without pushing any buttons after rolling the ball)=Yes String pinsetters=No Automatic foul detection systems (If ball hits pin while in the gutter & feet over foul line)=Yes Homemade bowling lanes w/human pinsetters=Yes/Only with free-fall pins

I wonder why Double Diamond never made a 10-pin setter. Maybe it was because they knew the market was owned by Brunswick and AMF.

freefall for five pin is pretty fun to play on......too bad most centres are stringed machines

The only freefall I've bowled on are the Double D's , I hear they work great.
Its a shame Brunswick or AMF don't make freefall 5-pin versions of the GSX or the 82-90.
I can vision a 5-pin version of those machines!!

shame.
we used to have the Brunswick ones, but then our owner upgraded to synthetic lanes, he dumped them for Schmidd's.
