India has very active FBR program, which needs fuel from the traditional nuke plants....

Indo-US strategic relationship can go beyond nuke deal. Earlier Russia used to supply nuke equipments and fuel....

Regardding NPT, if China can purchase nuke equipment and keep its nuke warheads, what for, you like to force India to behave in different way?....

Why don't people who question the nuclear deal ask this basic question? What gives the 5recognized nuclear powers the right to keep nuclear weapons and at the same time have access to international cooperation whereas countries like India and others have to fight for that right? The world community must show courage and stand up to this discrimation if it is really serious about non-proliferation instead of simply questioning the deal.

There are AMPLE REASONS why India does not sign the NPT in its present form. The government of India has hinted that if India is included as the sixth nuclear power under the NPT, India will sign the treaty.

Before 1998, INDIA UNDER RAJIV GANDHI HAD AGREED TO SIGN THE NPT AS A NON-NUCLEAR WEAPONS STATE, BUT ONLY IF THE FIVE RECOGNIZED POWERS AGREED ON A THIRTY YEAR TIME BOUND AGENDA FOR NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT.

Blame it on the US, Russia, UK France and China. Don't blame India.

Doesn't this weaken the U.S. credibility when it try to stop Iran from having access to nuclear technology, at the same time allowing a nation that has not signed the NPT agreement to have access. The U.S. simply bending the rules to use India as a shield against the rising dragon China.

there is a difference between countries like india and the countries iran and usa. we have nuke no first use policy and nukes are for defensive measures only. and its not only india geting technology but usa also gets thorium blanket technology from india which makes using thorium viable as a nuclear fuel

If China can meet much of its energy deal than why can't india? I find it so sad that India has such a huge labor force yet there is little economic oppertunity for the average man.

Nuclear is bad. Yet Nuclear is our future.
