Please tell me this is not Chicane! if it is they have really dropped the ball. How can they create such emotion with there music then go on to make noise like this
this 'tune' is as crusty as the snot on that kids face. absolute gash and I am horrified that Nick Bracegirdle could produce such rubbish. there is nothing emotional about music anymore - just full of chav rappers waxing lyrical about money, fame and fanny. most videos released nowadays reflect that. Music no longer has an element of unifying people together - it's all so generic, soulless, empty and plastic! the apocalypse is definitely on its way! can't come quick enough if you ask me!
Out of all the things he's done...Marie Brennan (Clannad) just amazing, even Tom Jones was a great track despite the Vocal edits to his voice but this?The hook midway through the track is very Chicane like but the rest is just a horrid attemp of SHM - One (ft Pharell) and that song was bad enough with his vocals.
Ultimeately, an artist is a business and if he's not selling albums, then there's unlikely to be any future albums. This tune is one single, and it's success is directly linked to whether we hear 'classic' Chicane or not. And actually, I think it's a good track. It has a Faithless feel to it, and if he was releasing something that sounded exactly like his other stuff, people would criticise for that too.
For those that say this tune is crap because it's too commercial, it's important to remember that released singles exist to market an album, and without album sales, there is no artist. Chicane needs to release commercial-sounding tracks to get radio-play, which is essential to get boost sales. This in turn drives exposure, which sells albums. Poppiholla and The Best Of album are a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
This almost feels like a 2nd rate Swedish House Mafia track. Chicane should stick to the epic and uplifting music we know and love (like Offshore) instead of trying to appeal to the charts

Ahhh...this is terrible...I rely on Artists like Chicane to keep the music real but im afraid everything of this has a thumbs down...even the stabs are a bit too formulaic...very unlike him as an Artist.
I'm going to be perfectly honest, this is terrible, the rapper just makes it shit. It's so much better without the lyrics, if you want to listen to a better version listen to @VillaNaranjosMusic 's version
You might think the whole album will be shit. But it really isn't, Thousand Mile Stare is in one word .... awesome.
