my mother was married to a man(not my father) that was physically abusive to her, my brothers, and me and sexually abusive to me. this song made me cry, it reminded of all the pain and heartache i witnessed and went through. worst six years of my life!.. thank god she left before it was too late but i still am hurt and angry with her sometimes, we are still recovering from that time, im still dealing with my own issues,atleast we made it out not everybody does and my heart hurts for them more.

my oldest brother died at the hands of my "dad" and then my mother died, because she no longer held "the will to live". this song is TRUELY a constant reminder of the effects that abuse has on the family that remains in my life and as painful as that is, i LOVE that Justin found the courage to make and record such a piece of glory! he has more courage than most!!!!!!!

everytime i listen to this song i DO cry! i think of my mother and my two brothers and myself. there are so many families that deal w/ abuse(physical) on a daily bases, and that was us.the outcome is almost always bad, but justin gave me a way to let my secret out of my soul w/ out hurting my mother( who has since passed away) and for that i am VERY thankful!!!
