Very good my friend, if the Orthodox Church is not the Church, what is the Apostolic Church? Read what the Apostolic Fathers wrote about the organization of the Church, Eucharist, Apostolic Succession, during the Apostles lifetime. It's very easy, you're either in the Church or outside. It is evident you still worship man (church fathers). The Holy Spirit is our guide. Your church was not around from the beginning either. None of your service is biblical or taught by Christ. Robes, fancy buildings, traditions, liturgy, etc.. Jesus said beware of people in robes (matt 23). The original Apostles never practiced this form of worship. Read Acts what the original churches were like.

None of your buildings, robes, alters, fancy poles, etc.. was ordered by Christ, in fact just the opposite. He warned us against such men who tie heavy burdens on people. Saint Peter is talking in his epistle about our duty to continously pray when he says "we are all kings and priests".
St Paul clearly states a difference in the epistle quoted between a normal believer ("saint") and the men of the church(bishops..").

Jesus Chris is the "Son of God" (generally meaning that he is God the Son, the second person in the Trinity). And He had never smiled during His physical body presence on the Earth.
Where in the Bible does it say that? It does say however, there is joy in the presence of the Lord. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength. There are actually 188 verses that speak of joy in the presence of the Lord.

So, the joy of this world is NOT the joy of the Lord, Whose kingdom is not from this world. Here, on the Earth, if someone feels joy, he is smiling. But take a look at Orthodox Christian Icons where every single Holy Person is NOT smiling. Consider that their (Holy Person's) aim is to achieve Christ like life.

A great man Elder Cleopa, his interviews, books, preachings have brought spiritual piece to many Christians and a strong faith, many which were wondering through protestantism or occult practices such as transcendental yoga have returned to the true God and the rich christian tradition that can only be found unaltered in the orthodox church.

God wants to set us free from religion. He is a loving Father and a lover(we are brides). Works should be part of our lives a Christians, but not the only thing. Did he not say many will heal sick, raise dead etc... Depart from Me, I never knew you. God wants you to experience joy and love in Him. He did not save us to serve dead religious systems. But to know Him and share His love and become more like Him.

Very good my friend, if the Orthodox Church is not the Church, what is the Apostolic Church? Read what the Apostolic Fathers wrote about the organization of the Church, Eucharist, Apostolic Succession, during the Apostles lifetime. It's very easy, you're either in the Church or outside. We've been in the Church ever since. There is no Holy Spirit outside the Church, not in the 20,000, and counting, so called churches.

You still cannot answer and won't any of my questions because you hold these men in higher standard than Jesus and the Word of God. Read the Bible and compare it to your teachers. It is evident you still worship man (church fathers). The Holy Spirit is our guide. Your church was not around from the beginning either. None of your service is biblical or taught by Christ. Robes, fancy buildings, traditions, liturgy, etc.. Jesus said beware of people in robes (matt 23). The original Apostles never practiced this form of worship. Read Acts what the original churches were like.

@ioancasian Actually, the Orthodox Church is still in Constantinople and hasn't vanished from there, but, more importantly, we are still in Jerusalem and Antioch where we prayed as THE ONE TRUE CHURCH according to the Book of Acts. So why is it your sect is never mentioned in the Book of Acts nor does it have a founding on the day of Pentecost. Which of the Holy Apostles taught in your sect? All of them were Orthodox and founded our churches. So how is it you claim any authenticity?!

Until one is prepared to examine the ultimate Truth of Orthodoxy in a mature and sincere way, such a person should refrain from dogmatic relativism and disrespect for the Truth and the Church founded by Jesus Christ. Oversimplified dilletante comparisons only serve to illustrate the paucity of religious formation and appreciation for Truth of those who do not know it. So find the Truth and honour it. Here it is.

@schlabresfan Well, for one, you know who established the Book of Acts to be authentic as a writing of the Holy Apostle Luke? The Orthodox Church at the Council of Laodicea at the end of the fourth century, with the rest of the New Testament WE COMPILED THEN in the Tradition. Prior to that , there was no New Testament.

@schlabresfan While if you do read the Book of Acts, you will read of celebration of the Eucharist and Mysteries as well as prayer in the temple at the appointed hours with the priests, robes, buildings, etc. Do you know who composed the first liturgy? St. James, Brother of the Lord, WHO PRESIDED OVER THE CHURCH according tot the Book of Acts. You should read it.

@schlabresfan Moreover, You will note that St. Paul wrote those Epistles in Greek to communities he oversaw in Greece which to this day exist and are faithful to what they were taught by the Holy Apostles. Strangely enough, they have been part of the Orthodox Church since then and their doctrine is what the Holy Apostles taught. Did any of the leaders of your heretical sect ever know St. Paul or have him write an Epistle to them? Isn't it rather ignorant to presume to teach Greek to Greeks?

Moreover, the fancy buildings and whatnot, read the Pentateuch. Then read the Book of Acts where the Holy Apostles prayed in the Temple. @jasonbently2002 church is not a physical building or a set of rules and order of service. It is a spiritual kingdom coming to fruition inside of true believers. None of your buildings, robes, alters, fancy poles, etc.. was ordered by Christ, in fact just the opposite. He warned us against such men who tie heavy burdens on people. The scripture also tells us Christ is our only high priest, and intermediary between God and man. Paul also warns us against the religious spirit.

@schlabresfan While Christ in his castigation of the money changers and love of the temple from His childhood is clear in zealously defending the robes, buildings, rituals, etc. of His Father's House. The Orthodox Church then in her Tradition represents the fulfillment of the Temple practice. Christ Himself says that He has not come to abolish the Law, BUT TO FULFILL IT, and if you READ the Pentateuch, you will see GOD COMMANDED the robes, rituals and rich temple.

@schlabresfan Actually all of it was ordered by Christ speaking to Moses on Mt. Sinai. Read the Pentateuch, you demonized heretic. Christ says He comes to fulfillt he Law. He worships in the Temple. He defends it with zeal from the money changers and supports its prayer. The Holy Apostles and the Church worship at the temple until it was destroyed in the Book of Acts. St. Paul even takes the Nazorite oath there. Really, learn the Bible at least, you lost and demonized heretic.

While in the Gospel Christ speaks saying HE WILL FOUND HIS CHURCH AND THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT. That Church is the Church of the Apostles and the Holy Spirit WHO ABIDES WITH HIS CHURCH TO THIS DAY. THAT IS THE ORTHODOX CHURCH ALONE. BTW, St. Paul in the Book of Acts makes quite a stir by being Apostle to the Greeks and the entire NT is written in Greek.

Saint Peter is talking in his epistle about our duty to continously pray when he says "we are all kings and priests".

Yes there are somber times and reverant times. However the Bible says in His presence we have the fulness of joy. You think Jesus was somber when the children were on His lap? God created emotions because they are part of His image. Joy and laughter is one of them.

There is no person more holy than others for God does not show favoritism. Christ is to be an icon not a man. Did not Paul make this clear when he said how some follow Peter and some him? Each one runs with thier point of view or a certain scripture (Seventh Day Adventists, Baptist, Catholics, Lutherans etc...) The Bible preaches balance. Works cannot save you for instance yet James tells us they are part of a believers life.

Your entire service revolves around man made works and traditions that are non biblical. The priesthood (we are all kings and priests), forced celebacy, completely different rules for being a Bishop (paul says they should be married with a family-see Timothy) abstaining from foods(colossians), calling leaders Father(Jesus said not to do this), worship mary(their is only 1 mediator-Jesus), prayers to saints(necromancy), no body ministry or operation of gifts of the Spirit during services etc...

That is the difference between our Orthodox saints and the latin ones. Our ones are named saints in life by the people, but they always humbly reject, saying they are sinful. the latin ones however call themselves that before they die, and shamelessly advertise their supposed devotion. Pray for us Saint Cleopa, and may God through his mercy and love enlighten our hearts and keep us away from the heresies of the west. May he fill us with love, gentleness and peace. +

Well some of them, be careful in judging the holy men in the west - even though they are in error many have been healed by their prayers and maby some even stand before gods throne among our saints.

A great man Elder Cleopa, his interviews, books, preachings have brought spiritual piece to many Christians and a strong faith, many which were wondering through protestantism or occult practices such as transcendental yoga have returned to the true God and the rich christian tradition that can only be found unaltered in the orthodox church.

Impressive footage of his funeral... thanks again, ioancasian! Which reminded me... I have myself some footage of him being interviewed in october 1997, where some of our Serbs went over there and filmed him... it's on VHS though...
