  • I bought my 22/45 and put a TacSol barrel on, but the volquartsen kit has been on backorder for months......any suggestions?

  • @Coopershawk27 i just bought one from midwayusa

  • Very informative vid. For sure getting this kit. Could you do a vid on how you did the grips?

  • Just wanted to say thanks for this video. I'm not new to shooting, but I'm new to owning. My family bought me a Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter for Christmas and I was able to drop the VQ internals in without a hitch. I did forget the trigger plunger, but realized it before I put the hammer pin in. Good call nutnfancy!! Haha!

Anyway. Thanks for this and the many other videos you make. Looking forward to catching up on some more of them.

    Best

    Matthew

  • Forget it. I slowed down the video and listened better to what you said. Thanks anyways

  • Hey nutnfancy; great vids man. Question on what to buy for the mkIII 22/45. Will I be able to do what you did in this video if I buy the "Volquartsen Accurizing Kit Ruger Mark II kit and the mkII bushing? Or is it the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit Ruger Mark III kit and mkII bushing? Sorry to ask but there are too many comments to read.

  • did you ever do a video on the grip change for your 22/45?

  • I did this trigger job on my 22/45 and it is awesome. I love how smoth it all works. Thanks, nutnfancy

  • the camera man is on crack

  • First off, thank you for your FANTASTIC videos! Please keep them coming!

We're purchasing a MKIII 22/45 for the family within the next week or so, and I was wondering how much of a 'break-in' you would recommend before I void the warranty by getting rid of that disconnect.

  • I went to the range recently and shot my Mark III target bull-barrel with the VQ goodness in it. It's a whole new gun. Never even took out the Glock that day. You cannot believe how awesome and affordable this setup is. A local gunsmith made the changes for $30. My advice is add VQ to your Ruger ASAP. They have 10/22 trigger mods too. FIVE STARS

  • I used this video to install a Majestic Arms 3.2 speed strip kit and it was very informative. While installing the kit I also yanked the slide release ball bearing as shown in the video but I didn't get the same results. It seems as though the slide release is not heavy enough because gravity doesn't drop it as I pull the bolt back. Maybe the gun is too new?

  • (continued...) In my experience just now, that is not possible. From what I can tell (and what seems to work in my gun), the long leg rides on the front of the sear pin and on the rear of the hammer pin. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

  • Thanks very much for this excellent tutorial! I love my new 22/45 with all of your mods (except I'm using the stock barrel). For those paying super-close attention to detail as I do, I think you have an error between 19:00 and 19:15 (where you wonder aloud if you're right or not). I think you look at the sample gun and see the long leg of the sear spring on the back side of the *hammer* pin, and assume that it should be on the back side of the *sear* spring as well... (continued)

  • I successfully applied this mod to my Ruger Mark III target. No more mag safety and the trigger pull is now 2.2 lbs. Thanks!!!

  • Awesome step by step bro, very informative. Thanks for taking the time to do this vid.

  • Nice trigger placement.

  • You can use the MKII kit in a non-22/45 MKIII, (target/hunter/competition) with the MKII bushing to get rid of the stupid magazine disconnect, right?

  • Has anyone had the following issue.I did the update to my mark III 22/45 exactly as stated in the video, and I have a issue. When I put the weapon on SAFE and attempt to fire it, it does not fire, but it makes a slight click noise. When I switch the weapon from safe to fire it fires at this point without me pulling the trigger.I have taken the weapon apart many times and re-assembled and the same result. I have put the original equip back, and no issues.HELP

    thanks for the contiued vidoes.

  • @wfelarson I think your problem has to do with the pretravel or overtravel screw placement. When the gun is in safe mode, you can still move the trigger and internal parts a little bit. Your pretravel screw was probably JUST on the verge of tripping the hammer when the trigger wasn't being pulled, and so the tiny amount of movement allowed by the trigger pull with the safety on tripped it. Then taking it off safe allowed it to fire fully.

  • @wfelarson I also have this exact problem - did you get it figured out? i've adjusted my overtravel screw in either direction quite a bit and it doesn't seem to matter.

  • Another choice instead of using blue loc-tite is Vibra-Tite VC-3. Nope, I'm not affiliated! Cool video - thanks!

  • At approx. 7:16 in the video there was a brief discussion of concerns regarding the lightened mass of the Volquartsen hammer vs the heavier original hammer. While the Volquartsen does have less mass, it is also accelerated to a higher velocity by the spring due to its reduced mass. Since the force applied to the firing pin by the hammer is equal to the mass times the change in velocity, the faster moving Volquartsen hammer should impart the same force to the firing pin as the slower original.

  • Great...now I feel the need to go buy a 22/45

  • i need help i cant pull my main spring out

  • this modification shall be done to my 22/45 thanks for the video. Otherwise i probably wouldve kept that stupid mag safety

  • great video, between this and looking at the exploded diagram in the manual i was able to get my 22/45 back together with a mk2 bushing. previously my parts had all been stirred around on the table so i was struggling a bit trying to remember the order in which things came apart.

  • Great info, horrible camera work. Hold the damn thing still so we can see what NF's doing. Thanks for the info, very helpful.

  • Good stuff man, love the work and can't wait to start tearing into my brand new 22/45! Brownells here I come!

  • Hey nutn! Thanks for such an informational video. I had previously replaced the action in my MKII with a volquartsen accurizing kit, and didn't know I could use the MKII components in an MKIII as well. Upon seeing this video i ordered another MKII kit for my MKIII 22/45. I just finished installing an MKII kit (and bushing) into my MKIII 22/45, and the results are fantastic! I get the wonderful Volquartsen trigger I am used to, and got rid of the nasty magazine disconnect! Thanks!

  • Thanks for posting. Took a while but got the trigger installed. Can't wait to get out to the range. Another advantage of removing the pin from the mag release is that when you lose the pin to the safety (still MIA) you have a spare! ;)

    Thanks again!

  • I bought my kit and bushing from Brownell's and it all installed with only one little hitch. The trigger plunger and trigger spring felt a little rough so I looked with a loop and found that there were some drill marks in the hole on the top of the new volquartsen trigger. I reamed out the hole with some 2000 grit sandpaper rolled around a q-tip and now it's smooth. Works great, worth the money.

  • @happycamper777 Thanks, I'm glad it worked for you. I emailed Volquartsen customer service and asked them the same question. Nic Volquartsen personally wrote back to confirm your response. As far as your lack of positive reset goes, could it be that your over-travel screw on the trigger is set too high, preventing the click to confirm reset. I'm Just guessing. Good luck!

  • I installed mine and now don't have a tactile trigger reset. Is this normal?

  • Yet another item sold by Nutnfancy!

I just installed mine, Thanks for the video install tips

  • I have a regular mark III Target pistol (not 22/45) and I'm getting the Volquartsen Accurizing kit, but since I also want to remove the mag disconnect safety, I wondered if I should also get the kit for the mark II rather than the mark III. Will the mark II hammer bushing work with a mark III hammer and pin? Thanks! Great video!

  • @CoyDoggy yes - got mine from midwayusa

  • Great video brother.. Always looking forward to more!

  • So in order to rid the magazine disconnect in a mark 3 i need a mark 2 hammer and mark 2 spacer?

  • I think the vid topic is great, I always love to see assembly/disassembly of guns I don't own (yet)...but good Lord Sadly Missing should lay off the 2 pots of coffee before he films.

  • Thanks guys! I always enjoy watching mods or installs. Good stuff!

  • What a great and very informative video. Very well done and I really enjoyed watching this video!

  • *sigh* so my parts are already here for my own 22/45.... I guess I'll be upgrading mine this weekend.. Nutn --- I love ya man, but you're killing my wallet!!! This last week alone I've picked up a 4Sevens Maelstrom X7 for my Rock River AR15 and these parts for my Ruger...

  • Another great video nutn'...thanks !

Looking forward to the future grip mod one as well.

  • Nice video...Using Clark bushing eliminates slop and makes trigger pull smoother and crispier...

  • Love the Ruger 22/45's but if you had a Browning Buckmark you wouldn't need a new trigger.

  • That 22/45 is sweet lookin'. Fun vid to watch. And the color on that slide is nice too.

  • I'm flipping crazy about the M&P 9's. Right now no time, but come winter, I need pack away projects like the Volquartsen Thanks appreciated. Not missing sadly at all.

  • Cool! Awesome job, Nutn'! Thanks for posting. Keep up the good work and keep sharing the knowledge!!!

  • Excellent. I will be doing this to my Mk III 22/45 sometime soon.

  • awesome fart at 27:42??

  • Love these videos. Nice job with those two mods to drop the mag free and remove that detent so the bolt is released easier.

  • Loving that slide-hammer centerpunch. I want one now...

  • I gotta do this to my Ruger.

  • Awesome vid...

  • That was very interesting to watch.

  • Like that Johnny Cash soundin intro music.

  • Good music, good video. Interesting to watch. Thanks.

  • what kind of punch is that?? looks fancy

  • good job making a tutorial so interesting, nutn!

  • wow I don't think I've ever bought "bulk" 22 rimfire... thought it always came in bulk

  • Good job nutn. It was nice to see saddlymissing again.

  • 26:26 that is one damn sexy gun.

  • Thanks for this vid really appreciate it! I've been wantin ta upgrade the 22/45 for a while.

  • loved the vid. nutn, you need a better camera crew though.lol

  • wowow 22 suppressors are amazing to have,

nearly nothing but cling cling cling cling :O!!!!!

  • lolol I've lost things due to springs before :'(

    they go FLYING!!!!

  • Nice t see your not hiding lady hands under your gloves, purely for function

  • You are blaming Obama for the debt?Tell me how would a republican person have solved the debt?

  • modding a pistol. cant get enough quality vids of this stuff. and good that you show all the steps. even just takedown at the start.

  • awesome sauce! great vid.

  • Dude... awesome video!

    Very interesting!!

Are we going to see a run n gun now? >_o

  • Thanks man! Simple and effective tutorial (and entertaining).

Might hook up my dad with this for Father's day.

  • Nutn is wright, anaerobic compound (loctite) needs a clean dry surface to work properly. I fly competition aerobatic rc helicopters and use alot of anaerobic. Grease and oils can and normally change the properties and keep it from completely drying.

  • Totally doing this to my 22/45

  • thanks nutnfancy!!! i removed my bolt drop/slide stop detent on my 22/45, and it is so much easier to manipulate without it. the mag safety was removed last year ;)

  • interesting how he doesn't just use generic names for equipment such as a flashlight or screwdriver, in which he refers to them by brand instead. this is not the first rather one of several in the past few videos. i have followed this channel page for some time, not the very beginning, but for a while. i have noticed how pseudo-humble nutnfancy has become. does he have bragging rights, sure. he goes out and does stuff. cool. but i don't know, something rubs me the wrong way.

  • @6broseph I think its because he does too many reviews. I can see it now....

*Nutinfancy slicing an apple in the kitichen by himself*

"Now I'm just going to slice into this sucker with the new Kitchenox 8592. Let me start with it's a very good blade, ,,,,, "

  • @6broseph I can somewhat see where you are coming from... but since a lot og guys base their purchases on the things he buys... I am sure it is just easier if he just says it instead of having to anotate it or answer a shait-load of PMs down the line. Just a thought.

  • @garzac7815 i understand that for reviews on the items themselves. but when the video has absolutely nothing to do with the item, i don't see the reason why it should even be mentioned unless he were employed by a manufacturer to name each item by make and model like he does. i don't know, just my two cents.

  • Thanks a lot for doing this video on the Mark III. I am going to do this to mine.

Could you demonstrate the Volquartsen Trigger Installation down the road?

  • Always nice to see Allie ... How is she by the way? It's almost summer so hope we see her in another nutnfancy summer mountain adventure :).

  • THATS ONE SICK 22...=)

  • Where would one go about to purchase a bullet catch?

  • Hey Nutn.. Why you dont wear gloves in this video?

    Kidding ;)

    Great vid. Take care

  • love the music !

  • Great video. Kinda stinks that the super bright light kinda caused some over exposure and obscured a few things. Def. gonna watch this a few times before I do my install. Thnx!

  • Love the video, although, your flashlights blow it out most of the time, everytime you've used one to light up something up close.....I see nothing but bright white light.

  • Crankin' out the videos. Way to go!!!!

  • Will this work for a Ruger Mark III Target model?

  • Great video. I feel like I learned something from watching this.

  • you should go on top shot

  • Awesome video...You guys look like you had fun. sweet shop.

  • Would have laughed if that air compressor blasted all those pins and parts off the table. He was pretty close.

Get an organizer tray when dealing w/ little parts. Or at least a container.

Springs are too easy to loose and impossible to find.

  • Unbelievable... I just bought the parts to do exactly this, then clicked on youtube then KATUSH!!!!!! Nutn's pursuit of excellence and the stars collide perfectly. Thanks again Nutn and sadlymissing! look forward to the 1911 grip mod vid!

  • SADLY's back!... (and Allie)

  • Cool

  • I just installed a Volquartsen hammer, auto bolt release, and extended mag release on my old 10/22--really makes a big difference! Good stuff!

  • happy to Allie

  • I am actually sitting in my parent's basement right now and I can't think of anything armchair elitist to say. What is wrong with me?

Nice video Nutn. Never seen a trigger job before.

  • Why is the upper of your ruger green I think it look so Mitch cooler what the name of that perticular piece.

  • Nice job. will have to use this as a reference video when I attempt this mod.

  • Is it just me, or does the camera almost never require the extra flashlight lighting that Nutn adds? :)

It seems to pick up everything just fine and the flashlight just washes it out and makes it harder to see.

  • @yacoub80 I agree..hey nutn, the extra flashlight just makes it real difficult to see. Most of the time, when nutn says "sorry about the lightning" I didnt even notice a problem at all.. the only time the flashlight is more helpful is like on a knife review to see inside the finer details.

  • @yacoub80

He just likes using his fancy flashlight. :P

  • Sadly: "Crap my gun is in pieces, oh yea i have a camera in my hands." (Looks at gun through camera)

  • Thank you so much for this vid! I ordered the same kit a few days ago and I was trying to find a good vid on installation.

  • Excellent modification video.

  • Sweet. I'd like to get one of those in my MK II. I'm not sure I'd like that overtravel screw though. That seems like it would be something that would really bother me. I did note your fix for that. Thanks for the video.

  • Although I do not have one of these pistols I found this a very interesting video. I guess I just love knowledge.

  • Love all your vids! Including the music intro for most of them.

But the music for this vid? Wow.

    I

  • bold tigers FTW!!!

  • lol this reminds me of when i built my AR-15. it was such a pain, but totally worth it.

  • @Ronald3570

You must not have done it right then

  • @2238945gbs i did it right dude, my ar-15 has been done for over a year now. its just my particular lower was a tighter fit on the pins and they were tough to get in the first time.

  • It looks like sadly has a well put together shop area. A tour would be cool.

  • how cool i was just looking at these triggers for my ruger 10/22

  • 1 dislike... looks like there's a member of Bladeforums here lol

  • how much does this cost?

  • @xlxshanexlx I googled it and i saw JUST the trigger for 30 and the whole thing for 100.

  • @timmyjunior1 thanks man, wasn't exactly sure what to google ha.

  • @xlxshanexlx a little bit over $100...

  • good video nutn and veri keep up the great work

  • hahaha " thats busch league thats not the way you wanna do things" one of the best nutnfancy lines ever

  • err gonna putt soome duuuuurcoat on that?

  • Hey nutn, Heard you mention during the keltec shoot w/ chad about breakin out a kel tec sub 2000. whats the lo-down with that? if its comin along with a table top, CAN'T WAIT to see it. Still loving the vids. keep rockin!!

  • i wish i could have suppressors in my state id have a .22 range set up in my basement in a heartbeat.

  • Lets face it guys Allie was start of the show tonight..all be it briefly

  • nice music too :o)

  • THANKS for doing this..........I have been waiting for it.

  • SADLY!!!!! Miss you bro!

  • Nutnfancy is now Luke to Terry G's Yoda :D.

Terry G: He is too old. Yes, too old to begin the training!

Nutn: But I've learnt so much! I'm not afraid to strip a 22/45!

Terry G: Urhhhh, you will be. You. Will. Be...

  • Comment removed

  • @temporalparadox

    What's "strip 22/45"?

  • @temporalparadox

Oh, got it now, sorry for stupidity.

  • Good to see Sadly back in the project! I need to break down and get a 22/45.

  • Could you put the part numbers in someplace?

  • haha the opening music brings a smile to my face

  • @nutnfancy Do you have a facebook page? Theres a couple of pages that claim to be TNP or nutnfancy, but I don't know if any of them are legit

  • @bigj687 I believe it was in Luvchat video where Tactical Doodle said that he have a facebook account, and he answers some questions there, but I'm not 100% sure

  • @bigj687 Check his channel page, hes got tons of links on there. If he doesn't have a Fbook listed I doubt he has an official one. Could be wrong.

  • nice shop

  • Very entertaining vid. More modding ones?

  • When the song started all I could think of was Cocaine Blues by Johnny Cash.

  • awesome! I just got a 22/45 a few weeks ago and have been planning this upgrade for about as long. Keep up the good work!

  • Great video and mod! Hope Allie is doin well Nutn! How is her recovery going?

  • lol... forth

  • third

  • Nice. Thanks for the video on this mod!
