DID ANYONE KNOW, AND I DID'NT..... the fifth studio LP was face released in 1975
The back cover of the record sleeve shows the members of the band with their faces pressed against a glass panel, supposedly watching the "electrocution" depicted on the front cover. The band member who is looking away is Richard Tandy, who thought it was a sick idea and therefore didn't want to participate
@eclecticear no just wiser, we remember what and when great music meant something. and I must agree about the tears. they are a language all of their own.
its from face the music an absolutely must have album for any elo fan, also on this album evil woman, fire on high, strange magic, the whole album is a masterpiece.
I used to have the album that this song came comes from. It was from side one of the vinal LP album: 1. Fire On High (which takes up most of it), 2.Waterfall 3. Evil Woman, and 4. Night Rider. Side 2: 1. Poker, 2. Strange Magic, 3. Down Home Town, and 4. Summer Dream or One Summer Dream. I have not listened to this alum since 1981 or 1982 so that is why I could not remember the last song on side 2 very well.
I bought "Out of The Blue" when it came out in 1977...LOVED it so much that for Christmas that year my Grandmother got me "A New World Record" and "Face The Music". I remember "air" violining to this track hahahaha. Great memories.

Does anyone realize that the "praise the mighty waterfall" etc part sounds like Canon in D sped up? X)
darklatios132 1 year ago
@darklatios132 You're right, it does. Must've been on Jeff Lynne's mind when he was writing the melody for the chorus.

This song just gets me. Right at about "But they don't understand...It's like a waterfall" my eyes start to well up. I think I'm getting old.
