  • They had it easy back then, look how small that thing is!!! took my test other month and lorry i passed in would tower over that thing!

  • That must be from the good old days when you could do your class one in something not much bigger than a 7.5tonner with a 5 speed gearbox. By the time I did mine, you even had to do the class 2 in a wagon with an 8 speed box.

  • en españa se hace de otra manera, tienes que zigzagear para enderezar luego el conjunto, es mas dificil.

  • So you are saying that i shouldn't use them for my training?

  • Sterling are in Court in March 2009 - they are Britains Number 1 Ripoff LGV Company

  • Well I didn't know that, do you have any other details?

  • must be much harder to do the reversing exercise in a wagon + drag, is that a 7.5 tonner?

  • Nope its a 10 tonne prime mover with an 8 tonn trailor. Cant use this for test now, must be 12 tonne, 8 speed, full body on the back.

  • I heard that the law was changing,do you need to be loaded now? i took my c+e in a ford cargo artic flatbed, they look tiny compared to a full sized one.

  • I think it's 2010 that they have to be loaded, but not sure on that one yet. To be honest I am tring to get out of the business after 24 years. I am starting to teach music now

  • There doesnt seem to be many hgv training schools about, at least not in my area (herefordshire) they are all retiring! teaching music will be a much more relaxing job i would think!

  • @levellingtheland no they still do it unladen.

  • rofl! leave the farkin engine running, what difference does it make??? as long as u remember handbrake.

/jean banahn, elite truck driver from sweden.

  • Lol how can people argue over this!? Ill be honest ive always been tought to switch the engine off (i only have class 2_ but i would have thought class 1 would be the same. Anyhows, As for the person with the new merc- I wouldnt want newbies training in a brand new lorry!

  • Driving tests and the real world are totally different.

  • The engine should be switched off when you leave the cab it is somthing i was taught when taking my test....and i am sure driving standards agency would agree with me.

  • Once again someone who nows nowt but thinks he knows everything. I stand by my previous statement.

  • well just going by what my instructor said when i took mine....they again it was a brand new merc.....not an old heap of shit

  • And your instructor has been doing this since 1984 like I have, or is he just some dickhead truck driver with no qualifications that thinks he knows everything like you ?

  • lol.....okay your right he must be a dickhead like me......i known nothing in fact...take a chill pill!

  • sorry mate but you've failed. you got out of the cab with the engine running! better luck next time!

  • Shows how much you know, when you do the reversing exercise you are asked leave the engine running in case there is a problem and the vehicle wont start, making the reversing area unusable for the next candidate.

  • thanks pete i live in birmingahm and just passed my class 2.

i will probaly watch this class 1 video about 100 times when i come to take the next test.

cheers again and happy new year!!
